I have had a site for a couple of years where I had never had any issues editing page content. This morning I went to one of the pages to edit some content and encountered the following – see screenshot.
Content areas which are supposed to be 1/1 are not spread across the entire view area within the editor. Any attempts to correct the error by adding new 1/1 content areas result in complete duplication of the content. Not sure how this could even happen since all my other pages seem just fine when editing. It’s just this one. I am going to rebuilt it from scratch but I would like to know what the issue could be. There’s duplicated content – one which is correctly shown appearing just below everything squeezed into a 1/2 single column.
Hello? No one has any idea why this might have happened?
Hi,
Thanks for contacting us!
Did you have any custom code on your page or any shortcodes inside elements? My guess is those might have broken the layout.
Best regards,
Yigit
Hi Yigit. Thanks for getting back to me.
I did rebuild the page from scratch but did notice there were some <br> in an overlay on a slider (meant for mobile only) at the top of the page. This is likely the issue although I have never had one actually break a layout in the past even though Enfold warns of such.
Apparently, they DO break them from time to tiime.
Hi,
BR tag is frequently used and I do not remember any case where it broke the layout builder. Maybe some sort of combination caused it. I do not really know to be honest. If that happens again, could you please enable debugging mode for ALB – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#debug-mode and share the shortcodes of the page with us using – https://pastebin.com/ so we can try reproducing the issue on our installations?
Best regards,
Yigit
