Rob, thanks for the info, im on 4.3.2 now. You are right, hosting IT guy said theme was looking for files that did not exist, but he was able to get it fixed and updated. Will try uploading 4.4 and fingers crossed!

Rob, why would we not be able to update from within the dashboard? The past couple updates I have done were through the dashboard and it did crash the site each time (PHP 7.0). Not touching 4.4 until they get this figured out, costs me $150 each time I have to call the hosting company IT guy to get it fixed.

Thank you. Open html tags was my first thought as well and so that was thoroughly inspected and tested before writing to you. A few things make me think it is something deeper than my html markups.

    1. The area that seems to be the problem area (since it is the last area that edits cause content below it to disappear, and is also the last area that the “save” button even works), is the text box beginning with “As the name suggests…” . This ENTIRE text box section can be completely DELETED and even the act of deleting it STILL causes all other webpage content below it to go missing as well. So if it was HTML language in the text box, deleting it should solve the problem, but it does not.

    2. I can copy and past the code from that area using the “browse previous versions” function from a time when edits could be made and the error still occurs. Version August 29, at 11.25 am is when you will see the bottom half of the website first disappeared after making a simple edit.

    3. The website currently runs perfect live with its current markups. It is only when I try to edit anything that the issues arise. If there was a problem with the current HTML tags wouldn’t the live site be broken?

Any other ideas? If you do test anything, again I would ask that you only “preview changes” instead of “update” as to not break the live version of the site until we know for sure the cause of the problem. I am sure the problem will turn out to be something basic, but I am completely out of ideas. This has been the best theme I have ever used and have not had any issues until now.

    Thank you for your help.

Just an update to yesterdays issue. Tried it again today, as sometimes time is the best medicine, but the same issue persists. The website, page, and the log-in credentials are in the private section below. The problem only occurs on the one page using the Advanced Layout Editor. I can edit pages using the default editor without issues. This problem began saturday afternoon. I made edits in the morning without a problem. No new plugins were added. I have insured all of my tags were closed. Memory is not an issue.

To recreate issue #1, edit some of the text in the text box that begins with “As the name indicates……” and save the changes. Then “preview changes” (I ask please do not “update” because then the broken version will be live and I will have to go back and try to find the proper previous revision). You will notice that the changes were made but there is NO website content beneath that section you just edited except the footer. If you scroll through my previous 18 “updated” revisions, you will see when the problem occurred the entire code for the bottom half of the website was wiped clean away. So the missing website content below the text is not just being hidden, it is being actually DELETED if an update is made after editing a text box.

To recreate related issue #2, try editing a text box lower on the page and click “save”. You will notice it does not automatically close the window as with higher up text boxes, you will have the click the X in the top right corner. Then “preview changes” (again, please do not “update”), you will notice that the changes were NOT installed nor was website content below the text deleted as in issue #1. It is as if the “save” button on these text boxes lower on the website are not doing anything at all.

    Thank you for your help.

The problem has been solved. Deep within Wishist Member settings is a “Protect all content after the “more” tags:”. This setting had been set to yes. So although the posts were not “protected” content, anything after the “read more” tag was being considered by wishlist member to be protected and therefore sent visitors to the “order now” page.

Thank you so much for your help in directing me the checking the plug-ins.

    Have a great day,
    David

Thank you so much! I discovered the main problem but it created a new question. Wishlist member was the guilty plug-in. When it was deactivated the blog posts no longer redirected to the order now page. In my wishlist member plug-in dashboard, under “settings”, I found it is set to send non members who attempt to access “PROTECTED CONTENT” to the Order-Now page. So obviously wishlist member must think my blog posts are “protected content”. Upon seeing this, I assumed I must have accidentally set all of my blog posts to be “protected”, however, this is not the case. For each of my blog posts, the “No, do not protect this content (non-members can access it)” option is selected within the Wishlist Member box at the bottom of the “edit post” page.

So, if my blog posts are NOT set as protected, and Wishlist Member only sends visitors to the order now page for PROTECTED content, why would visitors be directed to the Order Now page when trying to read a NON PROTECTED blog post? I completely understand if this is a Wishlist Member issue to deal with, however these exact same settings worked fine for the blog on my previous theme making me think it may be something about the way Enfold and Wishlist Member communicate on this particular issue. Enfold overall is light years ahead of my previous theme, this is the only issue I have encountered.

    Thank you

    Rikard,

The issue occurs when you actually try to read one of the blog posts. Click on ANY of the blog posts on the blog page and it will take you to the order now page. It changes the link from the blog post permalink to what you see in the private section below, you will see it adds /order-now/ to the url. That /order-now/ part is not in the blog post permalink..

I currently have the blog posts set up as a menu page using your blog posts content element. But the same thing happens when I have the blog set up as a menu “category” and use the <!–more–> shortcode within the post. Clicking on the “read more” created by that shortcode in such a case also redirects to the /order-now/ url. This unwanted redirect to the order now page only happens for a logged-out user. When viewing the website from within wordpress, the blog works properly.

    Thank you for your help,
    David
