I’ve been using WP Fastest Cache but it appears that WP Super Cache is the way to go when using Enfold.

However, when I choose the recommended settings, and try to save, I get this message

    403 Forbidden
A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site.

Generated by Wordfence at Fri, 23 Mar 2018 5:33:14 GMT.
    Your computer’s time: Fri, 23 Mar 2018 05:33:16 GMT.

    Any advice, please?

I’m looking at W3 Total Cache as another recommendation, but since it comes with Minify built-in why do people also seem to use BWP Minify?

Is it best to use W3 for caching only, and then BWP for minifying?

My concern for BWP is that it has not been updated for 3 years – is this cause for concern? It’s still being recommended.

    Thanks
    Angus

    Hey SuperSportsUAE,
BWP has been recommended in the past as one of the few minify plugins that doesn’t break the code. I have seen a few posts of issues with W3. Try reading other member’s feedback on Recommended plugins Why do you want to leave WP Fastest Cache? I don’t remember seeing any issues with it.
As for the Wordfence warning, try to change the Firewall to “Learning Mode”. Also check Wordfence support for similar reports.

    Best regards,

    Hi Mike,

Sorry, been on holiday & away on business too!

Just been looking through minify & cache plugins, reading reviews and looking into a CDN as well!

W3 seems to be popular so was looking into that, especially since it has minifying built-in – thought I could drop the separate minify plugin, and less plugins is goo, correct?

Concerned that BWP hasn’t been updated in 3 years – hard to believe that a plugin was 3 years ahead of its time!

The thing is, I don’t use WordFence anymore, so not sure why I’m getting warnings from it, haven’t for a while.

    Thanks

    Haven’t figured out anything!

I was asking whether if use W3 can I drop my minify plugin?

I stated that I don’t use WordFence anymore, so why is it stopping me from doing something, and posting warning messages?

Another question I have – if I use a CDN does it handle all my minifying and image optimisation?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I was asking whether if use W3 can I drop my minify plugin?

The theme has its own merge or compression feature so you don’t need the W3 minification option or any other plugin for that matter.

if I use a CDN does it handle all my minifying and image optimisation?

It doesn’t handle those processes. It just makes the site available accross different servers on different locations.

    Best regards,

Thanks Ismael, so I can remove the compression & minification plugins – BWP, EWWW Image Optimizer (made a difference to images and analytical results using this).

    What about AMP plugin?

That does raise another question, and answers another question too :-)

The answered one, is that the CSS in the custom CSS box for Enfold is therefore minified.

The other question is, why do I get feedback from a variety of analytical tools that my site is lacking minification in many errors – CSS, JS, HTML?

    What about the WordFence issue?

    Thanks

    Hi!

You won’t be needing any minification plugin but image optimization is another thing. You can check out Shortpixel or Optimus if you’re not satisfied with EWWW. Do you have version 4.2.6? Upgrade to the latest version then toggle or resave the theme options to regenerate the compressed/minified version of the scripts and stylesheets. You may need to purge the cache afterwards.

Unfortunately, AMP is not implemented in the theme yet but our developers are starting to modularized the builder elements in preparation for this feature.

    These threads might help.

    Hi,
Is there anything else we can assist with on this issue, or shall we close this then?

Hey SuperSportsUAE. I have a WordPress optimization business and I use Enfold for most sites. Here are some super simple guides I wrote, covering caching, CDNs, etc. As a quick note, unless you are producing content like the big players (Wikipedia, Reddit, etc.), I recommend you not worry about AMP, as it can do you more harm than good. I also do SEO and the biggest names in the business will tell you AMP should mostly be avoided.

Feel free to reach out with questions.
