Hi!
I am an absolute beginner and would like to understand the basics (!) of css a little better – can you offer or recommend a resource?
Concrete questions:
(1) A friend did some css-changes and after updating enfold these are gone. Can I get these changes back?
(2) What should I do (please step by step) before I update my enfold (with css changes)?
(3) Are there different CSS – like wordpress-css and enfold-css?Thanks in advance for your answers!

1. If he edited the theme files then no, there wouldn’t be a way to get them back unless you have a backup.
2. It would be best to add your custom CSS to a child theme so it is saved between updates, http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/. You can see how to create a child theme here, https://vimeo.com/67221517.
3. You can find all of the Enfold stylesheets in /enfold/css/.

(3) Sorry, I don’t find the stylesheets in /enfold/css/ … here I just see “Optionen, Allgemeines Layout, Allgemeines Styling, …” Can you help?

Those files would need to be directly accessed using a FTP client (like Filezilla).
