  • Good morning Ismael,
thank you for your info and for your solutions. Unfortunately the photographer likes the parallax effect. So, we’ll aks him if we should skip this on mobile or maybe do something else.
Anyway, many thanks for your support …

Oh, wow, gentlemen. I am truly impressed and very sorry that I obviously was unclear in my description. I am happy with a fixed image in the background (appears magically when you choose boxed layout [»eingerahmtes Layout«]. And yes I am going to slap my head now).

I also tried the »scrolling solution with 2 images and CSS« (although the background isn’t very large in our example), but it didn’t work for me. But I am very happy with the fixed background solution. I am VERY sorry, if you had a lot of work generating the CSS codes.
Anyway, many many thanks for your time and high quality answers.

    Vielen, vielen Dank nochmal.

    Hi Mike,
thank you for your effort. Sorry for the late answer, your reply got lost in my spam-folder …

    Thank you for your answer.
Yes, we are using a child theme and had now moved the header.php to the child theme. But unfortunately nothing happens …

Hi Jordan, please leave it open (for some days) as the customer didn’t react to the changes until now (due to bank holidays here). I will come back if everything is fine.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your help, Ismael.

For some reasons the code above did something wrong to load the side properly. But thanks to your link, I got another snippet, which I adapted now to our purposes:

    Thanks,
    Renko

I will now remove the code from the website again, as it is disturbing für users as it is now. I really, really would like to have a solution to this problem.

    Kind regards,
    Renko

    Hello Victoria,

I am really sorry, but the client now wants to have something slightly different:

Every image should open in the lightbox as big as possible. So if the image is portrait the image should have maximum height (of course with no squeezing). If the image is landscape it should have maximum length (again no squeezing). And if the browser window is scaled there should be no squeezing or distortion.

Do you know what I mean? Is anything like that possible?

Sorry, if I have to be a pain again.

    Kind regards,
    Renko

    Wow, that’s amazing, Victoria.

I tried some different images with the new code and it works perfectly.

Thank you for your helpful and patient assistance once again.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Victoria,

oh sorry. Well, that is hard to say, as there are plenty of images/portfolios on that site. (Around 1000 as the photographer says).
For example at the portfolio in the private content. The first image in the »color«-section is clearly squeezed.

Does it mean we have to gather all portfolio/images where we spot the squeezing?
Sorry if I misunderstand it again …

    Kind regards,
    Rainer

    Hi Victoria,
it is the very same website. We filled in the code at Enfold Child: »General Styling« at the »Quick CSS« field down below…

Or do I understand something wrong?

    Kind regards,
    Renko

    Hello Victoria,

ah, thank you for that info. This code comes from this topic:

Does that mean, we can have either that or the other? Or is it possible to add some code to fix the squeezing of the images?

    Kind regards,

Wow, Victoria, that worked like a charm.

Thank you for your wonderful assistance.

    Hi Victoria,

I disactivated the plugin »WP Fastest Cache«. Anything else I can do? Do you want me to install you as a admin member of the site?

    Kind regards,
    Renko

in reply to: Masonry Gallery: Different preview sizes in lightbox? #976138

    Hello Victoria,
the problem is, they don’t have the same size in the lightbox. Attached are two screenshots.

The first image in Gallery 1 row 1 is smaller than the third image in row 1, Gallery 1, for example. They have the same size at the media (w x l, dpi), but they do appear at a different size in the lightbox. And the photographer wants them to appear the same size (as big as possible).

    Small preview

    Big preview

    Kind regards,
    Renko

in reply to: Masonry Gallery: Different preview sizes in lightbox? #975890

Thank you for the feedback. But the images in the first gallery are all the same (2600×1733 px, landscape, 72dpi).

in reply to: Masonry Gallery: Different preview sizes in lightbox? #975732

Additional information I got from the photographer just now: He is using the plugin WP/LR Sync to upload the images from Lightroom to WordPress. Don’t know if that causes the problem …

    Hello Yigit,

thank you very much for your fast and correct solutions. Works like a charm now. Great!

Last question (which I have forgotten before): Can I get rid of the category (»Allgemein«) at the top of the blog posts at the starting page (down below), too? With some magical code or else? ;-) (I had had disactivated them at the options page, too. But they still keep displaying …)

in reply to: Read more button on elegant blog layout #738318

Hi there, I think I have the same problem. The »Read more« button is cut at the bottom at our starting page (at the bottom).

    See the screenshot here: Screenshot.

Furthermore I wanted to show no comment count and date at the posts, but they still appear. So I unchecked the »Blog Post Comment Count« and »Blog Post Date« at the Enfold Options. But they still appear at the blog posts.

How can I get rid of these 2 problems? Thank you very much for your help.

I have Enfold 3.8 installed (using a child theme). The blog layout is elegant + grid.

PS: If you’d like I can give you an admin account at our page.

in reply to: Events in Enfold Church theme disappeared #599523

Hello there, after some further research at wordpress forums we read that the error is caused by the new version of the »Event« plugin (this update also came out yesterday, as it seems). We now installed an older version of the »Event« plugin and now our page is working again.

We now have to be careful to not update the event plugin (until a working version comes out)

    Thanks for listening. :)

Great, thanks for the additional info.

    Wonderful support you are providing.

    Hey Yigit,

thanks for the info and the link.

Do you know how WPML handles the problem, when the different languages have different structures of the site? For example »Product 1« have to be displayed only on the english and german site but not on the spanish and french site. What I mean, is there an option not to display some menu points on different language sites or are all menu points there but some have no content?

Thanks again for your great support.

    Rainer
