Hey guys. Had some problems:
I manually translated all my pages with WPML from german to english. (manually, because the site has a very large structure and I wanted to make it very carefully). So I went into every page, and clicked onto the create english version and copy from the german page (not sync, just copy it, to change it later on). So i translated every page, built the menu structure in english and stuff. Now I am at the point, where I want to change the content and stuff. But the problem ist, everytime I change something and save it, the changes are not being saved.I tried deactivating every other plugin instead of the WPML plugins (that is what WPML told me to) and it does still not work. I tried to change the theme to Twenty Fourteen standard (that was what WPML support told me) and then it works. Seems to be a problem maybe with the layout builder? when I go from Layout builder to standard editor, there is no content being shown in the content window. So can you please check that. Thought it might be a problem with WPML, but does not seem to be so.
For your information:
I just updated the theme 4 days ago, so it is the latest version, I also use the latest WordPress Version. I child-themed it, but that should have no effect, due to the fact, that I just use a different style.css and some minor changes in the code, that do not touch the site-saving and layout builder procedure. Can you maybe check what it is? – try to set the page to english and then edit somethin.

try to delete all theme files via FTP and get a fresh copy from your themeforest account.
Best regards,
AndyOctober 5, 2015 at 4:40 pm #513914Hey, I did. newest Version and did not set the modifications (have a log php in my Child-theme where I list the changes in the original theme), the theme is now 100% original, the child theme just uses custom css, nothing else. But it still does not save changes in the english language.
Tested that, if my changes in the PHP made this, but they don’t.
Thanks,

I figured something out, that might help you:
When I save the page, I cannot see the changes in the backend of the page. BUT when I go to the preview page, then I see the changes.
But when I go to the real page, I see the same as in the backend. No changes. So:
When Changes in english language are saved they are:
VISIBLE in Preview mode
NOT VISIBLE in the backend Editor
NOT VISIBLE on the actual pagedoes that help somehow?

October 9, 2015 at 12:52 pm #516386Hi!
refuse from bumping into your own thread, because it pushes it behind in our queue and marks it as “answered”. Then we can’t provide a faster reply.
Please activate a default WordPress theme and check if the same is happening there too. Let us know about your results.
Cheers!
AndyOctober 9, 2015 at 5:52 pm #516612Hey. As I said in my very first post, when I change to twenty fourteen standard, I see my changes in the Editor AND on the actual page.
As soon as I change back to the Enfold Theme again, I cannot see the changes in the backend editor AND not on the actual page, but in the preview page I do see it. When I change back to the twenty fourteen theme, I see the changes everywhere again.October 12, 2015 at 10:59 pm #517743Hey!
are we allowed to deactivate all your plugins temporarily and change theme etc. for testing purposes?
What happens when you use the theme without child theme? does the same happen for you? Also try to remove any custom CSS or any custom code inside your functions.php, to see if you get any other results and let us know about your results with this.Cheers!
AndyOctober 13, 2015 at 7:46 am #517863hey guys, the functions PHP is untouched. I documented my changes in the PHP files in a seperate file, and the theme is 100% original, the version you told me to update in the second post. Yes you can deactivate all plugins and change theme. When you change theme you won’t see too much, because it is hardly usable in the frontend (due to menu and stuff) but, you surely can. When I change to standard theme (not child theme) the problem still persists. When deactivating all plugins except for the wpml then it does as well. When I deactivate WPML it does not appear (because the problem is in the english translation and without WPML there is only the german language). So I checked everything I can, I guess :)
October 16, 2015 at 12:16 pm #519829Hi!
thanks for testing and letting us know about your results. It seems pretty clear, that it is an issue with WPML plugin. Try to contact plugin’s author for support about it.
Best regards,
AndyOctober 21, 2015 at 1:23 pm #522280Hey Andy, I checked that and the WPML support looked over it. They tried to test it and it works fine, with the standard wordpress themes. There I can make changes, save them in the Text mode (the Layout Builder does not work for the standard WP themes). And there it is such as it should be. The posts work like a charm, but the pages don’t.
So it seems pretty clear to me, that it must be the enfold theme. because as soon as I switch back to the enfold theme, the problem is there. (even with WPML only activated and the fresh download of the theme from the page).October 21, 2015 at 1:42 pm #522291the link to the topic on the WPML page
October 31, 2015 at 3:32 pm #527909Hey!
Looks like WPML support got it sorted for you. Here is the solution for other users, https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translated-pages-not-saving-changes-only-visible-in-preview-mode/#post-733764.
