On the right that is not the post thumb, that’s the author image and it goes to the author page as it is meant to be a multi-author blog and so you can easily go to the author page. You will need to modify the php files to have the different layout or link.

If you need other product layouts you might want to look for a plugin that can help you with that.

The code was not working because you have this code in your Quick css with !important that overrides all the other code added. Please remove it. And then you can use the code given above.
