    Hi enfold Team,
I wanted to create a single blank page without menu items and chose Blanc Template. However, I received the error message: Update failed. Invalid parameter(s): template. I then created the page normally, tried to switch to Blanc Template and got the same error message again. Why does it not work? Thank you for your help!
    kind regards,
    Karin

Yes, they said that it was a problem with the enfold theme.

    Hallo,
I would like to bind the above plugin in the following theme Enfold Hotel!
But I like it like about the Gutenberg with more sign!
Is there a way how to do this, or is that not possible in this theme?
Would very welcome on a kurzfristige message!

    Hey rosiet5,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Did you modify any template files in the parent theme? If not, you can import the parent theme options after activating the child theme. You can also manually export the theme options, activate the child theme, and then import the theme options back. Make sure to create a backup or restore point before proceeding, just in case. For more info, please check the documentation below:

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/child-theme/#how-to-install-the-child-theme

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello,
Please could someone offer me some advice about creating a child theme after I have already made modifications to the Enfold theme.
I want to update Enfold to version 6 and have realised I didn’t create a child theme when I installed it, and I don’t want to lose any of the customisations I have made so far. If it is only a case of saving the custom CSS I have added, then that won’t be an issue, I wasn’t 100% sure what I would lose by updating.
Or is it just a case of creating a child theme as per these instructions, even though I have made modifications? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/install-enfold-theme/#why-child-theme
Login info in private info if handy.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
after I put my website live the icons are showing as a rectangle and squares. While the website was in an other folder on the webspace, the icons showed correctly. I changed the URL of the website with the plugin “better search and replace”.
I tried the solution written in the documentation, as I put the code in the .htaccess file. The problem still exists.
The website is located at the provider Strato. In the customer account I can’t find anything abount “CDN”.

And: The welcome message “Welcome to Enfold 6.0” cannot be klicked off. The X does not work and there is no “dismiss” link in the text.

Would be glad to get support.
    Thanks, Sabo

    Hi all,
my easy slider that I am trying to configure in Enfold is not displaying correctly. I am missing some options.
I can capture the text. However, the capture is not displayed as a tab, where I still have the option to animate the text.
    All programs are uptodate.
    Thanks for help

In testing and tweaking a site for a good mobile experience, I’m reviewing font sizes. I adjusted the General Styling tab > Advanced Options: Customize Typography Settings, but they do not appear to take affect. I even deleted the Advanced Styling tab typography option that was set in case of conflict. I even cleared the server host cache, disabled the Enfold CSS and javascript compression and cleared the mobile browser cache. No success-–I can’t see the changed font size.

First : how about your WordPress Version – does it need an update too?
if there is a big difference – a major Update in WordPress too … make a Backup of your Installation – and maybe prepare your theme allready for that newest WP – see: Unfortunately, the theme is no longer set as sticky regarding the adaptation to newer php versions / WordPress versions. But that is not necessary and can be done afterwards
What php Version you are running on your system – there are a few changes that need to be taken into account. Especially the changes from php7.x to php8.x and the implementation of jQuery 3.x …

I have never had any problems with WPML updates and Enfold updates. However, I agree with you that plugins that interfere with many areas of a theme always carry update risks.
That’s why I already have a good backup plugin installed for most sites for other reasons. Even the free version of Duplicator is a very good program.
This program creates a complete backup in two files. A zip file with the contents, and an installation file for restoring the backup. Btw. this can also be used for migration.
So if major updates are planned, I create a Duplicator backup beforehand and can then make the updates without losing the status quo.

    ________________

Updating the theme – additionally you can update the theme by ftp upload : https://kriesi.at/support/topic/some-hints-and-advice-to-update-enfold/#post-1056107

Uploading the new theme takes a little time; if all goes well, the page will only be offline for the small amount of time that it will be renamed. You have the old installation as fallback. (there is no overwriting of the old theme)

    Update via ftp.

    • download installable newest Enfold : unzip the file – you will have an enfold folder now
    • Rename that downloaded newest version to enfold-new
    • Upload that enfold-new folder to the themes folder
    • Rename your (existing) enfold folder to f.e. enfold-old / in your ftp client (f.e. filezilla)
    • Rename your enfold-new folder to enfold / again: in your ftp client (f.e. filezilla)
    • Go to dashboard – enfold(-child) – and refresh your merged/cached files on performance tab
    • Check if all your theme and existing settings work to your full satisfaction.
    • Yes – then stop here
    • No – delete or rename back the enfold folder back to enfold-new
    • rename the enfold-old folder back to enfold

The product properties are not displayed in the shopping cart and checkout. We use Woocommerce and Visual Product Configurator for WooCommerce and it seems that Enfold overwrites the shopping cart with a CSS code. Instead of displaying the product properties (e.g. size, color, etc.) cleanly, they are sometimes either not displayed at all or displayed as CSS styles. This problem is caused by the way Enfold overrides the WooCommerce templates or how the CSS classes for these properties are rendered.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

Have you tried temporarily removing the avia_remove_main_menu_flags function before performing the update? Also, this function will generate an error if WPML is deactivated.

Enfold manually and there was another critical error on the site.

What is the new error? Please try to update the theme manually via FTP.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

How do I enable/disable the privacy feature in Enfold?

You can adjust the Enable Cookie Consent Messages setting; only two options are available: enable or disable. Since you can’t access the dropdown in the current browser, try using a different browser or test it on a different device.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hey Chris_85,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Have you tried editing the enfold\includes\error404.php file? Please provide a screenshot of the elements that you’d like to remove and a link to a product category page. You can use platforms like Savvyify, Imgur or Dropbox to upload and share the screenshot.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael
Good to hear that it looks alright on your end in Brave.
How do I enable/disable the privacy feature in Enfold? I did not see anything that gave clarity in relation to this.

    Thank you.

    Hey emelie_peterson,

Did you try to manually import the demo? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/import-demos/#manual-demo-import–using-xml-files-. If that should not work either, then please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Mike,

I understand the confusion of the PHP code now. I had pinpointed the WPML plugin as the cause of the issues when updating the theme as the site crashes when updating the theme or deactivating the plugin. The support staff member I spoke to from WPMUdev likely thought I wanted to just remove the flags from the site when I wanted to be able to remove the entire plugin to further test if it was the issue.

As for updating the theme, I just attempted to update Enfold manually and there was another critical error on the site. The token was just rechecked and validated. The update to 6.0.6 is sitting in the Updates page, waiting.

I’ve updated the staging site so it is accessible now. Credentials are below.

Thanks for the information. I don’t believe that the font has any thing to do with it. I do believe there is some inherent limitation with your theme. I have several servers with different server companies. I decided to do a text on one of my other sites that uses Enfold on a different server and company. This other site is on a server with only 10 other accounts, and the site itself is just a single landing page, yet uses the same amount of resources as the one we have been having the issue with. Same results. I can add about 24 or 25 rows, but once I go above that, it spins and times out. The only difference is that instead of going to a 404 page, it actually spins for a much longer time, then times out after several minutes.

Since it seems I am out of ideas here, I am just going to try a gallery plugin and see if that works for us. Thanks for your time on this. Hopefully you will note this issue for the next theme update you do.

In reply to: ENFOLD DEFAULT DEMO

    Good day Ismael

And, yes in response to your above statement with respect to W3 Total Cache plugin, I have used it always with the Enfold theme and never had any problems. This updating failed problem has only started happening in the last 4 months whilst designing on Enfold. I deactivated all plugins with the idea of activating once my site design was complete and have had a hassle free few days of designing and updating. Lo and behold, towards the end of today, the “updating failed” message has started appearing again. I have no plugins activated.

Please, please can somebody give me a solution or reason for this. It is now becoming a really big problem.

    Hello,

i work with some empty categories (product_cat) in woocommerce. Enfold shows some html in these categoies. How can i remove this html output?

    i tryed the woocommerce standard: remove_action(‘woocommerce_no_products_found’, ‘wc_no_products_found’);

this worked for a part of this HTML output, but not for all. Can you help me with this?

    thanks

B. „Datei“, „Bearbeiten“ etc. in Webapplikationen).

    Stephan Striewisch

We built the homepage for a federal company using Enfold. Now, very strict accessibility requirements are being set here. Questions arise about the behaviour of the menus and a general question about the focus behaviour:

1: On our pages, we use two nav elements (main menu and sky menu). These are not programmatically distinguishable (e.g. in a list of landmarks, as offered by many screen readers). To fix this, a classification can be given via aria-label, for example, to indicate exactly which navigation is involved (meta, main, etc.).
2: The roles ‘menu’ and ‘menuitem’ were used for the navigation, including the main navigation. According to the ARIA specification, these roles only allow certain child roles; but not, for example, ‘list’ (as can be found here in the main navigation in ‘submenu items’). This is an indicator that menu etc. should not be used for list-based navigations, but rather is intended for the web-based ‘replication’ of operating system menus (e.g. ‘File’, ‘Edit’ etc. in web applications).
3: Based on the rules for pop-up content when the mouse is moved over it, submenus in the main navigation should be closed using ESC, as they may cover up content.

4.: In the mobile menu, the state of the following submenu item should be communicated via aria-expanded.
5.: The mobile menu appears in the open state like a modal dialogue, but without the necessary roles and state descriptions. This can be ensured with the<dialog> element, started in modal fashion with .showModal().

6.: Browser focus highlighting is generally suppressed with outline: 0; a custom design is missing. Accordingly, the current position of the focus is not perceptible to users.

Do you have any advice for us on how we could incorporate the required attributes into the page?

    Best regards,
    Stephan Striewisch

    https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/translation/#child-theme-translations
