    I have written some custom PHP – in the form of a plugin – to pull content from an external MYSQL database and display it in a Page. But that content does not seem to be appearing in Search results when using the default Enfold Search box.

    What do I need to do in order to get Search results from this external data?

    #698341

    Here’s the correct answer in case anyone else is searching for the same issues:

    1. If a seach engine spiders your Enfold site with the demo in place, it is going to register the links to the demo images. This will create search results such as …/home/desat-girl-m13/. At that point you will need to delete the image, as there is no way to remove the link. If, on the other hand, you have updated the images prior to spidering, then the links shouldn’t be found.

    2. If index directories are showing up in the results you just need to add ” Disallow: /wp-content/themes/ ” to your robots.txt file. You’ll need to use a plugin such as Yoast SEO to create and edit your robots.txt file

    On my search for the right setting to have a enfold singel author full width blog, i found a conversation in
    the forum which should have solved the problem.
    But the picture shown in https://kriesi.at/support/topic/single-author-full-width-blog-style/
    doesnt match how the Enfold Options look in my layout. (would have liked to attach a screenshot but it wasnt possible)
    So i wasnt able to solve the problem.
    Can anybody tell me how to proceed so i can have a blog, looking like shown in your “Singel Auther Full With” example?
    Thank you.

    Great, Yigit. Just to be sure:

    1) if I choose to hide Header Title (under Enfold – Header – Header Layout) and I in a text box add a H1 tag to a text, will the search engines then only find one H1 on the page (the H1 from the text box)?

    2) If I choose to hide Header Title (under Enfold – Header – Header Layout) and I don’t add a text box with a H1 tag to a text, will the search engines then don’t find any H1’s on the page?

    #697434

    Hey BirgitteAlstrom,

    Please try adding this code to the Quick CSS section under Enfold > General Styling or to your child themes style.css file:

    .title_container {
        background: red;
    }
    .title_container .main-title, .title_container .main-title a {
        color: white!important;
    }

    It is the title your readers and search engines see. If you add another H1 tagged, you would display two H1 tagged titles on your page. You do not need to add H1 tagged element as long as you are choosing to display title in title bar :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hey glitch007,

    I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However if its really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you :)

    If you like to get started on your own we can point you in the right direction.

    Please try some of the plugins that provide this feature

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=twitter+card

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=pinterest

    We cannot specifically tell you which one to use as we have not tried these plugins however they all should just work fine with enfold.

    Please check the plugin feature list you might find something interesting :)

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Hi all — The RESET ALL OPTIONS in the Enfold Customization > General Styling page is a dangerous thing to be leaving around for a client to play with. My clients anyway. Any way I can hide it from them? Have searched functions etc

    Hi,

    I searched and applied several possible solutions but still not get modify the menu text hover.

    work with child theme of enfold that you offer on the website of soperte and the latest version of wordpress.

    which would be the way to make this change?

    Thanks.

    Hi

    By default the enfold theme provides excess and useless links to Google. For example see link one in private content.

    That is not an image we use on the site anywhere. You can see a lot of people are suffering from this issue if you search “home desat-girl-m13” on Google. There are a LOT of results showing the same image on hundreds of sites.

    Where is this link coming from and how do I switch it off?

    Similarly lots of pages like link 2 are visible online, and also show up in Google results.

    Similarly if I search “wp-content themes/enfold/framework/js/” in Google I again come up with hundreds of sites. How do we prevent this showing up, and is it necessary for the index to be publicly visible?

    Regards
    Aman

    #696108

    What other steps? All that does is add a link that goes nowhere when clicked? That doesn’t add a form…
    Do I need to remove the changes I have made to the “functions-enfold” file shown above?

    Here’s what I got by adding the code you’ve provided, and adding a Custom Link to the menu – had to give it a Navigation Label of “Search”, or it wouldn’t save it.

    Thanks for the login details, please try the following in Quick CSS under Enfold–>General Styling:

    .search-results .slide-meta {
    display:none;

    I have the following text within a color section:

    <h1 style=”text-align: center; color: #f3f3f3; font-size: 55px; font-weight: 900; letter-spacing: 1px;”>MY H1 Heading</h1>

    It looks like this in the Avia Layout Builder:
    http://screencast.com/t/QkNbIvaYd

    However, when it renders, it does not look like that at all. It seems like the formatting is being overwritten. I did some searching here and found that perhaps I needed to use the Advanced Styling section within Enfold options, but that did not seem to work.

    Hi fine peoples,
    I built a site in Server Press premium with Enfold. When I migrated the site to live server. All was well except for the Layer Slider. The short code was on the edit page, but nothing else. It will not allow me to do anything with it. If I try to create a new slider, it will not except any information. I type in the name of the new slider, hit enter and the slider returns to blank.
    I have searched for answers online for 5 hours with no luck.
    Help please, Joseph

    Hey

    You can try using a more advanced search plugin such as this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/
    You can find implementation here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/use-relevanssi-in-search-instead-of-the-default-search/

    Hi!

    No, please change the following line

    <input type="submit" value="<?php echo $icon; ?>" id="searchsubmit" class="button <?php echo $class; ?>" />

    to following instead

    <input type="submit" value="<?php echo __('Search','avia_framework'); ?>" id="searchsubmit" class="button <?php echo $class; ?>" />

    then translate the string as needed using this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/ or edit language files in enfold/lang folder using this free software – https://poedit.net/.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

    still no idea what you want to achieve to be honest. This is what I see when I login to the site you’ve provided: http://i.imgur.com/0qwiSGj.png

    I think it would be best to search a plugin with the functions you need. Here is a recommended plugin list for Enfold: kriesi.at/support/topic/recommended-plugins/

    Hi!

    Please add following code to Functions.php file in Appearance > Editor

    add_filter('avf_frontend_search_form_param','new_search_placeholder');
    function new_search_placeholder( $array ){
         $array['placeholder'] = __('','avia_framework');
         return $array;
    }

    then go to enfold/searchform.php file and find

    		<input type="submit" value="<?php echo $icon; ?>" id="searchsubmit" class="button <?php echo $class; ?>" />

    and change it to

    		<input type="submit" value="Recherche" id="searchsubmit" class="button <?php echo $class; ?>" />

    I’ve added the Google Maps API Key to the Enfold settings on this website: https://mandelkind.pizza.
    As you can see, the map on the homepage is also displayed correctly – indicating that the Google Maps API Key is correct (if not, the map wouldn’t be displayed).

    But if I add a new maps media element in the Avia Builder and searching for an address for geocoding it, I always receive the “Google changed how maps work” error – despite the fact of the correctly added Maps API Key.

    How to solve this issue?

    Hi! We have built a conference website using the Enfold theme. Now we are going to advertise our conference at ResearchGate (which is a social networking site for scientists and researchers). The problem is that we don’t know how to install a conversion pixel and a re-targeting pixel to our website.

    Implementing instructions from ResearchGate say that we should place the activity tag near the top of the chosen webpage, as close to the <body> tag as possible. And the re-targeting pixel code snippet between <head> and </head> on our Home page or webpage where we normally receive more traffic. The instructions also say that “if you’re using a third-party platform like WordPress, contact them for more instructions”.

    Could someone here guide me what is the right way to access necessary tags with the Enfold theme? I don’t want to mess up anything by just trying something blindly.

    Hello,
    I have successfully moved the Search to the Top Bar of my site, and it works correctly. We did this by using your suggestion to do the following:
    In “functions-enfold”, I have replaced
    if ((is_object($args) && $args->theme_location == ‘avia’) || (is_string($args) && $args = “fallback_menu”))

    with

    if ((is_object($args) && $args->theme_location == ‘avia2’) || (is_string($args) && $args = “fallback_menu”))

    However, I am wanting to have the search be a text box that is NOT in a modal popup. How can I eliminate the “click to popup” search field, and simply embed the field instead? Also, need to make sure that the ajax results aren’t on a transparent background, and are in front of the navigation menu?

    Here is an image of what we have achieved on our development server so far:

    Hi,

    We set the language settings to “Francais” because the theme doesn’t have the translation files for the “Francais du Canada”. If you find any text that are not translated, please go to the Loco Translation > Themes > Enfold panel then click the “French” language. Search for the string and text, provide the translation then sync the files.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi, I searched the forum and found an old listing to remove breadcrumbs and tried it anyways. It helped but did not eliminate the entire problem. I want to eliminate “You are here: page name.” I found this from June 6, 2013:
    Hi! In functions-enfold.php replace:
    if($breadcrumb) $additions .= avia_breadcrumbs(array(‘separator’ => ‘/’));
    with
    if($breadcrumb) $additions .= avia_breadcrumbs(array(‘separator’ => ‘/’, ‘before’ => ”));
    Regards,
    Peter

    So I replaced a similar line and now have just the page name showing. How do I get rid of it all together? Thanks, Linda

    Hi. Love the Enfold theme. Have used it before (and re-purchased it for new client) but this time can’t get dropdown menus or search to work. Have deleted and recreated the menu and scoured the Theme Options but no-go. Help.

    Hi,

    Enfold uses default WordPress search function. If you want different result from WordPress’ search function then we recommend to search a plugin for it.

    Best regards,

    Sup,

    Love Enfold. Our business has purchased Enfold countless times.

    However, we’ve been having some issues as of late.

    1. Issue: Uncaught ReferenceError: wp_editor is not defined
    When loading or editing a page with the Advanced Editor, 90% of the time the editor does not load, instead it just spins for eternity. The only fix we have found is switching back to default and back to advanced. We receive this console error: Uncaught ReferenceError: wp_editor is not defined

    Please let me know what you think is causing this.

    2. Issue: We recently installed the Shop Demo, and breaks the WordPress media uploader for unknown reasons. Upon clicking “Upload”, no pop-up file locator comes up…. nothing happens. Not a big issue, since we do not

    3. Suggestion: Add more developer ID’s and classes for elements, columns, headlines, etc.

    4. Suggestion: Add more icons! Is it possible to pull from the Font Awesome repository? We have manually added FontAwesome many times to Enfold, but that takes time. It would be nice to have more than 300 icons. I also understand it is possible to add icons from fontello, but that is also inconvenient. Also, Icon search feature!

    5. Suggestion: Please allow us to add all google fonts available for “Headings” available for “paragraph/content” fonts. The selection for paragraph fonts is weak. We know about the function to add google fonts, but that is inconvenient.

    6. Suggestion: More header designs. For example, Menu below slider.

    I’ll also throw this into the suggestions thread as well, but please let me know about Issue #1
