May 30, 2016 at 5:52 am #640112Hi,
Could you try removing the shortcode text blocks? That is most likely what is causing your problems.
Thanks,

May 30, 2016 at 6:23 am #640129I can’t. It’s the plug in I am using for the gallery. It’s an excellent plug in. I have used it on other sites. You think this is the problem? I had it on there for weeks and it was fine. Out of nowhere the page just screwed up.
Also.
I can’t get rid of anything. I can’t open the aviation layout editor. The page won’t load.
May 30, 2016 at 7:06 am #640146Hi,
Ok, please try to activate debug mode in order to see shortcodes: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/. Then try to copy/paste the shortcode of the page to a new page to see if that works better.
Best regards,
RikardMay 30, 2016 at 8:01 am #640165I am having the same sort of problem on two of my sites. I am not sure whether it is the exact same problem, but I try to edit any page and I get a white screen, nothing will load properly in edit mode. It does not seem to be shortcode that is causing the problem.
If you try to access a page from the main dashboard, the theme seems to lock up. I refreshed the browser about 5 times to actually get to the page, then when you edit anything (default editor or in advanced editor) the update icon that spins…. stops spinning and the page locks up. Then if you try to refresh again, the screen goes to white….
I turned off all plugins, changed the theme back to wordpress default theme twenty16, no problem, everything loads exactly as it should.
I tried to set up debug but even that doesn’t seem to work.
This is really frustrating as I can’t update anything. Really need some help fast…
May 30, 2016 at 9:03 am #640181i put the code in the child enfold php and it worked for a min. then it got stuck again. the page loads at least (the live page) but the editor doesn’t.
May 30, 2016 at 2:24 pm #640381Hi,
I noticed that you are using a caching plugin. Would you mind opening your plugin’s settings page and temporarily deactivate the caching of your site? Then please try to clear your browser cache and hard refresh the site (Hold CTRL + SHIFT + RELOAD) to see if that solves the issue.

AndyMay 30, 2016 at 2:29 pm #640386hey, i’m not using a caching plugin… i have the cache from godaddy automatically in there…
May 31, 2016 at 5:24 am #640677Hi,
So did you copy the shortcode to a new page and did you have any luck with it?
Regards,
RikardMay 31, 2016 at 2:28 pm #640922i didn’t do anything and the layout editor opened! woohooo! now…. what to do about that HUGE whitespace in the nonexistent div above the slider? it’s a 50px white space but it is put in a color section with 50px padding on either side when it goes live. i didn’t put it in.
May 31, 2016 at 2:33 pm #640929i just added a custom css to the slider . ;) you guys are the absolute best.

I updated the User to administrator. Thanks
November 28, 2018 at 6:20 am #1038335Hi Cenabarato,
Thanks for that. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.5) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Please note that you might have to delete the old version before you upload the new one in order for it to install properly, or use a plugin like this in order to upload the new zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/.

RikardMarch 29, 2020 at 8:31 pm #1198938Hello!
We are experiencing the same error when trying to edit a page. The Avia editor isn’t loading, and even the Default editor won’t load. We are using Enfold 3.8, which I know is an outdated version of the theme. When trying to update theme, it keeps saying no updates available.
Should we try uploading the theme again via this plugin? https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If so, do we install that plugin, enable a backup copy of the theme, click save changes, and then upload the new theme? Will this affect any customizations we have made to the template we have selected?
Thank you!
March 31, 2020 at 6:32 pm #1199420Hi bhsolutions,
Do you mean to the files? If you have the child theme the changes in the files will remain, but keep in mind, the files in the child theme are going to be very old and so they will need to be updated manually and your customizations should be made on top of the new files.
Does this make sense?
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,

Yes, we need further assistance. We are experiencing the same error when trying to edit a page. The Avia editor isn’t loading, and even the Default editor won’t load. We are using Enfold 3.8, which I know is an outdated version of the theme. When trying to update theme, it keeps saying no updates available.
We aren’t using any chid theme. We have an Enfold theme activated.
Please advise how to edit a page.
Thank you!
April 3, 2020 at 5:15 am #1200363Hi bhsolutions,
Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
Rikard -
