Update: No wild cards required. Thank you for your help, Mike. Issue is resolved.

Do you anticipate I will need to create a new API for theme or WP update?

What do you think caused the trouble?

    Thanks again!

Very good. I made the changes you suggested. I added the URL without wildcards to the accepted requests, exactly as shown below. Refreshing the contact page shows error for map. I will wait 5 minutes and try adding URL with wildcards to the list. Thank you.

Dear Mike. Thank you for the suggestion. That seems to work. How risky is it to leave this key unrestricted? Thank you.

Hi Victoria. That is exactly how I configured the HTTP referrers accepted request. See link below. What do you suggest next?

Hi Victoria. API key generated, domain authorized (HTTP referrers) and pasted into Google Services in Enfold. Please verify with credentials below. Thank you.

Hi Victoria. Thank you for your help. I am very sorry if you have not read the previous ticket (#815094). There it is documented in detail how I attempt to create my own API key for google maps. No matter what trouble shooting is suggested, I was not able to activate any API key that I generated. Hence Kriesi support had to provide me with a functional key.

Could you please help me how to use an API key that I generate?

    Thank you,

    Hi Rikard,
Updating enfold and clearing cache- no change.

Please keep in mind I am using the enfold support provided API key.

“Could not connect to Mailchimp with this API Key. Please try again with a different key
You might also want to check your internet connection and make sure that mailchimp.com is available”

    What do you suggest next?

    Thank you Yigit.

As you can see in the tutorial, it is recommended to generate my own key, I followed the tutorial exactly, with no success. However, you are saying is that we should use this single key for all sites, not to generate own own key. Is that correct?

Thank you, Vinay, for your help.

    Dear Yigit,

Thank you for correcting. Could you please explain in more detail what the solution was?

Who is Vinay and how did he generate a key? Should I use this key for other websites in the future?

    Hi Rikard,
It looks activated to me. Please see below.

    Hi Rikard,
Yes, please see below. What do you think?

in reply to: Google Maps #815095

@John. Yes, I have created a new post. Please review #815094 and advise.

in reply to: Google Maps #814671

    Hi Victoria,

As you can see, this is a photo of a map. It is not in fact a live Google map. This is a very crude workaround, I was not sure if Support would respond before launch.

I’ve added the google map media element back to the staging site, see link below.

Please advise how to correct API issue.

    Thank you,

    @michael_world2cycle: Agreed.

Kriesi Support, do you have any suggestions for us?

in reply to: Google Maps #813639

Greetings Support. Similar issue. Resulting error when trying to add address:

    An error occurred
It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly
The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong.
Please check your API key here
The domain that should be allowed is:
    http://mydomain.com/*

My key is pasted into the google services section of Enfold Theme Options.

I have reconfigured my API key and referrers multiple times with many possible variations as mentioned in step 4 of your google maps tutorial: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/

I have also disabled all plugins.

I have also cleared cash/ logged out/ in multiple times.

Please send further tips on how to correct.

    Thank you very much.
