Ok, great. thank you. Hopefully he can figure something out. If I somehow come up with a fix I will let you know.
Hi Victoria, that fix didn’t work it caused the layer slider to disappear from the menu in dashboard and images not to appear. It did get rid of the error messages. Nikko, said it’s causing another issue but I don’t think he was able to figure it out. Maybe you can take a look? His answer is on the bottom of the page.
Because the issue we noticed is in config.php in layer slider folder. But when you fix it to pull in the “uri()” everything dis appears
$layerslider = get_template_directory() . ‘/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php’;
and replaced it with:
$layerslider = get_template_directory_uri() . ‘/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php’;THP which file are you talking about? looks like those are the same type of error messages I am getting and we have been trying to figure it out here.
It’s strange. What is the next step then? I see a lot of people having this issue since the updates.
It’s weird, you can check it out I still have the access for you up. When I change the line back to what you had, you will see the layer slider menu option on the sidebar disappears along with the error messages on the update page at the bottom and the images don’t show in the slider when looking at homepage. When I change it back to original, then menu shows back up and images appear again on homepage but so do the messages on update page.
Nikko, I switched it back and the images come back up and the layer slider menu reappears. It was still working when I went to the site at first until you clear the cache in wprocket.
And the layer slider menu is missing on the side of the dashboard.
Nikko, It took the errors away but then when I clear the cache the images actually disappear in the slider.
Thank you, that looks like it did the trick. That has been driving me crazy for a while now. When I go to the update page, those warnings, aren’t there anymore. They must have changed something because it only started happening I believe when I updated to 4.04 or 4.05.
Thank you Nikko. One other thing I noticed is that the theme settings also always say I need to save them. Not sure if that’s related. So when you click theme options it always looks like they need to be saved and on other sites it’s greyed out until you change something.
I can see the issue. Warning: fopen(/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/plugins/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/eccosense/www/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4784
It’s calling “/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/plugins/…” instead of just calling “/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php”
Hi Victoria, sorry for the late response was waiting for the new update to see if it would fix the issue but it hasn’t come out yet. I have re uploaded new wordpress files through ftp. I have re uploaded new enfold files through ftp. I am running php 7.1.1 and have tried deactivating and reactivating plugins. I have also checked config file and debug is not on. Like I said before, it is weird because I am getting these warning messages on this site and a few others but not some other sites, which are all on the same hosting company. Using the same plugins for the most part. Wordfence, WPRocket, Yoast SEO Premium and so forth. I have attached screen shots of what is going on so maybe you can get a better idea.
Hi Andy, I have done that already, and it still seems to be an issue. Do you think it has to do with wprocket caching something?
Hi, I added this to .htaccess file:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php7 .php
still have the error messages
Hi, I am using PHP 5.6 I am running enfold on another site, and I don’t get the error messages.
It is only affecting some of my web sites. It’s on the update page.
Is there any fix to this issue? I have deleted and uploaded the new files. Still have the error coming up on updates page and everytime I update a plugin.
Hi Victoria, I receive the following.
Warning: fopen(/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/plugins/home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4783

Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/stephenheck/www/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4789
I have the same issue when updating plugins and theme. I am running php 5.6.3
ok, thank you.
March 7, 2017 at 12:04 am in reply to: Layerslider: Slides problems after theme update to 4.0.2 #756661Ok, try this. I created a new slider and made sure the size was set to what I wanted. ex. 1110 by 341 and saved it. I then clicked the checkbox for new slider and old slider. then in bulk actions I hit merge to new slider. I then went and changed the name to what I wanted and also deleted the empty first slide. Then put that in the page. It should work. Then you could go and just merge all the old sliders with the new one that was created.
March 6, 2017 at 11:27 pm in reply to: Layerslider: Slides problems after theme update to 4.0.2 #756638If you create a new slide then it works fine. Not sure why the old ones don’t format properly. looking for a fix.
March 6, 2017 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Layerslider: Slides problems after theme update to 4.0.2 #756580I have the same issue.
Hi Ismael, yes, I had just deleted the access since I had not heard back from anyone after I created it 3 days ago. I can create it again. As for the sliders it just depends. Here is one that is doing it now.
and these were all woking yesterday when I checked
I Just turned off Use slider markup caching in advanced and saved and now they seem to be working. Not sure if it’s because it reserved the sliders because if you go into the slider that isn’t working and hit save it works again. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

Hi Basilis, we aren’t. I just updated the theme to the latest also. I honestly don’t know why it keeps trying to switch on some of them.
Also, when you go back to the slider that isn’t working and click save it then shows the images.
Here you go Rikard. I tried switching the settings to not Use relative URLs. That didn’t work. It only happens once in a while and varies the slider.
Was there a fix for this? I have the exact same problem.
