Ismael –
That’s great news and I like Kriesi’s thinking that is exactly what I was thinking would be a nice solution.
enfold is my favorite theme and I really like the ability to use full screen movies.
Do you have any thoughts on how to take care of the warning I am getting
Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: http:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0 in /nfs/c10/h02/mnt/176353/domains/oceanportalproject.org/html/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/function-set-avia-frontend.php on line 576
Best regards,
George
Thanks, I just tried the ftp process and it failed. It crashed the entire website. Even within the control panel, some admin pages would not load but instead returned a white screen with this error (where ..site.. is the username):
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ‘]’ in /home/..site../public_html/wp-content/themese/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/contentslider.php on line 394.
Please provide me with specific instructions to update smoothly from version 1.5.1.
I was recently asked to migrate a client’s website from our multisite network to a single site on his own server. I searched through some different topics and came up with a lot of complaints about theme owners having to painstakingly rebuild pages, import media files, etc from the ground up. I noticed one post that Kriesi made that made it extremely simple to launch the site on his new server in about 10 minutes. This is a little tutorial to get it done.
1. After you have set up WordPress on your new host, install your theme (in my case – Enfold)
2. Install any associated plugins needed
3. Go to the dashboard of the site where you are migrating from and add ?avia_export at the end of the url. It will look something like this – http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/?avia_export
4.This will this generate a base64 encoded option set that you can to the dummy.php file in themes/includes/admin/dummy.php of your theme. Replace the existing content with the new.
5. Go to tools on your existing site and export all content as an xml file. Once on your computer, rename dummy.xml.
6. On your new install, go to themes/includes/admin and replace the dummy.xml file with the file you just created.
7. Log into the dashboard of your new install, click the theme options navigation link (in my case, “Enfold”) in the back-end and click the import dummy data button. This will import all the images/content/layouts, etc.
8. Click the back-end navigation option for settings > permalinks and adjust your permalinks as needed.
9. Importing the dummy data imports your layerslider images, but you may have to go into your sliders and adjust any image links IF your paths are different. In my case I went from multisite to single site so I had to adjust the link prefix accordingly.
That’s it!
Hi there,
Very quick question, I have a staging site using Enfold Child, I imported the settings from the parent theme.
Is this the procedure you’d recommend transferring to the live site.
- Reactivate Parent theme on Staging
- Export settings from parent on Staging
- Import Parent theme’s settings on Live
- Activate Child on Live, import settings from Parent
Sound about right?
Thanks,
Jas
Thanks, Josue! That worked! However the red font is still appearing in the sidebar links and as the default color when a user fills out the contact form. Since the form fields are the bold pink color, it’s barely legible. How do I fix that?
BTW, YOU and everyone at Kriesi are wonderful! I love love love this theme and your support is incredibly helpful!
not sure if you were talking to me or not since I didn’t include a link – but my website is http://www.greggonline.com/
I don’t have minify enabled so you won’t see the issue if you look on IE9
to summarize the issues:
issue 1: IE9 black header and transparent menu when W3 cache has CSS minify enabled (to be clear – you can enable Minify on general settings, but you need to disable CSS Minify in Minify tab to resolve this problem). But….
issue 2: With Minify enabled on general settings with W3 cache, you no longer get the W3 input on the page source. this is the text W3 displays at the end of the page source to show it is working and usually starts with “<!– Performance optimized by W3 Total Cache.”
As an FYI – I did not experience this with another theme I tried. For me it is not a huge issue, but not great either since I want to score as high a possible on page load times.
So I have the Minify feature totally disabled right now.
Again, I am just reporting an issue – I love the Enfold theme and recommend it when asked for a theme recommendation.
Hi!
That functionality is already enabled for the portfolio single view:

Hey!
Try adding this code to the Quick CSS:
.team-member-job-title {
color: white !important;
}
Cheers!
Josue
I figured out the Gallery issue. I just need help with that pesky red color.

Hey!
Try removing the wp-content/themes/enfold folder via FTP and uploading a fresh copy of Enfold, use this video as a reference:

Hi,
I updated the theme to 2.5.4 using the Theme Update option within Enfold Theme Options. The problem of the responsive menu on iPad remains unchanged. The site appears exactly the same on iPad in terms of the header menu (see previous screenshots).
Some of my current Enfold Theme Options settings are as follows:
Header Type: Small Fixed Header
Append search icon to main menu: Unchecked
Responsive Header Main Menu: Display as Slide Out Menu
Quick CSS:
.main_menu ul:first-child > li > a {font-size:15px;}
.title_container .breadcrumb {
display: none !important;
}
#js_sort_items .sort_by_cat a{
font-size: 16px;
}
h1.main-title.entry-title {
font-size:24px;color:#000000;
}
.header_color .main_menu .menu ul li a:hover {
background-color: #eae2db;
}
/*ROLLOVER/CURRENT MENU DECORATION*/
.header_color .avia-menu-fx {
background-color: #423222;
}
.header_color .avia-menu-fx .avia-arrow, .header_color .main_menu ul:first-child >li > ul, #top .header_color .avia_mega_div > .sub-menu {
border-color: #423222;
}
.alternate_color .avia-icon-list .iconlist_icon, .main_color .avia-icon-list .iconlist_icon { background-color: #423222; }
#top #gform_4 input[type=”text”],
#top #gform_5 input[type=”text”],
#top #gform_6 input[type=”text”],
#top #gform_7 input[type=”text”],
#top #gform_9 input[type=”text”],
#top #gform_10 input[type=”text”],
#top #gform_11 input[type=”text”] {
width:474px;
}
Thanks!

Hello!
It is possible but unfortunately that’s beyond the scope of the support we can offer. If you really need it try hiring a freelancer for the job or if you prefer request a quote here.
Cheers!

The post is not filling the entire content area.

Hi,
I have the same problem.
Maybe I can speed things up if I translate the question so that everybody can understand it and try to help :)
We have downloaded and installed the enfold theme to our themes folder in wordpress.
While our WordPress is already in German (config.php -> language DE_de or something like that) the theme is still in english. At least I think that the labels for the contact form should change to german if it worked.
We can see that there are the .po and .mo files for German language in the language folder of the enfold theme but we do not know where we can switch the theme language to those files.
Best regards
Julien
p.S.: my test site for reference http://s517268118.online.de/
Hi I have just tried to update the Enfold Theme and had an error :
An Error happened when updating Enfold – could not remove the old theme.
This has now locked me out in maintenance mode?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Ian
We are finally ready with our website dedicated to mens’ socks. I love enfold’s features, they inspire me to use them in different personalized ways. We have used for example portfolio items with Ajax view to create a store guide to help our visitors find online socks stores easily.
Our site is here http://vanitysocks.com, I appreciate your feedback an comments.
Thanks for theme,
Mark
Hey guys,
I’m having an issue with the forums that I need to resolve as soon as possible.
Take a look at – http://codelessme.com/weightlossrebels/forum/
I have created this page using two columns as this is how I want everything to lay out and be styled. HOWEVER, because I have chosen to use the shortcode for bbpress, once a user clicks a topic, they are taken to the forum created pages, which have a sidebar and white background. The reason for the white background instead of the background image applied universally is because when I apply the background universally, no color sections apply a new color or background image. So if I create a color section with a background color of orange for example, the orange is still not applied, it simply shows the default main color image pattern.
I need to format the forums inner pages to look just like what I have linked above.
Can you take a look at things and tell me why a background pattern applied to the “Main” section of styles is overwritting any page specific color sections created? This is the first step to figuring this out.
Thanks.
So is this thinking correct?
Conclusion: You can activate a blog page globally in:
Enfold > Theme Options
And where do you want to display the Blog?
Lifestyle Blog (example page)
Or locally in Pages > Community Blog (example page)
Avia Layout Builder > Content Elements > Blog Posts
But you can’t enable both.

Hi there,
I need some CSS help and all I tried doesn’t work so far :(
(Please find the admin access below)
1) Sidebar nested Navigation
I’d like to style the nested submenu in the sidebar like in your demo: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/pages/contact/
I wanted to have the parent item to be font-size:20px, the other items font-size 16px. This css code didn’t work:
.nested_nav li {
/*text-align: left !important;*/
background: #f8f8f8;
font-size: 20px;
}
2) Entypo icons in navigation instead of bullets
I’d like to replace the bullet in the navigation’s submenu using my optional CSS class called “kartenicon”, so that users don’t have to copy the icon’s span-code, but simply add the CSS class in WordPress’ menu options to replace the bullet.
I used this, but it doesn’t show it in the same line:
.kartenicon .avia-bullet:before {
display: none;
}
.kartenicon:before {
content: "\E842";
font-family: 'entypo-fontello';
padding-right: 10px;
}
Could you please have a look?
Thanks in advance!
Daniel
I’m interested in redoing my photography site with Enfold. Anyone out there got a good example of a photographer’s site done with the theme?
Hi Josue!
Yes I did and their suggestion is to turn off caching on that page. Or if we know of a specific object / url that they can turn off caching for they can do that as well.
That page is our most visited page and so turning off caching is not my preferred solution but we’ll look into optimizing image sizes and see if we can get it loading quickly without the cache. Do you know the minimum image size for the standard masonry block?
Cheers!
Keith
Hi Keith!
Have you already tried contacting WPEngine support?
Cheers!
Josue
Hi, I installed the child theme for enfold and I am trying to customize the portfolio page.
wordpress/portfolio-item/test-project/
I added
single-portfolio_entry.php
single-portfolio_item.php
single-portfolio.php
single-portfolio-entry.php
single-portfolio-item.php
single-portfolio.php
to the root of the theme but none of them seem to change the page?
I wan’t to add a bit of php to the bottom of all portfolio entries content types
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Andrew
