I have updated the theme to Enfold 3.8 and the builder is still not loading. If I turn off one particular plugin (AMO) it comes back. All plugins are up to date.

I’m not sure what you are using that plugin for, would you be able to look for an alternative maybe?

RikardSeptember 16, 2016 at 7:23 am #687268Wish I could but it provides critical functionality. It was all working fine before the WP update…
September 16, 2016 at 1:57 pm #687507Hi.
Sorry to intrude, I’m new here, not sure if I’m suppose to start a new topic, but we have the same problem, out of the blue, the builder is not loading. We did not modified anything, we were just viewing the pages created by importing one of your demo templates, to learn how to use the builder. WordPress and the Enfold theme were updated two weeks before, and the builder was working until yesterday.WordPress 4.6.1
Enfold 3.7.1
no plugins, no other themes – this is a fresh installHere is a screenshot with the javascript errors from the Chrome console:
http://novastig.com/screenshots/avia_layout_builder_not_loading.jpgMany other buttons on the page are not working after this happens, like the switch to Default Editor, Edit slug button, Screen Options setting link or the Help link, probably due to the fact that the rest of the javascripts are not loading ?…
September 16, 2016 at 2:23 pm #687521We have the same issue here, too. We also tried the jquery fix with and without it.
The avia layout builder seem to break with the newest WordPress Update.- This reply was modified 8 years, 3 months ago by ICT-Cloud.
September 16, 2016 at 2:55 pm #687537Hey!
For those who are using Enfold 3.7 and older, they have to update.
If you are on the latest version, please checkRegards,
BasilisSeptember 16, 2016 at 3:01 pm #687542We enabled this in the functions.php but still the builder is not loading. We only see a grey circle which indicated that something is loading or not.
September 16, 2016 at 3:33 pm #687553Same here, after enabling the debug field the builder is still not loading, just the
_aviaLayoutBuilderCleanData
textarea became visible under theaviaLayoutBuilder
div.Same errors in console:
–Uncaught Error: cannot call methods on sortable prior to initialization; attempted to call method 'toArray'
–Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'hasClass' of undefined
This seams to happen only with pages. Posts and portfolio items are not affected, the builder loads and works ok.

September 16, 2016 at 4:06 pm #687583Hi all
We had the same issue today. Out of the blue… after saving one modification to a page.. the Avia Layout Builder is not loading anymore (grey circle). (Enfold 3.8 / WP 4.6.1.)
Any help is welcome!
September 16, 2016 at 8:33 pm #687713We are all getting this issue today, need a solution ASAP
September 16, 2016 at 8:37 pm #687716In the meantime we could pin it down to the Content Element ‘Text-Block’. Once we add such an element to the page, the Avia Layout Builder is not loading anymore. Maybe someone can confirm this?
September 16, 2016 at 8:40 pm #687717Suffering the same issue. Please help we are dead in the water why would this happen? Need quick fix ASAP. Made video on youtube demonstrating the break.
September 16, 2016 at 9:21 pm #687739Hi, investigating further, we can nail it down to a specific word that can appear in any element.
In our case it’s the word ‘Having’. Once we remove it or misspell it, everything works fine. Sounds weird? Please have the screencast: http://screencast.com/t/tSNDI0ri
I don’t get it! Now guys it’s your turn.September 16, 2016 at 11:16 pm #687757That’s extremely weird, we don’t have that word in any page :)
Anyway, we do have Text-Block in posts and portfolio items, but editing those is working. The pages do not. Even when creating a new, empty page, we can’t switch to Advance Layot Editor, the javascript errors are there already.September 16, 2016 at 11:20 pm #687758It looks like that peaches11 just found another bug, but it isn’t the same issue we all have here. Our problem is just relating to the newest wp update and latest release of enfold.
September 17, 2016 at 12:32 am #687765Ok…
As I said in my first post, in our case it is a fresh install, with just a demo imported, so we tried things others can’t afford.
– Deleting Enfold theme folder and uploading fresh files from the original zip did not solved the problem.
– Doing the same with WordPress folders and files (except for the config.php and the wp-content folder) did not solved the problem.
– Deleting all the tables from the database, reconfiguring wp, selecting the theme and importing the Small Business – Flat Demo (pretty much where we were when the anomaly appeared), did the trick: the builder is working again in pages. Same theme version, same wordpress version. :)
– Restoring the tables from the old database, ta daaa, the builder is blocked again. :(So, the problem appears in the database, something gets saved wrong. Something that affects all the pages, including new pages that we try to create.
September 17, 2016 at 3:52 am #687806Are there people who respond on here? Or is this just for us to commiserate? I’m so co fused. Why will the builder not work out of the box.
September 19, 2016 at 7:25 am #688322Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. If none of the suggestions listed here http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-enfold-layout-builder-is-not-loading-properly/ work, then please try to create a new admin right user and log in with that. Some users have reported that their old accounts cause the problem.
If none of those suggestions work then please open new threads and include admin login details in private with a detailed description of the problem and we’ll have a closer look at your installations.
Thanks,

You are running an old version of the theme. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.5) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Please note that you might have to delete the old version before you upload the new one in order for it to install properly, or use a plugin like this in order to upload the new zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/.

That is likely because some theme files have switched places between the version you are running and the current one. Did you try to delete the old theme files first before you uploaded the new version? Please make sure that you have proper backups for the site before doing that.
The PHP version needs to be at least 5.6, but I would recommend that you run 7.1 or 7.2 since all versions below 7.1 will not get security updates within a few weeks.

RikardNovember 1, 2018 at 12:30 pm #1028823Hi,
thank you again. We use php version 7.2.
No i did not delete the old theme files before. Could you tell me how to do this please?Best
November 2, 2018 at 5:16 am #1029001Hi butchermann,
You could do that via FTP – simply delete the whole theme folder then upload the new version. You could also do that in the WordPress backend – activate a different theme, delete the old Enfold version, then upload and activate the new one. Please make sure that you have proper backups of the site before doing this though.
