Hello,
I have searched for a solutions an tried everything I found at the support forum, but nothing succeeded yet, so i really need your help.
I tried:
1 add code to .htaccess and the web.config file
2 adjust CSS, i found two codes in other topics
3 the IF YOU HAVE TROUBLES SINCE THE UPDATE TO WORDPRESS 4.5 suggestion.
with all the changes i did a hard refresh and refreshed my browser, emptied cache etc. I use the newest version of chrome, have the newest wordpress and also I use enfold 3.6.1
But still the icons show not right in Google Chrome and Firefox. They do show in a right way in Safari, but not everyone is using safari. It is very strange, they where looking normal for a long time, Hope you can help me with this.
Best wishes, Eline
I could be wrong, but it appears that the ENFOLD updater is broken or there is some sort of a conflict that happens if you update to Enfold 3.6.x after you update to WordPress 4.5. Or maybe it is from updating a particular Enfold version to 3.6.
When I searched for the phrase “failed to open stream,” on this support site, I’ve found a number of people with similar issues that more-or-less take the same form. They run the update to the latest Enfold, the update crashes midway and breaks the theme, leaving them with an error that looks like this (missing filename varies):
Warning: require_once(includes/admin/register-dynamic-styles.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxxxx/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php on line 445
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘includes/admin/register-dynamic-styles.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/xxxxx/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php on line 445
After that error, the WP-Admin panel is inaccessible. One has to go in through FTP, change the “enfold” directory name to something else in order to “break the theme,” and only then can you log into WP-Admin. Once logged in, the only thing that seems to fix it, at least partially, is to restore the previous install of the theme. WordPress will prompt you and say that a previous update (Enfold) is incomplete or broken and asks you to retry. If you do so, it will break again. I did this whole process a couple of times.
Because other people are having this same error on different sites, it isn’t user-specific.
PLEASE ADVISE! Until then, I have to keep it at Enfold 3.5.x.
On a webseite there are 3 sites in which the copyright text aligns wrong. Website got a
its top navigation on the left side.
I know the page ids and tried it with padding 320px in the search console of chrome.
but i dont get along with targeting the right classes in quick css. Can you please have a look and explain me
how to fix that issue? By the way got this issue on every enfold project with top navigation sidebar left.
Thank you very much!
Hey Lucille,
1. I noticed that the menu link color is showing up fine but the text in the phone info and social icons are white on white, to fix it please try adding this code to the Quick CSS section under Enfold > General Styling or to your child themes style.css file:
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.phone-info {
color:#000!important;
}
.social_bookmarks a[data-av_icon]:before {
color:#000!important;
}
}
2 and 3 i checked a few pages couldn’t find what you mentioned please provide a precise link to the page, showing the elements in question? We need to be able to inspect them in order to help :)
4. To include the images in search result please refer to the post here https://kriesi.at/support/topic/thumbnails-on-search-results-page/#post-165009
Best regards,
Vinay
I did a brand new wordpress install and purchased the Enfold theme. When I import the Default Demo I get a success message and Save Changes. When I go to the live site it appears only the colors have changed. It does not appear any of the demo pages or images have been imported.
I did a search in the forums and I have added the following to wp-config.php and also contacted my host to set my memory to 256MB.
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);
After doing that I tried to do another demo import but got the same result. I also did a WordPress Reset but still no luck.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hi,
for this kind of function you would need to search a plugin.
You can add icons this way: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/adding-your-own-icon-fonts/
Best regards,
Andy
Hi,
Please try adding this code to the Quick CSS section under Enfold > General Styling or to your child themes style.css file:
.av-main-nav > li > a .avia-menu-text, #menu-item-search {
display:inline-block;
transform: translateY(90px)!important;
}
Best regards,
Vinay
Hi
After some more research I have now resolved this issue… at least for me.
For some reason the Advanced Layout Builder function on my site had become locked for editing.
To resolve this go to Enfold or Enfold Child (left menu) and select Theme Options.
In the Theme Options settings uncheck “Lock advanced layout builder” and save.
Avia Layout Builder and Default Editor functions should now be available in pages.
Guys… many thanks for all your help.
Please close this thread
I just posted the problem below and Vinay closed my topic out before the problem was solved. I also tried a code that he suggested and it didn’t work (please view the other thread from earlier today). I told him that and he asked me to rate Enfold and closed the topic. ?? I’d greatly appreciate an answer that works and the thread not being closed out until it does work. Thanks so much.
The headings in the widgets in my footer are a light pink. I’ve tried changing the color in General Styling -> Footer, and that doesn’t work.
I’ve tried adding the following code to the Quick CSS in General Styling:
#footer .widgettitle {
font-size: 20px;
color: #000000 !important;
}
Doesn’t work.
Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong here. I’ve searched other threads and I can’t figure out what this problem is. I’ve flushed the cache on my site. Nothing works.
Hi,
I know that Enfold has an option to automatically activate Schema markup throughout the site, but I would like some clarification on this…
I am building a website that includes 3 separate locations, so I intend to list all 3 locations NAP in the footer area using schema markup. I have done a lot of research on the use of schema, and I have found there are many small nuances to what to include and how to call for it in the website code, so as to effectively create rich snippets.
my question is, if I wanted to include a client’s location info in different parts of the site, but only use partial business info, say just the business name and telephone number, but not all of the NAP data, does your auto setting catch that and then properly format it for LOCAL BUSINESS?
Any additional info you can provide about how your auto schema setting works and what details is captures and formats (and where) throughout the site is greatly appreciated.
thanks!
Hi,
Please try adding this code to the Quick CSS section under Enfold > General Styling or to your child themes style.css file:
.image-overlay {
visibility: hidden;
}
.image-overlay-inside:before {
visibility: visible!important;
}
The search bar is located on top of the support page here https://kriesi.at/support/
Alternatively you can use google just type kriesi first and your question and google shows you the best answers from the forum or you can use site:kriesi.at in the search term as well.
No, you don’t bother at all… we are very happy to answer all your questions :)
Feel free to keep them coming.
Best regards,
Vinay
Hello, I imagine this is quick css and may have been asked before but I cannot figure out how to search this forum for past solutions. Is there a way to do that?
As you know, on Enfold when the user mouses over a photo, a red arrow appears along with a white overlay so the photo looks greyed out. Is it possible to have the arrow appear without the white overlay? Is that a setting or quick css or ?
Thanks!!
Hey Peter,
Very interesting project.
First you need to enqueue the 3rd party js and css files using functions.
example functions
Then check the script documentation if it need to be initiated and then match the class names to the enfold gallery.
or
You can use a plugin like
https://wordpress.org/plugins/portfolio-gallery-master/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/hover-board-direction-aware-hover-effect/
more plugins here > https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=directional+hover
Best regards,
Vinay
Hi,
Please check the plugin documentation for more info https://localise.biz/help/wordpress/translate-plugin/beginners
FAQ https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/loco-translate
If you search the plugin name on YouTube you may find some interesting and easy to learn video tutorials as well :)
Thank you for using Enfold.

Vinay
Hey stanbrid,
Thank you for using Enfold.
I’m sorry but I don’t think that’s possible because the default wp search script or template cannot return sections or specific content inside a page. It can only index the actual post types like page, portfolio, posts, products etc. Please contact the plugin author for more info.
Best regards,
Ismael
Hey namitadavey,
Thank you for using Enfold.
That is the default select element script of the theme. Unfortunately, you can’t disable it because it is added in the core files of the theme. Anyway, I checked the page and the predictive search is still there.
Best regards,
Ismael
I am also wondering if the search can be present in mobile view?
Thanks again for any insight into the issues that I am trying to solve within the Enfold theme.
Hey sandorolah,
Please try adding this code to the Quick CSS section under Enfold > General Styling or to your child themes style.css file:
I noticed the cart displays a box on hover with white text and white background below is the css to fix it :)
#top #menu-item-search.menu-item-search-dropdown>a {
color: #000;
}
.cart_list.product_list_widget {
color: #666;
}
Best regards,
Vinay
Hi,
I checked the CSS and Enfold settings everything looks right to me but not sure what is causing the search element to disappear. I believe there may be a conflict or a corrupt file due to which the search options is not visible on the site.
Please backup any custom changes that is added to the site and update the theme to the latest version 3.6.1 manually – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/.
That should fix any issues you are currently experiencing :)
Best regards,
Vinay
Hey guys,
so I thought to use the Layer Slider to make things a little cooler and it seems to have opened up a few problems.
Not sure if it’s related to settings or what.
But this is what I am running into:
– Slider does now show navigation PREV/NEXT
– Slider does not render on the Ipad
– the icons you’re seeing on my desktop version at the bottom ‘research, design, etc’ does NOT show up on any mobile devices Not on the tablet (ipad) and not on my iphone.
Any thoughts here?
Thank you,
Justin
Hi there,
We seem to encountering an issue with a drop down field on a Gravity form after the latest upgrade. Have read your post about and applied the changes but this hasn’t resolved the issue.
The preview of the Gravity forms is here: http://practitioner.researchnutrition.com.au/?gf_page=preview&id=13
The Practitioner Name (select your practitioner) drop down has a predictive type input, so three letters need to be entered before a suggestions are populated in the drop down. This is working completely fine in the preview as seen in link above.
However when added to the page and after inheriting theme styles, this behaviour is lost and the drop down just shows ALL names listed, see link below and form is contained on right hand side column. http://practitioner.researchnutrition.com.au/patient-resources/order/
Appreciate your help very much.
Many thanks
Namita
Hi,
We would be glad to help you with ajax login customization, but at the moment there is no easy way to do this by using a small custom code snippet, so I am afraid its out of the scope of our support. As an alternate solution you give some ajax login plugins a try here https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=ajax+login
But please feel free to request such feature at our feature request system: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
This system allows us to keep track of user suggestions and lets you vote on the feature you would like to see the most. I am afraid though there is no guarantee that a feature will get implemented. If that’s something you really need you can always try to hire a developer for the task :)
Best regards,
Vinay
I just upgraded to the latest version of Enfold and started getting an internal server error. I’ve tried uploading version 3.6 both by way of WordPress and by way of FTP, but with the same results. The main Enfold theme doesn’t produce the error, nor do any of the standard WordPress themes. I’ve searched through other posts related to this error and it seems as if deleting the enfold theme and then uploading it via FTP fixed the problem. That hasn’t worked for me. I’m including both WP admin credentials and FTP credentials in the private area below.
Thanks.

Hi!
Please go to Enfold/includes/loop-search.php and modify that file as needed

Hi Andy,
No, I’m speaking about Enfold’s search feature: the page displayed when clinking on the magnifying glass icon at the right top of Enfold’s homepage. Enfold opens a new dynamic page with a kind of default widget area that I don’t know how to change.
Please have a look at http://www.multimediatique.fr
Thanks
Hi Andy,
Even though I have come across this page in my research, I have not specifically tried the iframe solution as this did not cross my mind to be a solution to the problem seeing as the popups on this page are also being launched from a text link (which I completed successfully with displaying the form). The form is just a mail chimp enfold form that can be used in the advanced layout builder. it also has a shortcode which means it can be embedded in the div to display so there is no external content hence no need for an iframe solution. the method used to display whatever is in the popup is irrelevant here. What is relevant is to actually get the popup to display on the click of the button.
What I cannot get sorted is to get the popup to… well… urr… pop up when the BUTTON is clicked. Not a text link as in these solutions/guides. For more clarity, please check the link in the private content. Thats the url to the test page. When I click on the “Sign up for our limited time offers” button. the form should pop up.
I will create a sample page with all the solutions that I have tried, working and not working and then revert back to you with that page.
Thanks for the brilliant support so far. It is very much appreciated.
Hey kriru,
we don’t provide support for 3rd party plugins as written in our support policy. I would ask plugin’s author about it or search for another plugin with such a function.
Why do you need an external plugin for such a function? it’s a default function in Enfold/Wordpress.
Best regards,
Andy
Hi there,
using the search i found this thread which seems to be the last thread about performace/minifying etc.: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-minify-javascript-and-css/
According to this link, BWP Minify is still recommended, even if it does not officially support the current WordPress-Version and was last updated 9 Month ago.
Is BWP really still current and still recommended? Are there any experiences in using AutoOptimize and/or WP-Rocket? What settings may we use for them?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
Ümit
Hi,
I’ve added a woocommerce shop to my site and I can’t seem to make the shipping work. When going through the check out I get this error: invalid payment and shipping method. I know Woocommerce is separately from enfold but could this be a bug or am I just not setting it up right?
If you guys can’t answer this, can you point me to someone who can. I’ve searched everywhere for an answer but all posts are very outdated.
Thank you so much for your time,
Lisa
Hi
Some great recent demos … I’d like to see what settings you use and therefore would like to import one, but I already have active enfold websites.
I’ve researched this and the main solution appears to be to import the demo which will then override the current website settings – clearly, this will be an issue.
Therefore I thought I might have to open up a new dummy website using a domain name i’m not currently using … but don’t want to buy a separate license just for that (I’ve got 5 licenses already). This is also quite a long-winded process.
Any ideas how I can look at the front-end settings for the demo?
Perhaps I can just import a page or post – without the main enfold settings – so I can at least view the advanced layout editor??
Thanks
Richard
