    Gday Enfold support,
We recently bought the Enfold theme and applied to our website, which had used a default WordPress theme for years.
However, the Enfold theme is not working as anticipated. We have used Enfold multiple times in other websites, and even on the same server, but this installation is not working. We have disabled all plugins (see screencast in private content field). We have also given admin access, see private field.
WE have also reinstalled Enfold. We have also reinstalled WordPress. None of these things have helped. Perhaps when you look it will be obvious to you what the issue is.
We are also running PHP 7.4 but have tested on 8.0 as well.
    Memory allocation is at 512M.
Please can you also cc any responses (if possible) to our developer, whose email is also in the private field.
Thanks for any help you can provide us, much appreciated.

Also, this is an error we have received:

emailed by WordPress system, to the AGPA admin email address:

    Hi,

Thanks for the video and login details. I wanted to check the content in your child theme, but the Appearance->Editor functionality is turned off. Could you activate that option, or share FTP login details with us as well please? Also, is it ok if we should temporarily activate the parent theme and deactivate plugins for testing purposes?

We cannot CC your developer unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Gday Rikard, thank you for your prompt reply. Yes, that is OK to temporarily switch themes and plugins for testing, very much appreciated. You should be able to access the theme editor now, though I don’t have FTP details per se.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I see that resources for the Layout Builder are returning 404 errors, so I wanted to check your site location on the URL in private. It’s not loading though, so I can’t check it. Do you have a backup of the site which you could restore maybe?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I just clicked my original link in private, and it loaded. I also clicked your new link, and it loaded. Maybe something intermittent?

    #1333366

I have since tested turning off the child theme elements (each css file and functions file, renamed includes folder) and then activated only the Enfold theme, to bypass the child theme. Still same issue in Enfold, unable to load the layout builder in the usually expected way, icons still missing. I also deleted the cache of the cache plugin (and had on other occasions deactivated the cache altogether).

I also have an addon domain dev site on same server that is running Enfold and child theme fine, which only makes things more mysterious. This hour I have ‘copied’ the theme and theme child to the live site (using the cPanel File Manager) with no change.

Please note there is also the File Manager plugin available in the installation, can act like having ftp access.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I wasn’t able to connect to your site at all using my regular IP, but I was able to once I switched to a VPN service. I managed to login and check a few things, but then it went back to not connecting at all after that. Could you share server error logs with us please? If you have FTP details, then that would help as well, since the backend of your site doesn’t seem very stable.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thank you for your help Rikard… could you also please supply us with your regular IP address and I will pass it on to the host to whitelist.
I have asked the host for server log errors, but with the timing, these may not be supplied to me for another 15 hours.
I really appreciate your help trying to sort this out, it’s been days of tending time here and there to investigating the problems, I’m troubleshooting but not sure where the issue is.
Once question I do have is: If I switch the theme temporarily, how do I purge all previous Enfold theme data in the database? I’d like to do that so that I can install a fresh version of the theme, and set the theme settings manually, instead of by import from the Dev site’s export file. I have a feeling that there may be an issue with that process., and I’d like to set it all manually. Though I know the database still retains the old settings, so i’m hoping there is a way to remove entirely from the database?
    cheers
    Darryl

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

There is a “Reset All Options” on the other side of the “Save Changes” button in the theme options panel. You can use that to remove the current theme options so that you can start from scratch. Just make sure to create a site backup in case you wanted to go back to the old state for some reason.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1333563

Thanks for your help with that Ismael, though it didn’t make a difference, the issue still applies. I really need Rikard’s IP address so the host can grant access, but he may not have seen the request yet.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. You can find my ip in private, please note that the IP is dynamic though, and it will likely change before you can give us access.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1333662

OK, thanks Rikard, though it does make it difficult to allow troubleshooting access if dynamic. I will pas it on to the host but I will instead see if the host can allow a particular country, are you/the IP origin in Austria too Rikard? We are in Australia so this timezone difference makes it very challenging to collaborate. It’s almost 1am here, and each night I wake up to see if you guys are responding. By the time the host sees it, you are all asleep, and vice versa. Let’s see how this goes, I’ll take a chance that the IP origin is Austria.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I get in now, and I can use it, but it’s still very slow on the backend. I tried activating the parent theme to see if that would change anything, but it didn’t. Are we allowed to temporarily deactivate all plugins? If the backend is working as it should on your end, then it might be better that you try it. Also, if you could provide us with FTP access, then we could try to upload a fresh copy of the theme for you.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
