    Hello,

Is there a way I can insert a tagline or slogan on the home page? In this case below, I would like to add the slogan below the logo and above the page menu…below Heater Hides LLC in this case.

    Thank you

    Hi Wisith!

Please refer to this post – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/add-subtext-to-logo-replace-logo-with-site-title/

    Hi Yigit,

I see it says “You can add subtext to your logo by adding following code to Functions.php file of your child theme in Appearance > Editor”

I don’t have a child theme installed right now. Do I need to install it first? What is the purpose of doing so? Can you walk me on how to do it? Thanks.

    Hi!

You can apply the changes without a child theme however when you update the theme changes will be overwritten and you will need to apply it again. That is why we recommend using a child theme – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/. After installing a child theme, you can simply activate it and then go to Enfold child theme options > Import & Export and import parent theme options :)

    Hi Yigit,

So I downloaded the Child theme from here: http://bit.ly/enfold-child

I got it from this article: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/

I followed the instruction from the article above, and uploaded the Child theme and activated it. I then imported the Parent theme settings. It seems the pictures and text transferred over, but the colors and font size are different. Please see below. How can I fix this? I like the colors and font from the Parent theme.

    Hi,

Simply saving theme options should flush dynamic css and correct the issue.
If you would like us to look into it, please create a temporary admin login and post it here privately :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

Please see below for admin login. Can you let me know what you did as well so I know for the future?

    Hi,

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the login details. I can see that your child theme is not activated, could you try to activate it under Appearance->Themes please?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

The child theme is not activated because I went back to the parent theme. Please see the pictures I posted on this reply: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/adding-taglineslogan-on-home-page/#post-768544

If you can tell me what I can do after the child theme is activated so it would look like the website I had set up in parent theme, I would appreciate it. Or if you want to activate the child theme yourself since I have given my log in information, you can feel free to that as well. I would just like to know what you did so I can know for future reference.

    Thanks

    Hi,

We would like to do this for you but we need to make sure that you can restore the site from a backup in case something happens. Please create a backup and update us here then we’ll configure the child theme.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
