June 14, 2018 at 11:01 am in reply to: Using portfolio grid and Google map inside ajax preview #972769Hi Victoria
I have attached an image of what I wanted to do – load one portfolio grid into another then open the 2nd level items in ajax but apparently it is not possible….?
http://wpg.com.gridhosted.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/portfolio-grids.pngso I can still include related projects opening in a new window but as you can see the images for the related projects are not showing – how to fix that?
……………………………
and (I asked before but no response) why is the google map not showing in the preview window?[av_google_map height='400px' zoom='16' saturation='' hue='' zoom_control='aviaTBzoom_control' maptype_control='' maptype_id='' av_uid='' custom_class='']
[av_gmap_location address='59 guywood lane' city='' country='' long='-2.089107399999989' lat='53.4158475' marker='' imagesize='40']
Stuff
[/av_gmap_location]
[/av_google_map]
……………………………
thanks
IanJune 13, 2018 at 11:31 am in reply to: Using portfolio grid and Google map inside ajax preview #972232Hi
thanks for your reply.
the problem is that I am using portfolio items to show a company profile – but within that I want to show related projects specific to that company
I have created the projects as portfolio items but the only way I can display these items is using the portfolio grid – you suggest using magazine or blog posts but these do not support portfolio items so I would have to have 2 versions of each portfolio
suggestions please…also why does the google map not work in the preview?
thanks
Hi
yes, the same thing happens
Hi
any reply on this please?
thanks
HI
thanks for fixing the language bar issue.
onto the favicons. I uploaded both 8bit and 24 bit pngs at 32x32px. neither of them worked. this is getting stupid :)
I would be helpful perhaps if you could demonstrate an image that actually does work across all the pages and all the languages, because I cannot seem to do it and I am just going in circles!
I also tried adding it in Appearance/Customize –
Site Icon
The Site Icon is used as a browser and app icon for your site. Icons must be square, and at least 512 pixels wide and tall.that did not work either! I have now spent about 5 hours trying to get a favicon appear on my site…
thanks

Hi
OK, I updated the theme.
I now have 2 problems :)
1. The favicons issue is NOT fixed. if you look at different pages and different languages you will see what some have it and some do not. Same as before.
2. Now I have an issue with WPML. The flags are all appearing next to the dropdown. This is despite me having the following code in the Child theme functions.php and I do not want to add it to the parent theme.
hope you can suggest solutions, thanks!
Ian
Hi
I am going to update the theme again.
what happened last time I did it though was the WPML flags all showed in the top menu bar as well as the dropdown language selector…
this should not have happened as I have the following in the Child functions theme
add_action(‘after_setup_theme’,’avia_remove_main_menu_flags’);
function avia_remove_main_menu_flags(){
remove_filter( ‘wp_nav_menu_items’, ‘avia_append_lang_flags’, 20, 2 );
remove_filter( ‘avf_fallback_menu_items’, ‘avia_append_lang_flags’, 20, 2 );
remove_action( ‘avia_meta_header’, ‘avia_wpml_language_switch’, 10);
}can you tell me how I can update it without this extra problem occuring?
thanks
Ian
great thanks!
Hi
all fixed thanks, except the checkboxes – better on one line so less wide…
. input_checkbox_label {width: 90px !important} (rather than using custom class on the whole form or should I?)
thanks
I had a problem and had to roll it back…but yes, updating did not fix the favicons
add_action(‘after_setup_theme’,’avia_remove_main_menu_flags’);
function avia_remove_main_menu_flags(){
remove_filter( ‘wp_nav_menu_items’, ‘avia_append_lang_flags’, 20, 2 );
remove_filter( ‘avf_fallback_menu_items’, ‘avia_append_lang_flags’, 20, 2 );
remove_action( ‘avia_meta_header’, ‘avia_wpml_language_switch’, 10);
}
and also it made all the flags appear in the top bar DESPITE me adding this to the functions fileany ideas, seems I can’t update at the moment…
Hi
I updated the site to 3.8
this not only did not fix the problem, it also broke WPML on the language switcher which I am also experiencing problems with on ANOTHER support ticket.
how can I fix this please?
Hi
I looked again and they are still not working. It works on a few pages but look at the other languages and No.
I cleared the image cache and still nothing
thanks
Hi
it is already updated, favicons not working
thanks
Hi
that does not work. I tried a few variations eg…
.menu-item-language a {
height: 38px !important;
top: 0px !important;
position: relative;
border: 1px solid;
}I tried other margin setting etc and the border just does not sit around the text link IN THE RIGHT PLACE. If the default WPML is as per my original screenshot why is not possible to just get round whatever Enfold is doing to make it not look right?
thanks

it works in the backed, but not in the frontend properly and not in other langauges. I uploaded an .ico file to see if that worked instead but it did not
thanks
Hi
I managed to do that as well, but as you can see it is the full height of the nav panel not the correct height for the button
cheers
Hi
that’s great thanks but what about the button border not showing?
cheers
Hi
thanks for that, I will pass on the info to the client as I have nothing to do with their hosting
cheers
Ian
Hi Vinay
perfecto, works fine now..
thanks for your help
Ian
Hey Rikard
thanks, login details attached
Ian
In the end I had to press the WPML Duplicate media button…again…
my website is now completely crapped up with duplicate media that I can never remove because it will screw something up somewhere
this was my first and last project with WPML. it is a mess.
fortunately this whole thing coincides with my decision after 20 years or so to stop building crappy websites for boring people and go do something more interesting with my life :)
I worked it out. I entered the google key in enfold..
the map appears for 1 second then disappears
:(

No, I do not understand…I go to Google API and there is no credentials option..
Step 4
Now you need to enter a name for your API key. This name can be anything and is totally arbitrary. If you want you can also enter your domain name so only requests from your domain with that key will be accepted.It does not let me do this…I do not understand it. and It does not work :)
Hi
updating everything fixed the problem of the missing gallery items thanks
however 2 things…
if I add an image to the UK gallery it stil does not automatically update the other languages – should it? is it possible?
and also, I have now created the German gallery page 3 times and it REFUSES to show an more than 3 images – even though when you edit the page it shows all of the images in the Gallery..it is very frustrating
thanks
fyi – I sent this to WPML, cheers
Hi
I have problems recreating galleries where it says the content is there in the other language but as soon as you try and edit the gallery in a new language it loses all the information and I have to add all the items again. For the occasional bits of pieces this is fine but across 5 languages this is not going to work.
I try duplicating everything but this does not solve the problem and now my site is now junked up with unnecessary duplicates.
gracias!

Hi Josue
thanks for getting back to me. To be honest WPML is a bit of a mess…nothing works properly…
is this issue something I should take up with them, it’s not really Enfold that is causing the issues here is it?
cheers
