Case closed. Found the problem within the plugin WP-Typography. After turning off the module everything works fine.

Awesome, thanks a lot for your help.

I found the plugin which was causing the problem: wp-Typography

After deactivating the plugin everything worked immediately.

I did the update now on version 3.8.3 and the problem still persists. :-(

The point is, when you click on a single post the sidebar is in the correct place. Just on the main blog page it is wrong!

Same problem here. You cannot change the template. “An Error occurred: Error fetching content – please reload the page and try again”!

Actually it is the version 3.8.2. and not 4.8.2. But besides, I get the same error. :-(
