I had to change the design to get around this issue. As other posts have suggested, there appears to be an issue with the Sceen Options. I really think there is a bug with this feature.
Fixed the login issue. Please try again. Thank you!
August 12, 2017 at 10:42 pm in reply to: GWT problems indexing Enfold (soft 404) with search activated (?s=) #838062@fromcouch – I would not tell other people to stop when you haven’t provided a truly tested solution yourself. As you say “I’m not tested yet” and you also say “But this maybe works”. This doesn’t exactly scream confidence.
I looked at the other post, but it’s not related to my issue. Please test the issue I’ve brought to your attention, using all the information I’ve provided.
After almost 72 hours, I’m not too excited about the responses I’ve received.
Thanks.
If you look at the page backend, you’ll see I created a Grid Row for desktop views and a Color Section for mobile views. So, if you look at the Grid Row for “Proven Safe and Humane”, I’ve set Hide on medium sized screens (between 768px and…), under Screen Options.
At 768px, “Proven Safe and Humane” should be stacked on top of the image.
Thanks. I went with the new options to hide/show on mobile, within Enfold.
This worked itself out, thanks.
Absolutely offload those PDFs to your Google Drive and look at this plugin to link to them. Since PDFs are hard (if not impossible to SEO), having them offloaded from your site is the way to go.
I understand. Here is some homework for you. Other than the below, just make sure you’re not uploading images that are huge in dimension and/or filesize.

Autoptimize Plugin: (Install w/ defaults and then tweak if needed
Caching (Web Host): Talk to them about enabling/configuring
Caching (Plugin): After talking to your web host, install what they recommend or if they don’t recommend anything, use WP Super Cache w/ the default settings and then tweak if needed)
Image Compression (Plugin): Uninstall any other image optimization plugins, install this one and then BULK COMPRESS all of your images that you’ve uploaded.
Disable Unneeded Functionality: Install this plugin and use it to turn OFF everything you don’t need. NOTE: If you have WooCommerce, be very careful what you turn OFF.
Caching (CDN): Talk to your web host about how they integrate/if they integrate with CDNs. Specifically, talk to them about signing up for the FREE tier or Cloudflare.Hello. I can assure you that it’s not an Enfold issue. If you look at this performance test, you’ll see that you have a bunch of configurations to do, outside of the theme.
Here are just a few action Items:
-
Caching (Plugin, Hosting and CDN)
Minification w/ Autoptimize
Image Optimization (Dimensions prior to upload)
Image Optimization (Image Compression upon upload w/ via a plugin)If you want to hire a professional to assist, feel free to click on my profile avatar (accurIT Presence) and reach out to me. Otherwise, I’ll try to help you as much as I can on here.
Understood. However, when there is a problem, the easiest potential fix is to compare what’s broke to what’s not broken. ; )
So, on all my sites, even prior to 4.1.1, this issue has not been there and the only difference I can think of is I’m running PHP 7.0 across all of them.
Are you able to upgrade? If so, I highly recommend that you do that in general. If you do flip the switch, make sure you check all functionality afterwards and not just the Enfold submenus.
Also, if you haven’t already done so, make sure to do the plugin dance (activate/deactivate) to see if that isolates the issue.
Did you clear your caches (browser, plugin, and CDN)? Also, out of curiosity, what version of PHP are you running?
Are you saying you’re working with 4.1.2 OR it’s working with 4.1.2?
Wild. Without digging into your site, the only other thing I can think of is there is a plugin at fault. Have you done the plugin dance (activating/deactivating) until you find the potential culprit?
Under Enfold > Main Menu > Mobile Menu, maybe you have it set to default, which is to display sub menu items on HOVER.
Hello. Not an admin, so I can’t see your URL, but have you tried updating to 4.1.1?
Nobody has requested to be hired/paid or has “hit you up”. I’m out. Learn to be a little more gracious.
Next Steps: Remove any other image optimization plugins you have installed. Install the one I linked to and then compress ALL your images with it. Again, feel free to reach out to me directly, as this is not an Enfold issue.
The images you will want to fix, but that’s not the bulk of your issue. Regardless, you don’t want to be using WP Smushit, UNLESS it is the premium version that does lossy compression. The FREE version only gets you so far. I recommend you look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-image-compression. Once you install it, you can bulk compress ALL your current images, using lossy compression.
WP-Optimize is great. You want to continue using it, but it won’t help you much with what you’re currently working on.
What you really want to start with though, is installing Autoptimize and start with the default settings. After that, you should see a big change in the “Fully Loaded Time”, which is what you really want to look at with GTMetrix. Let’s see how you are doing after and then we can further tweak.
We can most likely get your site to be at an “A”, across the board. It’s just a matter of how you want (are willing) to get there.
Feel free to reach out to me directly, if you want. I do WordPress optimization for a living and Enfold is my go-to theme.
Thanks,
RyanThank you. Feel free to close.
Thanks Mike. I still don’t understand why, without the CSS, it’s not displaying like the other slides. This slide (Slide 6) is actually supposed to be the first one people see. I just put it at the end to hide it for now.
I can’t be showing those Black borders.
Appreciate the help. Good to close.
Hello. I’m good to go with inserting “text tooltips”, but I’m looking to add hyperlinks, as part of the tool-tips. Please see attached image.
Looking at the image, the Terms of Service would be a hyperlink. I realize the image shows the entry in the Button row and that’s not necessarily where the the hyperlink needs to appear.
Thanks,
RyanAnd finally, if there was also a way to add a tooltip to an entire pricing row field, rather than the text.
Also, if we could add hyperlinks to the tooltips, that would be amazing! Possible?
Disregard. Doesn’t appear to be an Enfold issue.
