The theme does not rule permalinks. It can be that your permalink plugin is causing this. Please test without it.

The files in that folder are generated dynamically, so even if you delete the folder once you press save on the theme options the folder and the files in it will be regenerated.

Well, you can build a page with no footer and header and just a slider and show it in the iframe loaded on the button click.

The thing is the sort works like this: it gets the number of posts that you set to display, the posts are from the categories you selected. If one category has more posts that are more recent, more of them are fetched from the db. So the posts are fetched and the sort options are rendered based on the categories that these posts have. When you press the “Load more” button next batch is fetched and there can be posts from another category also selected by you so the category appears in the sort options. So this is why you might think that the sorting is wrong but it is the way it’s built to work.

All the media files are served from the media library so plugins will affect them too. The demo images are not compressed for the clients to have the option to do it or not to do it. It’s a very individual decision.
