  • Hi,

sorry for the late response. As asked by you I updated the WordPress Version to 5.1 and tried it myself to update the Theme. It worked absolutely fine.
I need to activate the personal token, but this should not be a problem …

So Problem solved. Thank you for your support on that topic!!!! No further help needed.

    best,
    Uwe

    Hi Rikard,

thank you for your support on that topic.
The PhP Version is 7.32. which is the latest one offered by the provider.
On the WP Version there is no reason to keep it on that level. I saw that as well, but was really scarred to update the WP Version due to my experience with the update on the Theme …
If the WP Version needs to be updated, fine with me

    Does this answer your questions?

    Best,
    Uwe

…. to log on to WordPress I had to delete all Enfold files via FTP.
Luckily I managed to get my backup installed to get the site up again.
    Enfold 4.2 version..

I´m MORE than happy with your theme, really top – but this update was really not as expected

Would you mind to help me get it done without having this heart stopping moments anymore.
Did it as described within your post ….

    Thank you for your help

in reply to: Layer Slider always on top #944761

    Hi Enfold Team,

just wanted to let you know that I solved the problem. As did not stop searching in the forum here and found a solution which worked out. So Problem is solved ;-)

for all who want to know how:
    As mentioned I had already a Z-Index for the pop-up of 999
I added on the layer slider under “appearance” the CSS
    z-index:1!important;

Therefor the Layer Slider has a lower Z-Index per definition and the pop-up a higher one. The Z-index on the layer slider was the important part which was missing.

So this threat can be closed.

To the Enfold Team: you do an excellent job and provide tons of solutions here in the forum which helps us the users to solve specific needs as mine!

in reply to: Layer Slider does not show picture with Internet Explorer #840329

    Hi Mike
jabadabadoo ;-))) it is working !!!!!

Only a short hint if someone else is going to use your solution: In the first try I missunderstood the provided solution and thought the width/hight has to be on auto/auto, but this is not working. (my mistake).
    Do the following:
Copy the CSS coding as usual
go into the layer slider and if there is ANY “auto” in the style just take the picture and move it a bit around to get the correct position. This will replace AUTO with a value (certainly you can type the value in manually as well). The import part was to have 2 values and no AUTO.

At least for my side this is working perfect as you can see http://www.uwehofstaetter.de

not sure why you “appoligize” for a late replay: 1 day reply time … THIS is perfect support in my eyes !!!!!!! (- I have to appologize as I missed somehow your reply and did not fix the issue with your provided solution)

a BIG BIG thank you to you Mike and the whole Kriesi Team!!!!!

    Hi Rikard,

thank you for your reply. As mentioned above I have not added to the site, as I´m sill trying to get it solved…. ;-)
I would like to have an advanced layer slider with some picture on it and by clicking on one specific picture a video (not background) should start playing.
I found youtube tutorials for having a text on the slider and if you click on this text the video will play, but I found no descpription of having a picture as a “starting button” ..

Therefor I need some generell advice to my question which will help me to start setting it up on my site

    best regards,
    Uwe

in reply to: How to overlap content area over the header area #657113

    Hi,
i have not done any changes on my existing web page. I thought of “first ask” it this is possible before I spend a lot of time into something which will not work.

Just imagine to have a single picture (2000 * 1000) within the header (600 high) and therefor the picture will overlay by 400 the main content area

in reply to: How to overlap content area over the header area #656921

    Hi Jordan,

thank you for your response. Would it be possible to do it the other way around:

Overlay a picture which I put into the header “into” the content area”. So the picture is part of the header but “moved” down

I think this is possible for a logo to overlay into the header (I remember that I have seen something like that within another blog), Similiar now with a picture from the header “moved down” to overlay the content area.

    regards
    Uwe

    Hallo Rikard,
    please see links below

    best regards and Grüsse
    Uwe

    1/4 and 2/5 Grid
I´m using 1/4 Grid on this page: http://www.uwehofstaetter.de/show/
(within the row of 4 pictures)
on the same page under “Business Magic” I have a 2/5 Grid for the picture

    1/2 Grid
    on this page http://www.uwehofstaetter.de/portrait/ I have a 1/2 Grid

1/5 Grid this is the one I was referring on to
the 1/5 grid can be found on this page: http://www.uwehofstaetter.de/10-gruende/

in reply to: Image – where used #653536

    Hi Rikard,

thank you for your reply. I do not use any plugin. Just using the media overview in list view and there is a colume “hochgeladen” / “verknüpft” (german) which might be something like “assigned” in EN.

thought this part (media overview) is not “standard” WP but part of ENFOLD – but now as you mention it I think might be wrong and if it is part of standard WP my question would certainly not being asked you guys from ENFOLD ;-))

So if it is part of standard WP, just let me know and I try to see if I can get a plugin

thank you again for your excellent support and product!

    best regards
    Uwe

in reply to: Which picture size did I use? #653534

    Hi Rikard,

thank you for your response. I did not use a textbox within the page. I used a 1/5 Grid and added a photo. While doing this I got asked which size I would like to have the photo. Unfortunately I do not remember which one I use from the given formats of the photo. Therefor I try to figure out – without try and error – to see which picture size did I choose to ensure I do the very same with other pictures in the same kind of grig.

    Best regards,
    Uwe

in reply to: Slider with parallax #557659

    Hi Elliott,

thank you for having a look into it. I set the customer pixel value on 650px as this is how I would like to have it, so I do not want to extend this value.

If I now put a picture in the background the picture is being cut on the top and bottom side due to the stretching and parallax capability – which is fine as well as it depends on the screen size of the site visitor.

The issue is that I would like to have the 650 px size of the color section + parallax but the picture should not be cut that much (at the moment you will see me holding an envelope with a number on it. Depending on your screen you might not see the number nor will you see what is going on underneath the envelop due to the cut.

So the question is: which size of the picture should be used for that setting. I have not figured out how the parallax will fit into the different screen sizes.

Certainly a picture needs to be “stretched” in some cases or better it looks like that the theme “zooms” in. I would like to understand the logic behind such as “first zoom in until the full width of the screen (e.g. 2560) is reached and as a consequence the hight of the picture need to be cut.
    Example:
    Color Section 650 px
    picture size 1920*1080
    – if Screen size of site visitor = 2560 wide
–> “theme will zoom in until 2560 px reached and therefor from the picture …???????
    – if Screen size of site visitor = 1366 wide
    –> “theme will …???????
So what is the logic/working of the parallax?
    Could I make a clearer? ;-))

    my other question above are:
    1. what did you use in the example given above? Color Section or Slider?
    2. is it possible to have text such as “Welcome to Enfold Restaurant” in the demo example with a parallax as well?

    Thank you for your support

in reply to: Slider with parallax #556759

    sure, see private content

on each single side I put a color section (full * 650 px) with a background picture, parallax activated.

The pictures are cut on both top and bottom and I can not find a good picture size to have a better result
