I tried installing the plugin “Simple Business Directory with Maps.” After the install, I tried to edit pages, but page content in the CMS is blank. Also, the layout of the pages looked different – more like Gutenberg than the Classic Editor. I had never changed over to Gutenberg, so this seemed quite odd. I then installed a Classic Editor to make sure we were not running Gutenberg. The page content is still blank.
I am grateful for any guidance you can provide.

Thanks for the details, though I’m getting blocked by Wordfence. Could you disable that temporarily please?
Best regards,
RikardJune 13, 2019 at 5:33 pm #1109938I have temporarily disabled Wordfence.

June 14, 2019 at 6:16 am #1110207Hi,
Thanks for that, I get the same problem on my end and it looks like the theme Layout Editor can’t be accessed at all? I’m not sure but it seems like the plugin you are using is not compatible with the theme, maybe you could try to reach out to the developer of the plugin or look for an alternative?
Best regards,
RikardJune 26, 2019 at 10:34 pm #1113728Thank you for looking into the issue we are having with the blank pages on our website. I deleted the plugin from our website, but that did not resolve the issue of blank pages.
June 27, 2019 at 7:35 pm #1114075Hi SDLCMS,
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 28, 2019 at 2:47 am #1114142Thank you for the additional suggestion. I deactivated them, but the layout editor still is not working, nor does it display the content that is currently on our website. I have also noticed that, since the issue began, the layout editor looks more like Gutenberg than the Classic editor. I cannot find an option in our settings to select the Classic editor layout (and disable Gutenberg).
Thank you for sharing a screen shot of the JavaScript errors. I deleted the plugin, but I see that the Google Map API key is still on the list of errors. I did try inputting an API key when I installed the plugin, but I think that was in the settings of the plugin. I could be remembering that incorrectly – perhaps it was under a different setting of our CMS. Is there a way for me to confirm that the API key has been removed? If I did not set up the API key correctly, could that cause the layout editor issues and JavaScript errors?
June 28, 2019 at 12:24 pm #1114239Hi,
Thank you for the update.
The site is still running on an older version of the theme 4.4.1 and the settings that enables you to select an editor doesn’t exist in that version, yet. Please upgrade the theme to version 4.5.7 manually via FTP.

IsmaelJune 30, 2019 at 10:05 pm #1114718Where do I need to go to download the latest version of the theme to install via FTP?
Also if you can provide some instructions on how to do the install via FTP that would be helpful.
Thank you,
July 1, 2019 at 2:03 am #1114746Hi,
first, download the theme from your account at Theme Forest.
Then open it and extract the “enfold.zip” file and then extract it to your desktop as /enfold/
Then rename to /enfold-new/ and upload the folder to your /wp-content/themes/ folder via FTP or your file manager in your webhost cPanel
Then via FTP or your cPanel file manager, at /wp-content/themes/ rename /enfold/ to /enfold-old/ and rename /enfold-new/ to /enfold/Now your new version is installed, please check your site. If all is well then “Good Job!” If not then reverse the last rename step above and your site will be restored.
Best regards,
MikeJuly 1, 2019 at 3:47 am #1114757I followed the steps and have installed the latest version 4.5.7 of the theme. I still can not through my CMS edit anything in the layout editor.
Also how do I go about getting a valid private token?

July 2, 2019 at 4:07 am #1115009Hi,
Thank you, I tried to edit the About page and found a few javascript errors and the Advanced Layout Builder will not open. Typically this is a plugin conflict. I see that you tried disabling your plugins and it didn’t help, can we also try this?Best regards,
MikeJuly 2, 2019 at 5:29 am #1115021Yes, please do.
July 3, 2019 at 9:37 pm #1115587Our issue has been resolved. Thank you for your assistance!
