Howdy,
Always like to check in with you before I begin updating my sites.Any chatter about negative issues with WordPress 5.1 update and Enfold 4.5.4?
😀
Thanks!February 22, 2019 at 6:43 am #1070240Hey!
Not yet for me – I just updated several of my client websites to WP 5.1 and it’s all good.
Of course this does not give you a guarantee as it highly depends on which plugins you are using. However, always perform a full backup (data and database) before updating.
Cheers and I hope this helps
MichaelFebruary 23, 2019 at 1:43 am #1070523Yes, BACKUPS — always.
Thanks!February 23, 2019 at 2:02 am #1070525I just updated and my website is inaccessible. I can’t even login via -wp admin. It comes up with HTTP ERROR 500 or completely blank, white page on some devices. Any ideas? Thank you.
February 23, 2019 at 2:06 am #1070527rename your plugin folder via ftp, i bet it is another plugin that causes that.
February 23, 2019 at 5:41 am #1070561Hi id_lwb
Have you tried what @madsonic suggested?
I would go for this solution as well if you can’t access wp-admin anymore at all…Cheers
MichaelFebruary 23, 2019 at 4:28 pm #1070672Hi Michael,
Not yet. I think I can also do this by login in to my hosting company Bluehost and rename the file from there?
I will work on this in a bit. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FOLLOW UP! I will report back.Best,
LucasFebruary 23, 2019 at 6:01 pm #1070713Hi Lucas,
Please let us know how that worked for you and if you need any more help.
Also, check the server log for error?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 23, 2019 at 10:32 pm #1070802Hi Victoria,
I never got a direct response from support on my original post… Are you seeing any issues (in addition to the one that Lucas attached) updating WordPress to 5.1 and Enfold 4.5.4?
Thanks …

February 23, 2019 at 10:58 pm #1070806Hi Victoria,
Not sure which log, what is the directory.
I logged in to my hosting provider and renamed the plugins folder to plugins.old but website still is not working.
Yesterday, I first updated WordPress version, following that I ran all plugins updates except Photocrati as it still shows updates but I am not using it anymore. I then ran all native themes update along with Enfold. Following that, my site went blank.- This reply was modified 5 years, 9 months ago by id_lwb.
February 23, 2019 at 11:33 pm #1070811Hi Lucas
Yes correct – you can also direct sign in to FTP or its file manager via Bluehost, it is the same thing at the end.
I logged in to my hosting provider and renamed the plugins folder to plugins.old but website still is not working.
Ah no – please go into that plugins folder to see the actual plugins in there. You should rename the plugins in there, not the folder above itself (because this does not change anything). So for example the folder photocrati to photocrati-old or something like that.
Cheers and good luck!
MichaelFebruary 24, 2019 at 1:16 am #1070823Just tried renaming each folder, one by one and refreshing page. That did not work.
February 24, 2019 at 1:35 am #1070824Mh alright.
You could also try the plugin WP Downgrade to go back to WP 5.0.3.However, I do not have experience with that plugin so no idea if it actually does what you would expect.

always the savest method to do this.
February 24, 2019 at 6:29 pm #1070994Is there anyone from Team Kriesi that would be able to login to my Bluehost account and use File Manager to see what might have gone wrong and possibly bring the site back online.
Thanks,
