In WordPress page view, five of my 27 pages do not say ‘Advanced Layout Builder’ next to them, although every page was built using this. If I try to edit one of the pages without this heading I just get a page full of code. How do I revert to the Advanced Layout view. I’m using Enfold 5.6.12 and WordPress 6.6.1.
August 23, 2024 at 9:20 pm #1465267Hey FFAlan,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (6.0.3) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/.
Best regards,
RikardAugust 23, 2024 at 10:03 pm #1465269I’ve tried several times but get a timeout message: The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.
I’ve increased the size of the upload in my hosts php settings but it’s made no difference. How big does the setting need to be?
Here are my settings:Memory Limit: 1GB
Post max size 8MB
Upload maz filesize 16MbAugust 24, 2024 at 11:19 am #1465292Hi,
The zipped file is just over 20 MB, so try increasing it to 24 MB.

RikardAugust 24, 2024 at 12:00 pm #1465294I’ve increassed the upload limit and now when I run the update it says’ ‘The link you followed has expired’ I’ve downloaded the zip file and tried again, but I get the same message.
August 24, 2024 at 2:14 pm #1465297Hi,
When I check your site it looks like you are using v5.6.12. If you try to edit the pages and the default WordPress editor loads this could mean that the page was saved with that editor last, try clicking the blue “Advanced Layout Builder” button and see if it loads correctly, if so then save again and the page should then show as a ALB page in the page list.
If you need further help, please post the temporary login plugin link in the Private Content area below so we can examine, you can use any fake email address as we don’t have one email box of all Mods to share. To update try to download the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.
Best regards,
MikeAugust 24, 2024 at 2:56 pm #1465298Yes I’m using 5.6.12 because I’m anble to update it to the altest version. I’ve downlaoded the file that ends in ‘wordpress-theme.zip but it only runs for a few seconds then ends with the ‘the link you followed has expired’ message. I don’t even get the ‘theme is already installed’ message.
One the ‘Pages’ list in wordpress, most of the pages say ‘Advanced alyout builder’ next to them but the ones I can’t edit just have blank space there (sorry I can’t see how to paste a screenshot here). If I click on ‘Edit’ the page opens with just a /shortcode heading and the entire apge is in code. I don’t see any ‘Advance Layout Builder’ anywhere on the screen. Most of the pages affected have not been updated in months, so I don’t think its becasue they were last edited in WordPress alone. It may have happened with the update to WordPress 6.6.1 as I could get into the magazines page only last week without this problem. The magazines page is huge as it contains images and lists of articles for 118 back issues so would take weeks to recreate. Again i can’t post a screenshot so if you could look into remotely you’ll see what I mean.August 24, 2024 at 3:05 pm #1465299Ok I just read up on how to make a url for my images:
Try this:

August 24, 2024 at 3:32 pm #1465302Hi,
As for updating, I don’t believe that you are using the correct zip file installable WP version, in your Theme Forest account there are two files to download, on includes other files and documentation, this will cause the error that you see, please look for installable WP version. Otherwise please upload to dropbox so I can download it and check.
As for some of your pages without Advanced layout builder:
most are not ALB pages, but I did find one called “Magazine”
this was saved as a “block editor” page at one time and the reason that you don’t see the ALB button is an error in the theme version or a plugin conflict, so to fix without updating I switch to the “classic editor” at Enfold Theme Options ▸ Select Your Editor ▸ Use WP Classic Editor
now the button shows:
I then click it and the ALB page loads and I re-save:
and now the page is fixed:
please check and try this with your other pages.
Please note that your “About Us” page is not a ALB page, so if you don’t see code in the page don’t convert to a ALB page.Best regards,
MikeAugust 24, 2024 at 7:41 pm #1465310Thankyou so much for rescuing my Magazines page. If it was me who saved it incorrectly (you said it had been saved as a ‘block editor’ page) then how do I avoid inadvertently doing that agin? I just click on Update or Save and I’ve never seen an option to save as Advanced layout Page or save as block page, so how would I have done that?
As for the updates, I’m definitely using the second option, the Installable WordPress File. I don’t have a Dropbox account, so can’t upload it there, but its the standard file that’s on your website -I’ve tried downlaoding it three times now but lawys the same error mesage. The various screenshots are below:
