    In reply to: Images Compression

    Hi, thanks for your answer. Actually I’m compressing images before uploading on wordpress and i’ve activated gZip compression with my hosting service. Now, looking at the result of PageSpeed Insight it is still very bad, more or less the same as it was before. It tells me that images are not compressed (i didn’t understand if gZip compression should help…).

    One thing that makes me think is that some day ago i asked you to increase the size of the images of magazine element. And, after some changes i get bigger immages in that element. But i also needed to increase the thumbnail size to 1420×750, that is exactly the size of those images that google suggest to compress. In particular one of my images, which was more or less 100 kb, seems to be over 300 kb in the magazine element.

    I don’t know if i’ve been clear enough, so i also give a temporary access if you need to do something.

    Thanks again,

    Luca

    I’ve followed that post before with no change in quality of the image’s thumbnail. Frustrating that no one else has seemed to find a solution beside this one.

    Ciao!! Hope you are doing fine!

    1.
    Currently, hover on thumbnail shows the big image preview.
    I’d like to show the big image preview on click, not on hover.
    And to be taken to the lightbox only when clicking the big image preview.

    2.
    I’d like to have more clearance in top and bottom of the image in the lightbox,
    like a padding or margin so the image in the lightbox doesn`t get too close to the browser window.

    Thanks! :)

    Hi, I’m experiencing a weird problem where after uploading a photo in RGB (not sRGB 2.1 or CMYK) the thumbnails color space changes to gray. I’m assuming either WordPress or enfold is doing this to compress the image as much as possible – Is there a way to make this not happen?

    Here are two examples:
    The full size:

    The Thumbnail:

    I’m trying to get Street View working on a page. The only reference I’ve found is this post but that has not helped me.

    I’ve got a 700 px wide column to put the above URL into – how can I get this working?

    #808112

    That’s weird though – I’m doing what I’ve always done – 99% of the products are portrait books, and therefore are not square, and up until now they have been displaying in the product categories properly, lining up, as square thumbnails. Even the ones which you can see are not square products. It’s only just happening, and I haven’t done anything differently.

    Last time I regenerated the thumbnails it caused me no-end of trouble, and I’d love to find a way without doing that. ><#

    #808108

    Hey Abigail,

    For the thumbnails to be square, the original images also have to be square. You can adjust settings here and then you need to regenerate thumbnails.

    If you need further assistance please let us know.

    hello mike and thanks for the response.

    i ve contacted google just a while ago, so ill wait for their anwswer.

    but meanwhile: looking at that particular page* which im getting this warning at, if youll have a look at the screeshots, three things are
    needing some attention.

    1. the Caption text is too far to the left on the mobile
    2. the caption text of the first image stays in every image, its not changing
    3. the thumbnails are very very small. aint there a way to display them, only on mobile, a bit bigger, for example, below each other and not next to each other?

    Hi,
    after updating, WP, WooCommerce and Enfold, I am getting error messages on WooCommerce on the single product pages. On top of the image, there is the following message.

    Warning: Missing argument 3 for avia_woocommerce_gallery_thumbnail_description() in /home2/lepure/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold-child LE PURE/functions.php on line 11

    Warning: Missing argument 4 for avia_woocommerce_gallery_thumbnail_description() in /home2/lepure/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold-child LE PURE/functions.php on line 11

    Can you please help,

    Did you view it on a phone or computer? From my laptop the thumbnail images are very blurry and it’s very noticeable. Can anyone help me fix this?

    #807633

    Hi,

    Right now there are many modifications and plugins.
    not sure where and why that is happening, but what you changed before that happens, as I remember everything working fine?
    Have you tried Regenerate Thumbnails?

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    I would like first image in post to become featured image automatically. If that´s not possible it would be ok to add a featured image that automatically becomes top image of post. This was possible before used avia layoutbuilder in post.

    In private content theres a link to two post. One were I tried to just add image in post and see if featured/thumbnail automatic became that image and one were I added a featured image and no image in post. Neither work.

    So to sum up.
    I would like first postimage to be used a featured image automatic. I tried adding the suggested plugin, but that did not seem to work.

    Hi,
    Here the site : http://www.mauricelargeron.com made with thesis theme from diythemes Cny.
    I want to stay in the same navigation with top menu and right sidebar and footer , but want to refurbish the overall layout.

    Please, find my wishes/needs here below for website to display job of instructor (courses in classrooms not lms, so for just showing off programs) and blogger (300 posts since 2011) :)

    1/ All the pages ‘d be with a full-width header only (except welcome-home), not the main content i want to keep strict.

    2/ Be able to create a welcome_home page easily full width.

    3/ Masonry layouts with thumbnails images attached to the excerpts for both blog list of pages and categories list of articles with full pagination i mean from the first post to the lastest one.

    4/ Woo commerce ready to be able to display courses as products (my courses like a product in fact, so i ‘d use the product page from woocommerce)

    5/ Landing pages possibilities with form embedding possibilities (mailchimp).

    Have you got any approaching exemples form real websites ?

    In advance, thanks for your advices

    Hey S4racen,

    You need to set your sizes here and uncheck “Hard crop”, then regenerate thumbnails.

    If you need further assistance please let us know.

    I I have a question about my product page.

    Everything has been working fine, but recently, when I add my product images they are no longer displaying square (and therefore not lining up with everything else) but they slightly taller, which is throwing the grid off.

    How do I fix this?

    In reply to: image size status

    thanks Rikard,
    when i want to load a Image from the media-library into a element (slider, colum, cell …) after i had checked the pic in the thumbnails, i got a dialogue on the right hand, where i can chose a “display size”. If i want to refresh a pic on a client site i got no chance to find out which display size was chosen on the previous pic – i have to do a trial&error lesson … to get the right size on the site …
    i thought It was possible to display this size-entry on the cell-edit-dialogue beside the pic-preview… or where i can find these settings for each pic.

    OK?! do you understand now? No link can display the problem it is on the backend in enfolds site editing (over avia layout architect)

    thanks a lot!

    Hey guys,

    On the homepage and work page of my website, I want to make the page fullscreen,
    so that the thumbnails go edge to edge in the browser,

    http://www.ccyran.com/

    Can you provide css for this?

    I tried following this http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/hide-menu-itemselements-on-mobile/
    but it didn’t work. It hides the mobile masonry gallery on desktop, but still shows the desktop masonry gallery on mobile.

    Thanks!
    Chris

    Sorry problem solved!

    Just had to place the custom class inside the column element, not the masonry gallery element.

    Hi,
    First off, please forgive me if I am using the wrong terminology. Here’s my problem though: If you click on the title of any of the 28 illustration “thumbnails” on my sites home page, it opens up a portolio detail page for that specific image. On each side of the full page are arrows with small circular thumbnail images so you can advance, or reverse to the next or previous portfolio details page. The problem is that the detail pages appear in the order the portfolio items were uploaded, not in the order they appear on my homepage or the order I specified for each image. How can I fix that so the portfolio detail pages load in the same order as the portfolio items appear on my homepage (without sorting the homepage images by upload date)?
    Thanks,
    Trevor Johnston

    Hi,

    Can after changing the Mansory grid, run a plugin called ” Regenerate Thumbnails ” and let us know if that would work?
    Thank you

    Hi Lynn,

    The page where you like square images uses portfolio masonry with portfolio thumbnail size of 490×400.
    For the team page we ca reduce the caption padding to make the masonry elements appear almost square:

    .page.page-id-447 .grid-content {
        padding: 8px;
    }

    As for the image quality, seems like WordPress compressed them on upload. Here is an article about it:

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    The custom link option is not going to be applied when the AJAX Portfolio option is enabled. It’s possible but you have to modify the config-template-builder > avia-shortcodes > portfolio.php file. Look for this code around line 422:

    $custom_link = get_post_meta( $the_id ,'_portfolio_custom_link', true) != "" ? get_post_meta( $the_id ,'_portfolio_custom_link_url', true) : false;

    Below, add the following code.

    $custom_link_class = get_post_meta( $the_id ,'_portfolio_custom_link', true) != "" ? 'grid-custom-link' : '';

    Again, find this code around line 507:

    $output .= "<".$link_markup[0]." data-rel='grid-".avia_post_grid::$grid."' class='grid-image avia-hover-fx'>".$custom_overlay.get_the_post_thumbnail( $the_id, $image_size, $image_attrs )."</".$link_markup[1].">";

    And replace it with:

    $output .= "<".$link_markup[0]." data-rel='grid-".avia_post_grid::$grid."' class='".$custom_link_class." grid-image avia-hover-fx'>".$custom_overlay.get_the_post_thumbnail( $the_id, $image_size, $image_attrs )."</".$link_markup[1].">";

    After that, edit the js > shortcodes.js file, look for the “avia_portfolio_preview” function. Look for line 1538-1539:

    load_item: function(e)
    				{

    Below add this line of codes:

    					var target = $(e.currentTarget);
    					if(target.is('.grid-custom-link')) return;

    Remove browser cache or hard refresh after adding the modifications.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi there,

    I’ve set thumbnails for my categories and selected the Enfold option to show the thumbnail as a full width image with the description as a banner but i don’t want to show the thumbnail in the shop page as it’s not styled with a border or padding…

    What’s the quick css. that i need to apply to remove it as a thumbnail but keep it as the full width banner?

    Cheers

    Hey guys,

    On my website http://www.ccyran.com/, the thumbnails loading on the gallery appear to be broken. It doesn’t have a smooth fade in anymore, I’ve tried hard resets and viewing it on different peoples monitors, browsers (chrome / safari) but same issue though.

    When the thumbnails load, it looks like a twitch, rather than a smooth load. Can you look into this?

    **Update** Along with this, when I click on the categories above the thumbnails, it begins to fall apart after clicking on a couple categories.

    Thank you,
    Chris

    Hi Uroš!

    Please add following code to Quick CSS in Enfold theme options under General Styling tab

    .page-id-328 .thumbnail_container {

    }

    Hi Victoria,

    That is because the Western Paradise one I do want to open in ajax. Most I want to open in Ajax. Only 6 Need to open in a custom link new page and I have set it for those, but they still open in Ajax.
    Drew Duplex
    Columbia 4 Plex Kamloops
    Sunpeaks 4 Plex
    Abby Place
    Nicola 5-Plex Kamloops
    9th Avenue Triplex

    I do notice these 6 properties title is in black instead of purple like the rest which means there is no link but the thumbnail still opens the Ajax. Shouldn’t both the thumbnail and the title get the custom link I have set?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    #805258

    if you like to have both a counter number and than a featured image above the title same line
    big advantage – if there is no featured image – counter is still there – and only image is missing

    find:

    echo "<span class='search-result-counter {$counterclass}'>{$post_loop_count}</span>";

    replace with:

    $searchimage = get_the_post_thumbnail( $the_id, 'large' );
    echo "<span class='search-result-image'>{$searchimage}</span>";
    echo "<span class='search-result-counter {$counterclass}'>{$post_loop_count}</span>";

    you see the line stays in the code but two lines are added before

    then you only have to style the featured image size f.e.:

    .search-result-image img {
        width: 300px;
    }

    well look to find the loop-search.php in enfold/includes
    make a copy of it and upload an edited version to your child-theme subfolder includes. (commonly it is: enfold-child/includes )

    how to edit :
    look to line (version Enfold 4.0.7) : 31

    echo "<span class='search-result-counter {$counterclass}'>{$post_loop_count}</span>";

    and replace it with:

    $searchthumb = get_the_post_thumbnail( $the_id, 'large' );
    echo "<span class='search-result-counter {$counterclass}'>{$searchthumb}</span>";

    and add this to quick css:

    .search-result-counter {
        padding: 0;
    }

    .search-result-counter img {
    	width: 100%;
    	height: 100%;
    	border-radius: 100px;
    }
