Your website loads fine on my end and the page you’re referring to is a common WordPress functionality and admin pages and scripts are excluded from caching most of the time, so they can seem slow, but it does mot mean your user-facing pages are like that.

You should be running at least php5.6.3 for the code to work properly. Please consider upgrading your php version.

Well, if the container for the images is going to be less in height, the image will have to scale and it will not cover the whole container.
