I’m using the slider here on the “homepage” of this unfinished site.

PNG OVERLAYS

So for the PNG overlays, I’m actually thinking that I’d be comfortable adding them to the slides as needed via CSS, I could specify per slide via the DIV id or class and set the background per slide. I just need to know where to add my overlay DIV. It needs to be above the image but below the text – can you let me know where in the theme code I can find the markup for the easy slider?

MINIMUM HEIGHT

On this page, if you take your browser all the way in to the small mobile size, you’ll see that the image is only 115px tall – because it scales down in relation to the browser width. I want to somehow set the minimum height for it to be 155px – if it was this size I’d still be able to see the text without the slide navigation overlapping below. Let me know if that make sense.

Will get back to you in more detail on the rest – I think I’ve found the solution to these.

Hi Nick ! Thanks for the help. That simple option in the theme options > header > slide out menu did the trick.

I deleted the code you gave me earlier and tried to test it. The background image no longer repeats vertically, and the logo is alligned left. The new slide out menu is needs to be adjusted vertically but I think i can find the code it layout.css > /* All Mobile Sizes (devices and browser) */

What do you recommend for inspecting for mobile browsers using mac ? I tried using the built in developer tools + iphone 5 connected but I’m hoping there’s another option for this ?

OK, at least I understand your (Kriesi’s) way of thinking. I agree it does look nice, just a shame most galleries I ever create have more images than fit on a single screen! I suppose I could use the thumbnail with larger image layout but I prefer having decent sized thumbnails that don’t necessarily require the user to enlarge to get a feel for what they are looking at. Thanks for taking the time to explain though!

Thanks Dude. Unfortunately, using px widths means I can only go to about 200px before it screws up when viewed on smartphones (goes of the side of the screen), which is a little too small (need about 400px for my ‘thumbnail’ images). I guess I’ll have to live with it unless there is something else I can do?

On a similar subject, is there any chance the caption is going to be added back into the lightboxes in future updates? It’s a bit odd not to be able to caption a lightbox image.

Hey there,

Ive now turned off the background image in theme options and applied your ID Controls but now the png just fills the section instead of just doing a line.

a) How do I make just 1 row of the png?

b) How do I turn off the container top line just above my png

c) How do I control the margin height so that the portfolio starts further down the page but the container above it (the one with the x3 skills options and massive slab font) has less margin at the foot of its container

Open up enfold/js/shortcode.js and search for following code around line 205:

change it to:

and the gallery thumbs should load immediately.

I have implemented it and it seems to work, but my question is, why hasn’t this been written into the code for us? It doesn’t make any sense to have to scroll down a complete page of thumbnail images before you get to see them not greyed out! Now I may have to amend the code everytime I do a theme update, so is there a good reason this fix hasn’t been applied to the code for us?
