    The difference is that your example page has thumbnails that scale nicely.

    It’s not ideal, but at least it looks ok-ish..

    my thumbnails dont scale well at all, they basically get cut into thinner stips. so on mobile my portraits thumbs, instead of showing the whole face, show half an eye and a bit of ear… horrible.

    I regenerated all thumbnails again, but there is no scaling still.

    Very frustrating… especially since otherwise your theme actually loks really good.

    Hi, content of blog thumbnails looks perfect now. I add also: .big-preview img {width: 100%;height: 100%;} cause in some places pictures was out of proportions, and this: #top .news-thumb img {width: 100%;height: 100%;} improve appearance of small thumbs in sidebar. Thanks for help and good suggestions. Maybe it’s not bad idea to gather css quick solutions for IE, and conditional style to header.php. Best regards.

    Hello I am just wondering how to fix my problem with my Portfolio Thumbnails. They look very poor quality and kind of yellow color… but when you click the images, they look perfect.

    Hi darkcanvas,

    Not sure why you would want to as space isn’t really an issue for hosting any longer. I don’t think they can be unhooked via a child theme so you would need to remove the ones you don’t want created in the functions file in the main theme.

    Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    #top.page-id-1739 .entry-content .avia-gallery-1 .avia-gallery-thumb img {
    
border: none;
    
}

    To break it down:

    #top.page-id-1739 – The top ID and class of .page-id-1739 to only have the css after effect *this* page.

    .entry-content – Only the entry content for this page

    .avia-gallery-1 – the specific gallery within the entry content in case you had multiple galleries within the entry-content

    .avia-gallery-thumb – Thumbnail section only

    img – The images inside the thumbnail section which has the border

    {border: none;} – border declaration with a property of none or you could use border-wdith: 0px .

    I have no idea about the permalink though.

    Hi,

    I have chosen a 3-column portfolio grid display, but I see that it distributes the columns right next to each other and in order to fill the width of the page, it makes it far too large. Is there a way to reduce the image/icon display size and evenly distribute the spaces between them?

    Hi, look at enfold jpg from IE8: http://www.eurokreator.eu/images/enfold-IE8-distorstions.jpg Thumbnails are distort, main post image as well (but in this case distortion is only vertical) pictures in small thums are downscaled and align top-left. Every new image which I prepared and insert look the same, so it’s not the bug of placeholder image settings. I read topic about gallery image distortion but here is something new. Regards.

    I upload 1 image to my page, and 14 other images get created.

    I’m a photographer and I do need only maybe 3 other thumbnails beside my full size image.

    How can I disable creation of all those additional thumbnails?

    I don’t need full width images, i run grid blog, and no portfolios…

    I found a few in functions.php, but there are others somewhere else..

    I tried disabling those thumbs with this in my child theme functions.php: but .. failed :)

    $avia_config = array(‘width’=>0, ‘height’=>0); // small preview pic for slideshow thumbs

    Please, let me know how i can disable creating those thumbails. I am using a child theme, so ideally, I’d like to disable them in my child theme functions.php, instead of deleting code from theme core files.

    How can I have a gallery with thumbnails and featured image 1500 x 430 px , as possible in the fullwidth easy slider ?

    In the gallery editor , I can select the option ” features 1500 x 430 ” but it looks like the option ” entry without sidebar 1030 x 360 ” .

    I don’t want that boxed look for the gallery.

    Can I change that ?

    You can add a margin to the top with:

    .avia_sortable_active .isotope .isotope-item {
    
margin-top: 10px;
    
}

    but it’s not easily possible to add it on the left/right side because this would break the grid layout.

    Firstly, congratulations on a really fantastic theme. I have a few questions that I would be grateful if you could answer them.

    1. I am using ‘justified image grid’ and ‘jQuery lightbox’ for my galleries.

    The problem is, when, I click on a thumbnail, 2 lightboxes pop up: the jQuery one and the default theme one.

    Is there a way I can disable the them default lightbox altogether.

    I have tried this solution: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/disable-lightbox-on-spefic-pages-so-other-light-box-can-work

    but it it changed nothing.

    Hi there,

    on your demo page (ive not installed it as im building from afresh) and I see you have several galleries on this page that are different to the default regarding the thumbnail borders

    Gallery

    the top gallery has no border at all but has a fine margin between each image. How do I replicate but also do it so that it doesnt wreck the other galleries on that same page if I create another (with borders this time). Just like this page.

    Also, how do you replicate the others with a different margin to the borders. Am I missing a setting somewhere in the builder or does it all have to be done in CSS. Either way, how do i create this page?

    Hi – the theme won’t let me set a feature image for either posts or pages. When I try, the media library appears empty (with one broken image thumbnail) even though there are images in it.

    If I select ‘upload files’ and drag/drop to upload, I get a red error message on the right “an error occurred in upload please try again later”. (If I then look in the media library via the main WP menu on the left, the image I tried to upload has in fact been uploaded successfully.)

    …but there appears no way I can set it as a feature image.

    OK, at least I understand your (Kriesi’s) way of thinking. I agree it does look nice, just a shame most galleries I ever create have more images than fit on a single screen! I suppose I could use the thumbnail with larger image layout but I prefer having decent sized thumbnails that don’t necessarily require the user to enlarge to get a feel for what they are looking at. Thanks for taking the time to explain though!

    Thanks Dude. Unfortunately, using px widths means I can only go to about 200px before it screws up when viewed on smartphones (goes of the side of the screen), which is a little too small (need about 400px for my ‘thumbnail’ images). I guess I’ll have to live with it unless there is something else I can do?

    On a similar subject, is there any chance the caption is going to be added back into the lightboxes in future updates? It’s a bit odd not to be able to caption a lightbox image.

    Sorry for the late reply – I missed this post. Open up wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/postslider.php and delete:

    Then replace:

    $output .= !empty($excerpt) ? "<div class='slide-entry-excerpt'>".$excerpt."</div>" : "";

    with

    It’s not possible to change the tooltip width based on the thumbnail width because the width is “hardcoded” with css. However you can change the current tooltip width to any other width – insert following code into the quick css field

    .avia-tooltip {
    
width: 180px;
    
}

    and adjust the width value.

    Afaik Kriesi added this gallery effect because it looks nice and if you’ve just some images in a gallery (and not a complete page of thumbnails) it makes sense. For now we won’t implement this code into the theme files because we like the fade in effect…

    Open up enfold/js/shortcode.js and search for following code around line 205:

    //trigger displaying of thumbnails

    gallery.on(‘avia_start_animation’, function()

    {

    images.each(function(i)

    {

    var image = $(this);

    setTimeout(function(){ image.addClass(‘avia_start_animation’) }, (i * 110));

    });

    });

    change it to:

    //trigger displaying of thumbnails

    gallery.on(‘avia_start_animation’, function()

    {

    images.each(function(i)

    {

    var image = $(this);

    setTimeout(function(){ image.addClass(‘avia_start_animation’) }, (i * 110));

    });

    }).trigger(‘avia_start_animation’);

    and the gallery thumbs should load immediately.

    I have implemented it and it seems to work, but my question is, why hasn’t this been written into the code for us? It doesn’t make any sense to have to scroll down a complete page of thumbnail images before you get to see them not greyed out! Now I may have to amend the code everytime I do a theme update, so is there a good reason this fix hasn’t been applied to the code for us?

    Hi guys,

    Been trying to find the CSS for the gallery thumbnail tooltip width (the tooltip that displays the image caption). Can’t find it using Firebug. What custom CSS do I need to add to have the tooltip be 100% width of the thumbnail image to which it relates?
