Hey ewingmh,

The image in the demo is 1800x1200px, I think yours should be as big as well, so that it does not get stretched and lose its quality.

These values are low and they might be preventing a successful theme upload.
Here are the values for refferrence
php_value post_max_size 512M
php_value upload_max_filesize 512M
php_value max_input_vars 5000
php_value max_execution_time 300
php_value max_input_time 300
php_value memory_limit 512M

Well, you need to check what code was added and add just the code to your shortcodes.js, not the whole file.
And yes, it has to be done in a child theme, otherwise, the code will be lost on update.
