Hi Rikard,
Yes, I did try both Chrome and Safari. I just tried a private window on Safari and I still get the spinning wheel when trying to access the Avia layout builder elements (see screen shot). BTW, this happens on other pages using the AviaLayout Builder instead of Default. Pushing this further, I managed to finally get to see the elements and modify them after logging out and logging back in. But this trick only last a little while since I need to repeat this step if I stop working for a while and I wish to get back to it.
I have also noticed that I have problems saving changes when working on modifying attributes or changes in variations on product pages. I must use the same trick as described above to regain access to product editing.
It’s very puzzling. Can you take a second look?

If I run only this plugin polylang the site is working again.
Now I see that I can update the template to Version (5.7.1).But this comment still appears in the editing window of the pages – as in the photo

I am running Enfold theme with child theme and since the last WP update I can not modify and save anything. It seems like the Advanced Layout Builder is not working properly.
So now I have downgraded to WP 6.3.1 and it all works fine.
Can you help me to resolve so I can upgrade to the latest WP?

Hello again, I have redownloaded the demo, deleted and reinstalled theme, etc. but was not able to activate the frontpage.
– After installing, “frontpage” doesn’t appear until I create a new page, then it appears for editing in the avia layout builder. However, any changes doesn’t get reflected (still shows the default page saying “Welcome to WordPress! This is your first post. Edit or delete it to take the first step in your blogging journey.”) no matter how many times I update the page.
– Once I leave the builder, the frontpage disappears from my pages list and I have to create a new page once again…The builder looks great and would love to be able to create my site via the demo. Without it working though, I would seriously like a refund unless you can find some probable solution.

I have been struggling with editing web pages under the enfold theme on my site for almost a year now. I haven’t contacted you as we had an issue with updating the PHP (now fixed). I have two problems. Firstly the drag and drop (of layout elements, content elements etc) feature of Avia Layout Builder does not work when I am editing a page. It only works for new pages. Once I have stopped and saved a new page… and then come back to it later then the drag and drop feature stops working.
The second way it does not work is that when I edit an existing text box… nine times out of ten I cannot see the existing text…. the box is blank…. even though when I go back to looking at the whole page there is clearly text there. Sometimes when I swap between visual and text modes I can see it but it is quite random.
The website is running on an up to date bitnami software stack on AWS. The other major plugins we use are WooCommerce and the cozmoslabs profile builder and paid membership subscriptions.

Hello all.
I had been working on a website for a client, and was nearly finished setting up all essential pages and had even gotten the blog off to a good start.
I had implemented the Enfold theme, which came with it the Advanced Layout Builder – which is a nice option, but I sadly found it missing several options of design or elements which I knew were available in Elementor (I’ve worked with Elementor on multiple websites – and have a license to use it and employ it to multiple websites). So – I opted to install the Elementor option, and ended up switching mid-way in my editing of the home/landing page (essentially the most important aspect of the website). The mid-way switch involved converting the home page mode for editing from Advanced Layout Builder (on which the Enfold theme is based), and used Elementor for editing this page.
Naturally, in my going and coming between pages and content and issues, I did not complete the full editing as needed for the home page – there were still some minor ticks that needed tending to.
When I later returned to edit the page, opening up in editing mode, only a small horizontal bar across the top of the page appeared labeled “Advanced Layout Builder” – with none of the actual editing options.
When I chose the Elementor editor mode – the earlier (demo) version of the page came up – not the elements and content which I had edited into it and saved.
I didn’t like the appearance of all of this, and so did not “save” this page in this mode – and opted to simply view it – and I was reassured (multiple times through the course of my attempt to regain Advanced Layout Builder mode) that the page was how I wanted it to appear -with the previous edits I had done – but I could no longer edit any more, as the edit engine of Advanced Layout Builder would not / could not appear for my use. Well, at least I had not lost my edits on the page for the appearance I needed.
I googled the following: “advanced layout builder not working” and it brought me to forums here on this website – and in particular a thread titled “Advanced Layout Builder not working after upgrade”. Had wanted to reply there, but that thread is now closed for further replies and input – so I’ve opted to post my story (and resolution) here.
I got the bright idea that most likely it was a glitch of the two theme builders working against each other, seeing as how I had started out with Advanced Layout Builder, and the home page (as I imported the demo that I wanted to use as a springboard for my website development) had been established using Advanced Layout Builder…and then mid-way I switched theme builders and incorporated Elementor on the same page already built with ALB, to insert specific elements and content.
According to the thread, the ultimate solution to correct it would be to disengage WP entirely, and in the process disengage the Advanced Layout Builder and even the Enfold theme, and then to re-install all with a new fresh start – essentially starting the website back from scratch.
Well, I was willing to try that – but most definitely as a LAST resort. I mean – although the network paging system of the website was still rather minimalist (Home, About, Blog & Contact pages only) – still I had already programmed at least 5 or 6 rather extensive and media-rich blog entries, as well as I had already established the official Legal pages section of the website (6 legal pages in all) – and if I were to disengage the website by uninstalling the theme and WP and then re-install again, I would be starting once more from ground zero, and all of those pages would need to be re-programmed from scratch. I had all the content reserved, but the formatting of those pages takes time and effort. And I wanted to avoid that if at all possible.
So, I figured, well – I’m heading towards that ultimate step one way or another, and so if I take a detoured step first, perhaps I can avoid that headache.
What I did was I deactivated the Elementor plugin entirely (I had installed and activated both the essential Elementor as well as the Pro version – complete with license to cover Pro usage and enable Pro benefits).
Naturally, before I did this, I went through the pages section to remind myself of which pages I had used elementor for the setup – and there were only two. And those two pages were also enabled with the Advance Layout Builder – and so, if the deactivation of Elementor meant messing up the programming or setup of pages, it would only be those two.
Once I had deactivated the Elementor plugin, I went back to the main page I was concerned about – the Home page – and first checked it for its essential appearance by “view”. It was OK. Now I opted to try entering into edit mode by choosing the selection “Edit with Advanced Layout Builder”.
Lo and behold! The plugin was now back to normal working order, and the interface of the editing mode for this plugin on this page (as well as all others) was now visible and accessible.
Point of the story – beware of employing more than one plugin at once on a single website intended for resulting in the same activity. In particular, do not employ two different theme builders in one website. They may very well cancel out one another, and may also even mess up the appearance of your pages to the public.
For my situation, as I had installed and activated another theme builder in addition to Advanced Layout Builder, the answer was rather simple – simply deactivate (and even delete or uninstall) the additional theme builder – in this case, Elementor.
Hope this will help others to find a solution to any issues arising.
I have chosen to use the Html5 Audio Player PRO plug-in (Version 1.3 | By Abu Hayat Polash) on an Enfold site I am building. Something I noticed right away was when I preview pages of my site, the link in the black bar at the top that normally is “Edit Page”, taking me back to the page editor, changes to “Edit Audio Player (Classic Editor)” with the Audio Player app installed. This link takes me directly to the plugin and is not something I need or want in that position as I will rarely be editing the audio player.
I first went to the author of this plug-in with the problem, but with our testing have identified that the Enfold theme is causing this issue. When switching to a different theme, the Edit Page link is working as expected. I also tried disabling and enabling plug-ins but that did not solve the issue, it definitely seems theme related.
There appears to be a small clue in the names of the links – with the Edit Page link it says “Edit Page (Advanced Layout Builder)” which is Enfold. When the link is overwritten, it says “Edit Audio Player (Classic Editor)” so it appears to be forcing the classic environment somehow?
I have included links to before and after images in Private Content from my Dropbox.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts about this (other than not using the plug-in) as it is disrupting my workflow. Thanks.

I am suffering from a problem in editing WordPress pages, where the content that is made available to the visitor on the site is readable, however, it is not possible to edit it. The editor goes into eternal upload and is never loaded. I don’t know what else to do, because I’ve done several tests with plugins and so far it hasn’t been solved. Even the editing of posts has a similar problem, where when I can make any changes it does not save.Thank you for your help

If I upload a complete new Enfold theme folder via FTP, it uploads fine but when I look in the Dashboard the old v3.4.7 theme is still showing and the Avia Layout Builder won’t load in the page editing window.

I have problem after updating wordpress on version 5.2.2. I have enfold theme version 4.4.1. After the update I am not able to edite my pages as I used to do for example editing page options first opens wordpress classic text editor with entire code of the page and when i scroll down there is Avia layout builder that isnt working properly. My preview option doesnt work as it used to work ( after pressing preview only opens wordpress loading logo and stays that way ) . Also when i create new page there is only wordpress classic editor and i cant style the new page is used to do.
Pls help me with this problem

Good evening Enfold friends,
After editing content in the advanced layout builder, there is no update to the front end after the page has been saved and updated.
We found a work around by saving the page content as a template in enfold’s advanced layout builder, deleting all the content, saving, loading the template, editing, and then saving and publishing, but that is no longer working – and ultimately is a very hacky way of handling what should be one click update.
It could very well be plugin conflicts, but we cannot determine if that is the case or if the actual theme framework has some bug in it that is no longer allowing pages to be updated.
This issue is basically leaving our client at a place where they cannot make any updates to their site. Please advise.

I’ve found myself in an extremely frustrating situation where the homepage on my website is now a blank page with my normal header / footer. I haven’t logged on in a number of months and wanted to edit some sections this evening. Upon logging in I noticed that WordPress had upgraded and now when clicking “edit” on the home page from the “pages” tab there is now a great deal of code at the top of the page. When I scroll down for quite a ways I get back to the Avia Layout Builder that used to be at the top. (I would love to view the builder like it was a few months ago.) Long story short, I started editing some colors on sections and wanted to see how they looked. Normally I just click preview and it works. This time it didn’t refresh the preview and it just showed the same color scheme unless I clicked update. Upon playing with the new colors I realized the update feature began to not work any longer as well. I tried clicking the “revisions” tab that to see if I can roll back the revisions I had made but instead it completely removed the entire page to where it is blank now. There is obviously some bug that is beyond my novice abilities with WordPress.
After doing some research I’m seeing that there have been a number of updates released since I last logged in. I tried upgrading WordPress and all the plugins, but couldn’t figure out how to upgrade the Enfold theme. Could this be the issue that I’ve run into? It appears I’m only running 4.2. Either way, it seems that my work is still available under revisions, I just can’t apparently load it nor view it when I click preview or update any longer. Any help on what I need to do to get back to my normal site would be much appreciated.

I am on the staging environment for the website and it’s acting super bizarre. And it is being very slow on the backend.
1) If you go to edit a page or add a new page, you can’t load the advanced layout editor
2) if you duplicate an existing page or try to edit an existing page, nothing loads. you don’t see anything in the builder except for white codePlease find login details in the private content.

Hello, our website for the most part is established so we don’t make changes often. I noticed a couple months ago that the “classic” editor appeared above the regular avia layout builder in pages. I the midst of editing one of my pages, I decided it was easier to simply delete it and create a new one (I have multiple clones built in avia to simplify this step). When I created a new page, I noticed the Avia Layout builder was and still is gone. The only option I have is to use the classic editor. How do I resolve this? Avia is still working on my other pages, but I’m hesitant to make additional changes in fear that it will somehow delete more data. Please advise.

I have a problem with the Avia Layout Builder not working.
When creating new pages the advanced layout editor isn’t working, and when making the pages in the default editor they can’t be saved.When editing existing pages with the advanced layout editor, the text block editor does not show anything everything is white and it si not possible to switch betwen visuel and text editor, also no preview is visible.
I have already tried deactivating all plugins, but it did not solve the problem.

Also, now I am not able to edit any page because of an avia-builder.js error. The builder stalls there loading forever and nothing happens. Changing to classic is not working, so I cant edit or add anything.

Hi,
Polylang works fine with enfold. I also would like to let the automatic translate function over Lingotek translate the pages. That works fine basically but Lingotek seems to destroy the advanced layout builder code, meaning the shortcodes.
Do you have a known solution for that or do you recommend another automatic translation solution that is easier? It is for me ok if everything is automatically translated. no need for editing the other languages.

Our host provider updated to PHP 7.2. After this update, our website broke (white screen) and in the backend, Avia Layout Builder would not load at all. After some debugging I was able to get the site to load with some missing functionality and Avia Layout Builder to load but it was not working properly. I was unable to edit any pages – as soon as I pressed Update it would revert to the previous version. Also many editing options would not load (no option to add a button, for instance). It seems one fatal error comes up after another, too many to debug. I was able to revert back to the previous version (PHP 5.6) and everything works as it should. We are running Enfold 4.4.1 since June 2018. In December 2018, our host provider will switch permanently to PHP 7.2. How can we make sure that our WordPress website will work with PHP 7.2?

After some work on a website last week, including an upgrade to Enfold version 4.2.6 and even to version 4.3 I was given notice that there could not be added any new messages or editing existing ones for the Visual Text Editor would not work. I did some quick checking and the client was right, it was not working properly, just as described. Also the pages etc. gave the same problem.
I went to this sites forum and read numerous posts but the following one came closest: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/visual-text-editor-not-working-with-wp-4-5-2-and-enfold-3-5-4/ We did have the same issue, the text was printed white on a white background, but besides that the editor was lacking any feature.

In my case I tried all of it but nothing seems to be wrong but the site would still not load. I tried various browsers, even a different computer but nothing changed. Cleared the cache etc.
Then all of a sudden I realised I had made some “safety precautions” to the site by using .htacces files. I use the .htacces file in my wp-admin area to avoid stranger IP adresses being able to reach the login page. Because that worked so good I used some more .htaccess files, the help and info coming from this site: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/9-most-useful-htaccess-tricks-for-wordpress/
I have opened the site by FTP program, renamed all the .htaccess files I added to .htaccess.old and then tried again. WORKED! So the next step was easy; eliminate one by one and I found out that the .htaccess file in the wp-includes folder was causing this issue. So I removed that one from the site. In the last link I provided it is paragraph 4. The content of given .htacces file was this:

To Kriesi: maybe this solution is helpfull in case you cannot find the answer… you never know what users do!

Basically, our desire is to be able to easily add/edit the title (and alt) attributes to images with a minimum amount of effort.
Ideally we would like to edit these properties on all images only once in the WP Media Library and see them reflected on all pages.
This seems to work well when adding images as Image Elements in the layout builder. Title and alt texts are picked up from the image in the media library.
However, when adding an image by the “Add Media” button inside of a text block, I have found that the image is disconnected from the media library and no longer reflects image and alt texts from the library. Alt text is copied, but I have to manually add the title text to the field “Image title attribute” under the Advanced options section when editing the image details. For some reason this field does not populate automatically with the title text from the media library.1. Am I right in thinking that images added through “Add Media” inside a text block become disconnected, i.e. the image title in the library is now overriden by whatever is in the field “Image title attribute” of this particular image instance in this particular text block?
2. When adding the image to the text block with “Add Media”, the add media popup is displayed, together with an image details pane to the right. Here the title and alt texts from the library are displayed. However the title text is not inserted to “Image title attribute” under advanced options when accepting the dialog. Is this a bug or working as intended? Is it possible to make it auto insert?
3. Do you know any better way to make all images, regardless if they are inserted into a text block or not, always reflect the title and alt texts from the WP Media Library?
We are relatively new to WP and Enfold and find the title text handling confusing. Ideally we want to make the process of adding image title texts to (many) inserted images as clear and straightforward as possible to our customer. At the moment the process seems quite convoluted and non-uniform unless I’m missing something.

Avia Layout Builder (ALB) is working fine for new pages and new elements, but typing is not functioning for editing existing Elements of existing pages except “Text Block” Element.
I’ve tried the following already:
Update to Enfold ver 4.2.6 , WordPress 4.9.4
Disable the visual editor when writing
Disable syntax highlighting when editing code
Disable ALB element preview
Remove entire cache in CloudFlare

No, you can not use them together.
html tags show up in the text section and not in the visual section
Yes this is how the text section works, but the shortcodes will not show there, this is by design.
You can enable the Avia Layout Builder Debug to view and edit the shortcodesWhen using the default editor, why is the short code [shortcode ] text and brackets showing up in the Visual section
Yes you can see the shortcodes, but this is due to an incompatibility between the default editor and the advanced editor. Editing the shortcodes this way will brake the codes.
WHen you are in my wordpress backend, please check out all pages and you will see what I am talking about.
Yes I see, but I believe this is because the code was broken by using the default editor, I have tried to recreate your home page and it is working correctly. I have also set the new page as the frontpage to show it works.

I’m having the same issue with Avia Layout Builder since upgrading to v4.2 of Enfold. Clone and delete elements seems to work intermittently at best. Repositioning elements does not take affect until I publish / update the page (e.g., I can not preview the page). If I can get the page to preview, going back to the page causes Avia to freeze – e.g., it never loads on the page I’m editing. I have to go back to “All pages” and edit the page again (loosing all the changes I was working on).
Hi. I have some very strange problems with editing pages and it took me a while to find it out. It seems there is a problem with the page builder on the website. So I just add some things I see. Because a lot of things seem wrong, I can’t describe all, but I suppose these problems will give a good view on what in general could be the problem:
1. Basicly if I open a existing page I get shortcodes instead of the page builder.
If I switch to the page builder and add a column and safe the page, I’ll end up with the normal text editor again and the column is gone.2. If I use the DT shortcode to create the page, it seems to work. At least I can save the page and the changes will be saved as well.
Problem is that the shortcode [dt_sc_recent_properties filter=”property_type” id=”” view=”list” count=”3″/] gives me the message that no properties are available. This while we have a lot of properties in the database.
If I add this shortcode I will get a blank page saying the page isn’t working: [dt_sc_recent_properties columns=”3″ count=”90″/] If I lower the number 90 It will go good using only 10 properties. If I put 11 it goes wrong, with only 9 properties its ok.
So the filter doesn’t seem to work and I can’t add more than 10 properties.On older pages, that I didn’t edit sinds I found out about these problems, still have 100 as “count” and working without problems.
3. If I add this shortcode: [dt_sc_recent_properties filter=”property_type” id=”” view=”list” count=”10″/]
It will say I have no properties. If I add this shortcode is shows the first 10 perfect: [dt_sc_recent_properties id=”” view=”list” count=”10″/] If I put more than 10 properties I will have the blank page again like mentioned above. I used to have 100 properties listed.4. If you list 10 recent properties with the shortcode above, I get no pagination to view more properties. So how do I show all properties?
5. If I go to the settings of the Real Property Child I can set that Page Builder is active for various pages. If I activate this for pages I still have the normal editor when I edit a page. I can activate Page Builder in that page but when I save the page all is gone (empty page) and I have the normal editor again. If I activate the page builder again I do get the setup again I made before saving.
6. Google:
If I go to google and search site:propertyespana.com/dt_properties/magnifico-apartamento-249-m2-con-aparcamiento-en-bocairent/?lang=es the page is not known. If I do the same for the dutch translation it is known: site: site:propertyespana.com/dt_properties/schitterend-appartement-249-m2-parkeerplaatsen-bocairent/
All english and Spanish properties are unknown by google while the website is online already long time.

Hi, I see that there are many many issues reported with the builder in the enfold theme and some of them have it correct when they mention the SSL. I recently added an SSL cert to my site and changed the website link to a https from the http designation.
When on https the Avia builder just has a loading circle that never actually opens, and the tags on the page do not open nor does the yoast seo details. This issue can be fixed by
1) changing the pages back to http
2) cloning the page, deleting the old one and editing on the new clone (this works for a few update presses)I have disabled all plugins like many people and still no help.
I mention these details as this is definitely an issue with the theme, avia and ssl. There are too many people with this problem and no solution so I am guessing we need to wait for an update.
In the mean time I change my url back to a http in the general settings to edit any pages. Then when I am done switch it back to a https if this is any help for anyone still having the issue
