It’s my first time using this theme. I go under general styling & set a background image for things such as logo area, main content, and footer. After saving changes it will accept them. If i change any other styling related feature all of my background images disappear.
I then have to go to one of the background images, delete it, change it to another bg image, save changes, then change it back, save changes again, and sometimes it will make them all reappear. Other times I have to swap images 4-5 times to make them reappear. I have had this problem on 2 different Linode VPS instances, with 2 completely separate wordpress installs, so it is able to be replicated. One I installed shop demo on, and the other was just a second clean install, with a test page. I’m using 2 separate images for the background images, but maybe it’s one of the images i’m using causing a issue, though I have no idea what it would be.

RikardMay 16, 2018 at 4:20 pm #957572I did a little more testing. Any change to the general layout settings, background color, font color, etc. is resetting all the background images in use across all areas, such as main content, alternate content, header, etc. After this if I change any setting twice, saving after both changes, then refresh the website, and change a setting a third time & save changes, it makes all my background images reappear. This only happens when messing with general layout settings. Adding new pages such as products or anything else doesn’t cause the reset.
Thanks!
May 18, 2018 at 5:07 am #958424Hi,
Thanks for that. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.3.2) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. If that doesn’t help, then please disabling file compression under Enfold->Performance to see if that is where the problem is coming from.
Best regards,
RikardMay 19, 2018 at 3:22 pm #959092Thanks Rikard. Yes, before updating the theme, I disabled “CSS file merging and compression”, which fixed the issue.
I’m new to WordPress & as such originally did not set my theme up as a child theme. I spent yesterday converting it. I just went ahead and updated to 4.3.2, & was successfully able to turn “CSS file merging and compression” back on & not have the issue reappear.
So yes you were definitely correct on what caused the issue, but newest version of the theme seems to fix it.
