I cannot use the Avia Layout Builder.
I’ve updated all, very few plugins operating.
I reinstalled both the parent and child themes.September 22, 2020 at 10:15 am #1247572Hey dnweil,
Thanks for the login details. I checked the page in private and the layout builder is working as it should there. Is this happening only on specific pages maybe?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 22, 2020 at 3:45 pm #1247646I notice this happening now in NEW pages. Most recently the new page I started for “How to live a transformative life”
September 23, 2020 at 7:25 am #1247777Hi,
Thanks for the clarification. Could you enable debug mode so that we can see the shortcodes in your content please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode. We can do it for you if you give us permission to do so.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 23, 2020 at 4:32 pm #1247926Please do the debug mode. I am not comfortable with php customizations.
September 24, 2020 at 7:05 am #1248050Hi,
Thanks for the update. I enabled debug mode, but there is no content showing up at all unfortunately, and the front end seems empty too. Did the page actually have any content in it?
Anyway, the layout builder seems to not respond to any interaction unfortunately, and creating a new page seems to have the same result. I can’t see any error messages, so I’m not sure why it’s behaving like that. Would it be ok if we installed a plugin which deletes WordPress transients, to see if that has any effect?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 24, 2020 at 5:59 pm #1248245Correct, there was no content because the layout builder is not working. This was a new page and as you’ve discovered this problem persists on new pages.
I had the host provider check on their side and they report no abnormalities.
Please use the staging area to test your ideas here about plugins, etc. I’ll incorporate private links below.
Thank you!!!!
September 25, 2020 at 12:48 pm #1248425Hi,
Thanks for that. Clearing transients seems to have some kind of effect, the Layout Builder woke up somewhat, but it’s still not possible to drag any elements into the Layout. I haven’t seen this happening before, and I’m not sure what is causing it either, so I’ll ask the rest of the team for help.
Edit; would it be ok if we can disable plugins for debugging purposes on the staging site?

September 29, 2020 at 5:48 am #1249232Hi,
Thanks for the update. I deactivated all plugins and the Layout Builder started working as expected after that. Could you try activating the plugin one by one to see which one is causing the problem please?

RikardSeptember 30, 2020 at 12:51 am #1249515Okay, thank you again Rikard.
It looks like it was the “Members” plugin. What do you recommend, other than turning it off?
October 2, 2020 at 6:09 am #1249975Hi,
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure what to do about that to be honest with you, maybe you could try reaching out to the plugin developers? You could also try to look for an alternative, or to roll back the current plugin to an earlier version to see if that that changes anything.

Thanks for the login details. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.7.6.4) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

RikardNovember 11, 2020 at 4:39 pm #1259919Is FTP updating something that you can help with? I have very little experience doing something like this.
November 11, 2020 at 4:47 pm #1259921Hi @glbarnes85,
Sure, please start a new thread under Enfold sub forum – https://kriesi.at/support/forum/enfold#new-post and attach a copy of your Enfold license (I can see that current version you are using is pirated so we need to validate), FTP and WP admin logins in private content field.
Since you are currently using a very old and pirated version, theme might be modified and after the update you may need to re-configure some settings/elements such as Enfold theme options, widgets and header. So please make sure you have a backup – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/backup-wordpress-site/
Cheers!
YigitNovember 20, 2020 at 10:02 pm #1261870I am having the same problem as people above.
I am pretty sure that I have the most up to date version of the Enfold theme, and I am currently using Enfold child. The avia layout builder does not appear when I try to add a new page to my site, and it only gets as far as the spinning wheel if I try to edit an existing page.
I need to make time sensitives updates to my site, so please get back to me ASAP, thank you!

RikardMarch 19, 2021 at 8:46 am #1289110Hi, I’m also having the same issue. Have recently updated the Enfold version as well but problem persists. Checked with host and it says no issue with server / hosting. Previously also tried disabling all plugins but it didn’t solve the issue. I’ve included the site and login for your reference. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thank you.
March 19, 2021 at 8:49 am #1289111In my case I can still get the builder to load but it loads extremely slowly. Sometimes it goes to an error page after loading for too long as well. My other sites using enfold do not have this issue.
