    Hi!

It is not about ” sespecting “. As right now we do not have a way to handle, we try to keep the process manual.
    That you for that.

Kriesi is working to push an update.
That issue is a false alarm of Wordfence which making the problems.
Kriesi is notified and as layersldier tam released yesterday an update to by pass that fake warning, he will do push a LayerSlider update as soon as possible.

We appreciate the patience and please note that there is no reason to panic at all.

    Best regards,
    Basilis

Thank you Basilis for your update and I do hope this fix is in Kresi’s hands
    to fix it.
Your suggestion to buy Layer Slider is not a fix.

I see from the support tickets over at Kreatura, who is the developer
of Layer Slider on Envato, that there own customers are asking
for a fix for this update problem.

Wordpress uses changelogs to notify website owners that there is an Update,
so does Wordfence Security Plugin, so there is an update, its just not installed
    and/or working and/or available to Kriesi’s customers.

It appears the plugin is not updating for their own paid customers
    see their support tickets here:
    https://kreatura.ticksy.com/ticket/1109231/
We will wait for the update to be completed by Kreisi, hopefully very soon.

    Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Victoria, Below is what I am talking about. Reported by Wordfence. Also, the WP admin core shows an update is available but no update to ANY plugin is shown. This is all relative to that Layerslider WP garbage that people are complaining about. You might want to make a new updater to 4.0.4 to fix this. This is ridiculous that a company of your caliber allowed this to happen.. Don’t those people running LayersliderWP have any sense?

    The Plugin “” needs an upgrade ( -> 6.2.0).
    Plugin Name:
    Changelog: http://codecanyon.net/item/layerslider-wp-the-wordpress-parallax-slider/1362246/changelog
    Current Plugin Version:
    New Plugin Version: 6.2.0
    Severity: Critical
    Status New
    Update includes security-related fixes.

    #765234

    Hi!

    Please ignore that issue.
Layerslider team will fix it, bit it is not something that requires immediant attention, as if that issue was true, Envato would have stoped layerslider from downloads.

Wordfence is an AI tool, so there might be some false alarms on specific things.
We appreciate your understanding and patience, we will release an update for the issue as soon as Layer Slider team fixes that false alarm.

    Thank you

    Cheers!

In reply to: Enfold update 4.7.3

    Hi,

About the Wordfence problem, Kriesi will take a look and return an answer about it as soon.

Now, about the warning problems, disable all the plugins and check if the problem disappeared, enable one by one to find the conflict.

Let me know if this didn`t work and share with me your WP credentials.

    Best regards,
    John Torvik

    Hello,
Just updated to Enfold 4.7.3 — resulted in a boat load of warnings. Will post in private content. Please advise!

Also, Wordfence is posting this strange update request
“* The Plugin “” needs an upgrade ( -> 6.2.0).” And then give a URL to http://codecanyon.net/item/layerslider-wp-the-wordpress-parallax-slider/1362246/changelog — is this related to Enfold update?

Obviously, my site does not have a plugin ” ” :-)

Will wait to hear from you before I update any of my other sites.

    Thanks,

    #765120

I’m using Wordfence, and got a warning today about the same thing – that Layerslider needs an update for security reasons.

    #765092

There are many customers here that purchased the Enfold Theme, including me.
The WordFence security plugin is alerting us that the Code Canyon Layer Slider Plugin requires an update.
It is not up to the security plugin to fix this, they are alerting us that, there is a problem.

Since we purchased the Enfold Theme with the Code Canyon Layer Slider as part of the theme, it needs to be corrected by Kriesi and the developer of the Layer Slider and whatever arrangements he made with the Layer Slider developer for updates.
Right now, I cannot update it at all. That option is not available in the theme itself.

Now, since we have this Layer Slider as part of the theme, YOU (Kresi) should have given customers the option to remove it – if it is not necessary and if it is necessary.

If it is necessary, for the theme to function, there has to be an update for that slider for security purposes – and that comes from only you. (meaning if we remove the slider files, will that break the site, we don’t know).
Since you are selling a product with someone else’s product – your arrangements should be solid enough to include updates to every part of the theme you are selling.

If this is not the case, then you should instruct the customer up front on your sales page with ENVATO and tell people that.

Further, I don’t need it myself but I would like to know how and where the slider is so I can remove it myself.

This would be the best solution to this problem as it will only get worse as time goes on.
Right now, the slider needs an update and that is critical to the security of the theme and our websites.

    Hi!

That is mostly an error thta the team of wordfance has to solve.
We have asked the layerslider team and wordfence to take a look and try help us.

We can only make sure for you that it is not hacked, as if it was Envato would remove it from codecanyon till it is fixed.

    Thank you for your understanding

    Cheers!

PS: Just updated another Layerslider-related problem feed with this:

I have just updated one of my sites to PHP 7.0, and am STILL getting this error message from a WORDFENCE scan (editied for privacy) :
wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file

FOR INFO: This Layerslider install is NOT activate or licensed – it just came with the theme’s last update.

Something is definitely amiss other than the PHP.
Can we look a little further into this please?

Just had an update from CODE CANYON stating that there is a LAYERSLIDER update
So, I guess somewhere between LAYERSLIDER & ENFOLD, an update error for the plugin occured.

Where LAYERSLIDER is licensed (as I have on one of my sites) – no issues.
This only occurs where (it seems) LAYERSLIDER is dormant, or unlicensed – i.e. as is, as it came with the last time it was updated within the ENFOLD theme.

I think WORDFENCE is just picking up the error.

    * ENFOLD * chaps – any clues/possible update…?

    Hello!
This morning WordFence reported the error messages below. I’ve checked to see if the LayerSlider plug-in is onboard our installation and it is not. If I upload a new copy of the Enfold theme from ThemeForest, will it automatically add Layerslider?

Warning: fopen(/home/gmcla0/public_html/gmcla3/wp-content/plugins/home/gmcla0/public_html/gmcla3/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/gmcla0/public_html/gmcla3/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4783

Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/gmcla0/public_html/gmcla3/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4789

    Same here. Wordfence issue: Warnings:
    * The Plugin “” needs an upgrade ( -> 6.2.0).

    #764837

Also seem to be having an issue tied to Wordfence/LayerSlider.

    #764782

I am getting the same issues as well with all my sites.
In fact, the WORDFENCE security showed as ‘updates to “” plugin‘ – in other words, blank!
    Need this issue fixed. Thanks!

    #764772

Different but still the same ;-)

Also I’m using Wordfence and receives the nag. I’ve also found out that there’s no LAYSERSLIDER update yet.

    #764750

Slightly different. My issue is the fact that unless Enfold provide an update to the LAYERSLIDER plugin regularly, it causes an issue when security programs (like WORDFENCE which I use) check for updates to plugins.

At present, there seems to be no LAYERSLIDER update via the ENFOLD theme, which it came with, so the WORDFENCE constantly nags saying that an update is available, but nothing shows when you try to update.

In fact, the WORDFENCE security showed as ‘updates to “” plugin‘ – in other words, blank!

Any thoughts please Kriesi and crew..?
    Thank you :-)

    Dear Support:

I’m getting the following alert from Wordfence regarding one of the theme files:

File contains suspected malware URL: /home/romereview/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/html-helper.class.php
    Filename: wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/html-helper.class.php
    Bad URL: http://www.link.at/
File type: Not a core, theme or plugin file.
Issue first detected: 2 hours 23 mins ago.
    Severity: Critical
    Status New
This file contains a suspected malware URL listed on Google’s list of malware sites. Wordfence decodes base64 when scanning files so the URL may not be visible if you view this file. The URL is: http://www.link.at/ – More info available at Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page.

My question is: should the link to “http://www.link.at” be there and, if not, what should I do?

    Thank you.

Is your’s trying to pull the images from https?

Are you running latest Enfold? We are still on 3.8.5 with WP 4.7.2. Seems to have happened overnight, yet cannot figure out what changed overnight. Turned off all the plug-ins that have background updates (WordFence, JetPack) temporarily, but does not solve the issue. It is almost like it was timed somehow, since so many are experiencing it.

    Hi Vinay,

Thanks! However, I really need to have the Wordfence Security plugin on the site. Can you tell me what might be happening from it so I can forward to their support people?

    Thanks!

    #753519

    Hi,

Thanks for that, I’m unable to access you site though because of WordFence. Could you disable that temporarily maybe?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

There was a syntax error in quick css a code block was not closed and we have fixed it for you.

However I noticed that you are using 2 plugins which may be causing this issue Wordfence Security & WP Super Cache.

There is no problem with the dimension changing but the caching plugin is not updating the css so for testing purpose I have deactivated these 2 plugins and confirm that it works fine now. Please enable the plugins after you have made all changes.

Once the dimension settings are changed please remember to refresh the page a few times until the old cache is removed by the browser and the new css is loaded.

Enfold Enfold 4.0.2 is available now, yes it works well with WooCommerce and you can update it from theme update options :)

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    #752908

    Hi,

    @Guenni007
    Thanks for your help! :)

As @Guenni007 mentioned, we have already fixed the false positive warning.
I am quoting Kriesi’s response on the issue

I will explain in a little more detail so you do understand whats going on here. First of all: Basilis is right. There is no security risk at all. Its a false positive.

In the file that is mentioned by Wordfence and other security tools (enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/html-helper.class.php) we got a php comment that explains what one of the functions does. The comment says:
//fallback for previous default input link elements: convert a http://www.link.at value to a manually entry
The link that is posted in that file is a generic placeholder for any link used. What we did not know is that actually someone was using the domain “link.at”. Apparently this domain got hacked now and is blacklisted. And this is why Wordfence thinks that the theme has a problem, because there is a link to a hacked domain.

However: This link is located in a php comment (its not an actual html link) which will never be displayed anywhere, can not be clicked, can not be used at all. It simply a line of non executable text. We will remove this text with the next update, however there is nothing you or your team need to do to your clients servers, theme files or whatnot since

a.) there is no actual problem, just a false positive
b.) you can fix the false positive by removing that single comment line

We will release a small fix for this issue to prevent any further confusion about it. But to be clear once again: this can not be used to hack anyone or anything. It’s a false positive and if you think your site has been hacked its certainly not because of this. (I would also doubt that its because Enfold in general, because there are no known issues with the theme but if you think you have evidence that the opposite is true please share it so we can investigate the issue)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

The framework itself displays, but none of the content. I’ve turned off all the ‘odd’ plugins. The only ones still on are ones that I cannot live without – Yoast, Woo, Wordfence, ManageWP, Clef and Akismet. All the others I turned off. I’ve flushed cache of the browser. I’ve restarted the browser. I’ve reloaded Enfold.

I then turned off Yoast. The layout builder displays.

I deleted, then reinstalled Yoast. I activated the newly installed Yoast. Once again, the builder will not display.
