    PHP now 8.2.7 (previously PHP 8.0.x). WordPress 6.2.2. Enfold 5.4.7.

    Problems:
    Slider not showing on homepage.
    Errors in server log (WPEngine host): (XXXXXX=my website directory)
    AH01276: Cannot serve directory /nas/content/live/XXXXXX/wp-admin/css/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,index.cgi,index.pl,index.php,index.xhtml,index.htm) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

    I’ve tried clearing caches, returning to PHP 8.0.x (how that has the same problem), updating the theme manually via FTP (overwriting files), etc.

    Hello,

    I’m experiencing multiple problems on my website which are visible in the comment section via this link: https://themeforest.net/comments/29774850

    As far as I know the problems appeared after updating wordpress/plugins because it was all working correctly a few weeks ago.

    I have updated the file with the code that is mentioned in the reply. It looks like the news page is working correctly now. After I installed the Health check plugin and I didn’t see any major things which are causing these problems if I’m right so that should be ok.

    Then I followed the steps to deactivate all my plugins and I was kicked out of my WordPress dashboard and the following code appeared in the login screen.
    Notice: Undefined index: path in /home/customer/www/video-expert.nl/public_html/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 1101

    When checking the website with all deactivated plugins, half of my website was broken down and didn’t show what It used to do. (A lot of text and features where missing on all pages)
    After logging in I was able to reactivate the plugins and luckily the website is showing what it used to before deactivating the plugins.

    Still I experience the following problems.
    – Header image only shows really small when the settings mention ‘show 75% of the browser height’. It only showed the text and some space around the text instead of 75%. I needed to change to a fixed amount of px to solve this.

    – Masonry gallery doesn’t show at all anymore on my homepage.

    – Mobile menu doesn’t fold anymore. Only shows # in link after clicking.

    – FAQ fold out options don’t work correctly. They all show unfolded while the settings are different.

    I hope you can help me to solve these problems. Thank you.

    Hi enfold-Team,

    I have a problem with this warning using slider review for posts:

    I´m using the newest enfold version and already tested to deactivate plugins. I can´t find a solution and ask you for help.

    Hi Hubert,

    I don’t think that you should have any problems running the theme on PHP 7.3, but we do recommend that you use 8.0 or higher instead. If you should need a different version than the latest, then let us know here.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi @boehmmedia,

    As already mentioned before: our loop-search.php uses the default WP loop.

    You must hook in the default WP search query and alter this to return the results in the order you need. Maybe these articles helps you:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52317953/change-search-query-wordpress
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9468804/make-wordpress-search-only-in-post-title

    But maybe it is a better idea to use a standard WooCommerce extension like

    WooCommerce Product Search

    Best regards,
    Günter

    Good Morning

    Will there be any problems if We update version of enfold theme to 5.6.4 on PHP 7.3.
    Or if version 5.6.4 of enfold support php 7.3.
    If php 7.3 is not supported anymore is there a way to download somewhere older version of enfold to update it step by step so that we can update php a little and then continue with updating enfold to newest version?

    Best regards
    Hubert

    When editing an element, I cannot add a space in any options. I have tried new Browers and Incognito browsers to no avail.
    Your current Enfold Theme Version Number is 5.6.4
    Your PHP version: 7.4.33
    Here is a video on our YT channel with more details and a example.
    https://youtu.be/_Bx5fOXzQgU

    Thanks,
    Jesse

    Hi,
    Thanks for the feedback, I’m not sure why this is occuring, I thought perhaps during the update an error occurred and left some old files behind, this typically occurs when someone tries to “overwrite” the theme files to update, that is why I asked you to try deleting the theme folder via FTP and upload a new one.
    I’m not experiencing the error on my test site, but you seem to have it on a few sites except one, are try all on the same server, do they all use the same plugins?
    Have you tried disabling all of your plugins? Are you using a CDN or server caching like object-oriented cache, or are they all using the same PHP version?
    It looks like a couple of your sites have some event listeners to defer javascript, stylesheets, & iframes in Scripts/CSS and wp_head hook
    Enfold_Support_2587.jpeg
    perhaps this is blocking the YouTube iframe from loading?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    In reply to: aria-hidden

    Hey Advantage09,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    You have to modify the enfold/includes/helper-privacy.php file and edit this code around line 1758.

    // Avoid that screen reader prioritize cookie container and ignore page content
    $screen_reader = " aria-hidden='true' ";

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    In reply to: Google maps

    Hi,

    This is possible but you may need to directly edit the enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/google_maps/google_maps.php file and add the aria-hidden attribute around line 878.

    $out =	"<div {$add_id} class='av_gmaps_sc_main_wrap av_gmaps_main_wrap {$add_css}'>";

    Replace it with:

    $out =	"<div aria-hidden='true' {$add_id} class='av_gmaps_sc_main_wrap av_gmaps_main_wrap {$add_css}'>";

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    I stopped using the “Contact Form Enfold”, but Enfold keeps sending emails from a Contact Form Enfold that I can’t find :(
    Please help.

    Hey zimbo,
    I have compared /class-avia-combo.php in v5.5 & v5.6.4 and don’t see anything that would prevet you from adding a comma after 'order' => 'desc' after popular / recent / comments code blocks and adding your code:
    Enfold_Support_2582.jpeg
    I don’t use Dreamweaver so I don’t know why it would show you an error, I use VS Code and don’t see any errors.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1413409

    Hi Obrmarketing,

    Thanks, I was able to access it and it seems the reason why you are having this error is because you are using the latest version of WordPress (6.2.2) and Enfold 4.7.4 which has been released 3 years ago. The only way to fix this is to update to the latest version of Enfold (5.6.4) and you also need to update header.php and footer.php of your child theme.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Issue of emails that keep sending from the Enfold form, even after I replaced the Enfold form with GravityForms.

    On this site until a month ago I used the Enfold contact form. Then I deleted the Enfold form and installed GravityForms.
    Despite this, I keep getting spam emails sent from the old Enfold form (which I deleted). EasyWP SMTP also notifies me of events of this type:

    I modify the code in enfold/framework/php/widgets/widget-classes/class-avia-combo.php to change the appearance of the Combo Widget.

    I have just updated my test server to Enfold 5.6.4 from 5.5

    The first edit I do is to the popular / recent / comments code block starting at line 176.

    I add this code into the ‘popular’ section:

    	'cat'	=> '-1,-31,-73,-89,-708',
    	'meta_key' => 'wpb_post_views_count',
    	'orderby' => 'meta_value_num',
    	'date_query' => array( array( 'after' => '-1 week' ) )

    after line 180, first adding a comma after
    'order' => 'desc'

    Now this happens when I edit the file in Dreamweaver.

    I add the comma on line 180, hit enter for a new line to allow me to paste my code in, and get this error message in Dreamweaver:
    “There is a syntax error on line 431. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error.”
    I haven’t yet pasted my code in, all I did was add a new empty line – but as soon as I do, I get the error.

    If I delete the new line and comma, the error remains (but now stating on line 430 because I’ve removed the new line). If I do add the 4 lines of code at the new line, the error message changes to line 434.

    I also add a line of code into the ‘recent’ code block after line 192. If I try to make this edit first instead of the ‘popular’ edit, the same error is reported from line 431 when I hit enter for a new line.

    Line 430 is the function get_post_list – but I have not been anywhere near that code. I note that Gunter made changes to the function in 5.6 and 5.6.1

    Any idea what the problem is to cause this error when I edit line 180? I’ve been modifying this file for years without problems.

    Hi, I’ve purchased enfold wordpress template long time ago and applied it to my websites for a while. However, recently when I upgraded the php version from 7.0 to 8.0 on the web hosting service, the whole website go blank.

    Do you know if the ENFOLD template is compatible with php 8.0? If so, do you have any suggestion of what I should do. I also tried to deactivate all my plugins.

    Thank you!

    Hi,
    I found this is the correct code for around line 874 before the switch( $contents ) on line 880:

    $meta_value = get_post_meta($the_id, 'headline_copy_for_homepage_tile', true);
    	if ($meta_value == '') {
    		$meta_value = avia_wp_get_the_title( $entry );
    }

    and change line 893 to:
    $title = $meta_value;
    assuming that your element is set to only show the title.
    Enfold_Support_2560.jpeg
    Now if the item has a headline_copy_for_homepage_tile value then it will show, otherwise the default title will show.
    You can add your modified postslider.php to your child theme, by first ensuring that your child theme functions.php has this functions.php:

    function avia_include_shortcode_template( $paths )
    {
    	if( ! is_array( $paths ) )
    	{
    		$paths = array();
    	}
    	$template_url = get_stylesheet_directory();
    	array_unshift( $paths, $template_url . '/shortcodes/' );
    	return $paths;
    }
    add_filter( 'avia_load_shortcodes', 'avia_include_shortcode_template', 15, 1 );

    and your child theme directory has the directory /shortcodes/ in it, and then move your modified /postslider/postslider.php into it.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
    Thanks for your patience, I found that if you edit \enfold\config-templatebuilder\avia-shortcodes\postslider\postslider.php on line 893 find:
    $title = avia_wp_get_the_title( $entry );
    and change to
    $title = get_post_meta($the_id, 'headline_copy_for_homepage_tile', true);
    your title will show your custom field “Ten guided principles”
    The only problem is that if the post doesn’t have a custom field no title will show, so I thought that if I add this before the switch( $contents ) on line 880:

    $meta_value = get_post_meta($the_id, 'headline_copy_for_homepage_tile', true);
    					if ($meta_value == '') {
    					avia_wp_get_the_title( $entry );
    					}

    and then change line 893 to:
    $title = $meta_value;
    it would show the title if no custom field is there.
    Enfold_Support_2556.jpeg
    but it doesn’t work, only the custom field is shown.
    Perhaps this will put you on the right path and you can correct my mistake.
    BTW I was only changing the title on line 838 because you are only showing the “title” in the post slider.
    I hope this helps

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey Blatze,
    Thank you for your patience, please see our documentation Additional Custom Cookies
    but please note that due to browser security limitations, it might not be possible to remove them using JavaScript or PHP.
    The only thread I found about GTM cookies seems to have ended unsuccessful.
    Other users seem to have a good experience with the Borlabs cookie plugin, perhaps it could be used similarly for GTM?

    Hi,
    If I understand correctly, you would link to have your category pages be in two columns?
    Try going to \wp-content\themes\enfold\archive.php on line 61 look for ‘columns’ => 3; and change to 2
    Enfold_Support_2552.jpeg

    Hi,
    Thanks for your patience, I can see a difference with your new images, thanks for adding them. I couldn’t see the difference with the other ones, but I believe this is because the color change doesn’t occur on all of the image sizes. I downloaded one your new original images and created a test page on my site with all 9 image sizes here you will see that only the
    Square Accordion
    Square
    Featured Thin
    Portfolio
    Gallery
    Entry with Sidebar
    Entry without Sidebar

    show the color change, and these don’t:
    original – Full Size
    medium
    large

    I then tested with another image from my site here and was not able to reproduce and color changes.
    Thinking back to what Guenni007 said about color profiles I tested your image online and it’s ProfileDescription is ProPhoto RGB with a ColorTransform of YCbCr.
    When I tested my image it has no ColorTransform is and the ProfileDescription is c2
    While I’m not a photographer is seems that perhaps this ColorTransform or something similar may be something that WordPress can’t handle when resizing the images.
    I found thread from 2015 that seems to be the same:
    images with the Adobe RGB Color Space. … this results in completely oversaturated colors.
    The solution seems to be:

    The problem is inside your Photoshop setting. Try Preferences -> Color Setting -> Color Policies and enable the cklickbox at Profile Mismatches and Missing Profiles

    Give this a try.
    or use a Image Magick plugin like ImageMagick Engine
    Hopefully you will find this helpful.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike.
    Read all below… then, I am not sure what to do now. please advise.

    I have my own rhel8 VM server here, and have been a unix sysadmin for 30 years (wow, time flies).
    I also had my own hosting/colocation company.
    Anyway, that said,
    Per instruction, I have added:
    add_theme_support( ‘avia_demo_store_downloaded_files’ );

    Of course, your instructions say “Functions.php”, note, on unix, case is specific, so I added it to functions.php.
    You might want to update your instructions regarding that.

    Then downloaded the file for construction.zip demo into my computer.

    Your instructions say :
    Extract it in \uploads\avia_demo_files\ folder. If you are importing Enfold 2017 demo, files should be extracted inside \enfold-2017\ so it should look as \uploads\avia_demo_files\enfold-2017\

    In my case, I’m extracting a demo for:
    Item Title: Enfold – Responsive Multi-Purpose Theme
    Item URL: https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990

    the demo I am installing is “Construction”.
    On my computer, my tree looks like this:

    [root@virtual uploads]# pwd
    /www/vhosts/alydarllc.com/html/wp-content/uploads
    [root@virtual uploads]# ls -al
    total 12
    drwxrwxr-x. 6 apache wordpress 62 Jul 7 19:17 .
    drwxrwxr-x. 7 apache wordpress 96 Jul 7 12:46 ..
    drwxrwxr-x. 11 apache wordpress 96 Jul 7 12:46 2021
    drwxrwxr-x. 14 apache wordpress 126 Jul 7 12:46 2022
    drwxrwxr-x. 9 apache wordpress 76 Jul 7 12:46 2023
    drwxrwxr-x. 2 apache wordpress 8192 Jul 8 02:12 dynamic_avia

    I don’t have an avid_demo_files directory,… and subsequently, I don’t have a “construction” demo directory.
    Your instructions are not clear at this point.
    I assume you mean I need to put it in “avia_demo_files/construction”?

    [root@virtual uploads]# mkdir -p avia_demo_files/construction
    [root@virtual uploads]# chown -R apache:wordpress avia_demo_files/
    [root@virtual uploads]# sudo chmod -R g+rw avia_demo_files/
    [root@virtual uploads]# ls -al
    total 12
    drwxrwxr-x. 7 apache wordpress 85 Jul 8 12:18 .
    drwxrwxr-x. 7 apache wordpress 96 Jul 7 12:46 ..
    drwxrwxr-x. 11 apache wordpress 96 Jul 7 12:46 2021
    drwxrwxr-x. 14 apache wordpress 126 Jul 7 12:46 2022
    drwxrwxr-x. 9 apache wordpress 76 Jul 7 12:46 2023
    drwxrwxr-x 3 apache wordpress 26 Jul 8 12:18 avia_demo_files
    drwxrwxr-x. 2 apache wordpress 8192 Jul 8 02:12 dynamic_avia
    [root@virtual uploads]#

    Then I tried to unzip it into the new directory:
    [root@virtual construction]# unzip construction.zip
    Archive: construction.zip
    End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
    a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
    latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
    the last disk(s) of this archive.
    note: construction.zip may be a plain executable, not an archive
    unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of construction.zip or
    construction.zip.zip, and cannot find construction.zip.ZIP, period.
    [root@virtual construction]#

    Upon further investigation, I discovered that I download a html file, not a Zip file.
    Very curious indeed

    [root@virtual construction]# strings construction.zip | head -20

    Hi,
    The login doesn’t work, please check.
    It looks like when your page loads some of the page elements load slower so the height of each section changes after the anchor section is in view, thus making the section show in the wrong place.
    I believe that enabling the page preload at Enfold Theme Options ▸ Theme Options ▸ Page Preloading may help with this, but if you don’t want to use this option try adding this code to the end of your child theme functions.php file in Appearance ▸ Editor:

    function slowly_load_anchor_allow_page_elements_to_fully_load_first() { ?>
      <script>
    (function($) {
      $('a[href*=#]:not([href=#])').click(function() {
      	var width = $(window).width()
        if (location.pathname.replace(/^\//,'') == this.pathname.replace(/^\//,'')
    && location.hostname == this.hostname) {

          var target = $(this.hash);
          target = target.length ? target : $('[name=' + this.hash.slice(1) +']');
          if (target.length) {
          	if ($(window).width() < 768) {
            $('html,body').animate({
              scrollTop: target.offset().top - 450 //offsets for fixed header
            }, 1500);
            return false;
          } else {
          	$('html,body').animate({
              scrollTop: target.offset().top - -150 //offsets for fixed header
            }, 1500);
            return false;
          }
          }
        }
      });
      //Executed on page load with URL containing an anchor tag.
      if($(location.href.split("#")[1])) {
          var target = $('#'+location.href.split("#")[1]);
          if (target.length) {
          	if ($(window).width() < 768) {
            $('html,body').animate({
              scrollTop: target.offset().top - 450 //offset height of header here too.
            }, 1500);
            return false;
          } else {
          	$('html,body').animate({
              scrollTop: target.offset().top - -150 //offset height of header here too.
            }, 1500);
            return false;
          }
          }
        }
    }(jQuery));
    </script>
      <?php
    }
    add_action('wp_footer', 'slowly_load_anchor_allow_page_elements_to_fully_load_first');

    I tested this with desktop and mobile from your other pages to #tickets and from your other homepage anchors to #tickets and this worked in my tests.
    I was not able to login and add the script and test, but I believe it will work, please give it a try.
    Please ensure to copy the code from the forum and not an email notification so the symbols are not converted.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi.
    I have build a new website – single page so far.
    http://www.AlydarLLC.com
    Everything is current (wordpress, php, etc), and the other sites on the server work fine.
    When I try to down/install the online demo for “construction”, I get the following error:
    “Download of file for demo Construction Demo didn’t work!
    You might try reloading the page and trying again. ”
    I cannot find any errors in ANY of the logs for the rhel8 servers relating to this virtual site.
    I see no errors in any of the web logs either.

    My web access_log shows this when I click on download:
    76.153.234.193 – – [07/Jul/2023:21:22:30 -0400] “POST /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/1.1” 403 17004 “http://www.alydarllc.com/wp-admin/admin.php?avia_welcome=true&page=avia&#8221; “Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/114.0.0.0 Safari/537.36”

    I cleared cache, reloaded site, rebooted server, tried on different browsers. No luck.

    I would be happy to install it manually using ftp, but the links from your other threads don’t work.
    Can you assist with the link and instructions to install the demo?

    Please email me – (Email address hidden if logged out) – with information/diagnostic steps.

    Yes that is a quick and dirty way:

    A way to have there a widget :

    /*** custom social bookmarks widget ****/
    function social_bookmarks_register_widget() {
      register_widget( 'add_social_bookmarks' );
    }
    add_action( 'widgets_init', 'social_bookmarks_register_widget' );

    class add_social_bookmarks extends WP_Widget {
      public function __construct() {
        $widget_ops = array(
          'classname' => 'socialbookmarks-widget',
          'description' => __('A widget that displays the social bookmarks', 'avia_framework')
          );
        parent::__construct( 'add_social_bookmarks', THEMENAME.' Social Bookmarks', $widget_ops );
      }

      public function widget( $args, $instance ) {
        $title = apply_filters( 'widget_title', $instance['title'] );
        echo $args['before_widget'];
        //if title is present
        if ( ! empty( $title ) )
        echo $args['before_title'] . $title . $args['after_title'];
        //output
        echo $before_widget;
        $social_args = array('outside'=>'ul', 'inside'=>'li', 'append' => '');
        echo avia_social_media_icons($social_args, false);
        echo $after_widget;
      }

      public function form( $instance ) {
        if ( isset( $instance[ 'title' ] ) )
        $title = $instance[ 'title' ];
        else
        $title = __( 'Social Bookmarks', 'avia_framework' );
        ?>
        <p>
        <label for="<?php echo $this->get_field_id( 'title' ); ?>"><?php _e( 'Title:' ); ?></label>
        <input class="widefat" id="<?php echo $this->get_field_id( 'title' ); ?>" name="<?php echo $this->get_field_name( 'title' ); ?>" type="text" value="<?php echo esc_attr( $title ); ?>" />
        </p>
        <?php
      }

      public function update( $new_instance, $old_instance ) {
        $instance = array();
        $instance['title'] = ( ! empty( $new_instance['title'] ) ) ? strip_tags( $new_instance['title'] ) : '';
        return $instance;
      }
    }

    and for quick css:

    #top .socialbookmarks-widget .social_bookmarks {
        float: left;
        margin: 15px 0 0 ;
        position: relative;
    }

    #top .socialbookmarks-widget .social_bookmarks li {
        float: left;
        clear: right !important;
    }

    but: these are only the social button you have set on enfold options dialaog.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the login, I believe the issue was that your immowelt script is designed to run on page load but the page has finished loading when you click the content-consent button.
    So I added this script to your snippets plugin so the script would run again when you click the content-consent button,

    function custom_script() { ?>
    <script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'> var guid = 'e6b542a2cdd64f518b77f7ade56d8d76'; </script>
    <script language='javascript' type='text/javascript' src='https://homepagemodul.immowelt.de/_scripts/iwag/homepagemodul/homepagemodul.pack.js' ></script>
      <script>
    (function($){
    $("[id^=ma-content-consent]").click(function(){
      $.getScript("https://homepagemodul.immowelt.de/_scripts/iwag/homepagemodul/homepagemodul.pack.js");
    });
    })(jQuery);
    </script>
      <?php
    }
    add_action('wp_footer', 'custom_script');

    I see that you don’t have a SSL for your site yet so it loads as http and the script is calling https, typically this would cause “mixed-content” issues, I didn’t see this but my browser kept giving me warnings, I would recommend enabling SSL.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    In reply to: Change search slug

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    The first code above (and @Guenni007’s recommendation) should work, but you need to ensure that you flush the permalink settings by saving the options in the Settings > Permalinks panel.The “Permalink structure” should also be set to “Post Name”.

    Please follow these steps:

    1.) Add the following code to the functions.php file, using the template_redirect hook:

    function ava_change_search_url() {
        if ( is_search() && ! empty( $_GET['s'] ) ) {
            wp_redirect( home_url( "/search/" ) . urlencode( get_query_var( 's' ) ) );
            exit();
        }
    }
    add_action( 'template_redirect', 'ava_change_search_url' );

    2.) Go to the Settings > Permalinks panel, select “Post Name” as the permalink structure, and save the changes.

    3.) Remember to clear the cache afterward.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
