Hi there, I’m seeing the above codde on all pages I’m trying to edit.

I’m running the latest theme, WP and using php 7.4.
What I see is the page heading, then something like:

    [av_three_fifth first av_uid='av-us9ewl']

    [av_gallery ids='4643,4642,4640,4641,4639,4638' style='thumbnails' preview_size='portfolio' crop_big_preview_thumbnail='avia-gallery-big-crop-thumb' thumb_size='portfolio' columns='5' imagelink='lightbox' lazyload='avia_lazyload' av_uid='av-35oe3s' admin_preview_bg='']

    Happy to supply a link.

    Hey jnrdavo,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

That is the block editor shortcode field. You have to upgrade the theme from version 4.5.1 to the latest version, 4.8.6.1, and remove the unused themes to avoid conflict. After the theme update, make sure to toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings. This should remove the shortcode field from the Advance Layout Builder and help fix any theme-related issue the site might have.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,
We also have the same issue with a few sites. The themes are already updated, so didn’t do anything there.
I removed the twenty-twenty theme and turned the file compression on, saved, refreshed, and off. Nothing happened.

What am I doing wrong, and what else can I do to hide/remove the short code field?
    Thank You

    any update on my issue?

    Hi jnrdavo,

Thanks for the update. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.8.6.2) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thanks, that has fixed it. I think I was confused as my wordpress/theme was saying it was the latest..

    Theme Updates
No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.5.1)

I’ve since uploaded version 4.8 via cpanel and now I can edit properly again!
Is there anything else I have to do once I’ve overridden the files in the wordpress folder, or is that sufficient?

    Hi,
Glad Rikard could help and you were able to complete your update.
Please ensure that via your cPanel you have deleted the theme directory /enfold/ inside /wp-content/themes/ and then uploaded the new one.
You will note that the instructions for re-installing via FTP says this and you should do the same for cPanel.
My concern is that you are going from v4.5.1 to v4.8.6.2 and if you only overrite the files some old ones may be left behind an cause some errors.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Thanks. I made sure I cleaned out the old directory (backed it up first) before uploading the new one.
All seems to be working fine, and the problem I had has gone away, so many thanks!
