I did, front end, and it looks okay. What does define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false); do, and why is it necessary? Will I need to add this to all of my Enfold sites giving me issues? And why suddenly do I need this in the config?
You bet.
For some reason the site added an http:// in front of the ftp for the server. Don’t use the http:// part.

I’m not a moderator, but can tell you that your attempts for help need to be preceded by some rational information. It’s very clear that no one can help you if 1) you give no information – detailed information – about what you did prior, during, and after to get the above errors; 2) posting generic help messages every 20 minutes with no information or detail; 3) letting them know what version of WordPress, Enfold are, is everything up to date, have you gone through the initial steps to troubleshoot like turning off all plugins, using a different theme, etc.
You can also search through the forums for similar issues.
It appears to me that your plugin Coming Soon has tripped an issue. Turn it off and see if you have the same problem. Clear your cache. Do some work. Do your homework. Come here prepared.
There is currently a conflict with Yoast and Enfold. We’re all experiencing issues.
Jordan, I can raise the flag over at Yoast, but I guarantee they’ll say it’s not their problem because it’s a theme related issue. It works just fine with a different theme, so…it’s an issue within Enfold. I can tell you that it began somewhere near the last WordPress upgrade. I can’t remember when Yoast last updated, and I had trouble on a site that had yet not updated to the latest Enfold.
Likely it’s something that updated with WordPress and is now a conflict with Yoast and Enfold. It needs to be investigated. Yoast isn’t something I want to live without, and I don’t want to change themes. For now, I am turning off Yoast to edit pages, updating, and then turning Yoast back on when I exit.
Yes. And on another site (jbcwatertreatment.com), the layout builder loads, but the text editor isn’t working unless I turn off Yoast.
The Silvey Angus site has only required plugins. Woo, WordFence, Yoast, etc, and the JBC site has the exact same plugins, plus a few more. The plugins on the Silvey site are all required, must-haves.

Correct. I just replaced Yoast with a fresh copy and it’s still not loading if it is activated. I’m not sure why. I have the same setup (theme and yoast) on multiple sites without issue.
Yoast. It’s choking on Yoast SEO.
Mine too.
I have Clef enabled, but have turned off the disabled password requirement for you.
There’s a bug or something in the text boxes. Is it showing up on the front end? Is there bold in your text? Do you have the word CD anywhere? These are just some of things I’ve come across while troubleshooting my own issues. For me it was just some bolded text. Another guy couldn’t start his paragraph off with the word CD.
If you have revisions on, go back to a revision without the text box. And try inserting it in one sentence at a time to discover exactly what is causing your issue.
I recreated my page twice. Both times the layout builder wouldn’t display the boxes to edit. Both pages had the bold that was causing the problem.
I think there is a bug in the text boxes. Try adding your content a little at a time. And see where it hiccups. On my own problem, it is when I add ‘strong’ or bold to an item. But not all items. Another guy could type the letters CD and it would happen. Try to figure out exactly what in the text is the problem. I added a sentence at a time until I realized it was the bold in one of my sentences.
If you have revisions, you can go back to a revision before you added the text. And start there.
There were strong tags in the first paragraph, starting with Units 76, 79 and 80. It failed to load until I removed them. The text box is buggy. Another user here could not type the letters (all caps) CD in his and it was doing the same thing and I replicated that on the temp page you made.
I am not necessarily trying to make anything bold. It’s a long thread with a lot of issues that were corrected when I removed the bold. You say you can now add bold. Great. I troubleshooted all morning. There’s a bug in that text box. I just rebolded Units 76, 79 and 80 and no over the counter elk or deer licenses are available for these units and it won’t load for me to edit. Again.
I find it very displeasing that I’m going through major hurdles to troubleshoot an issue and you guys keep coming on here to with quick little responses, but are not reading the very detailed steps I’ve taken to eliminate cause and effect, to find the source of the problem, to finally reach a substantiated reason for the problem to have occurred, and not only me, but multiple others, and the only responses are not full investigations of the issue. There is a bug in this text box. I can replicate it. Others are having the same problem. I’ve overwritten all the original files for both WordPress and Enfold, and can still replicate the problem. I’ve turned off all the plugins. I’ve done my share of this investigation. I’m trying to be as helpful and concise as I can and you’re giving this issues less than 5 minutes of your time and brushing it off.
It’s a problem. It’s a bug.

I was having similar issues with having words bold or strong! I just tried typing CD in my text box, and YES I can replicate your problem. I’m not a moderator, so don’t get too excited. But it’s not just you. There’s an issue with that text box.
Also, overwriting your theme files isn’t going to fix it.

On the pages in question, do you have any text that is BOLD? If so, remove the bold and see if that fixes your problem.
June 21, 2016 at 6:55 pm in reply to: Issues with Advanced Editor's Text block – Tinymce is not loading #651646I’ve been troubleshooting all morning on an issue similar to this. See if adding ‘strong’ or ‘bold’ to a text item may be the problem.
There is something within the text box on that page that is causing the bug. It’s definitely a BUG. I went back several revisions before there was content in the text box. It came back and would let me edit. I added the content back in, edited to make sure there was no weird code or stray html or css and updated. It saved it, but again will not allow me to edit or reload the elements after I hit update.
I rechecked again to see if there was odd coding in the table within the text box (I suspect that is probably where the bug is being thrown) and there was an extra opening <td> and a missing <td></td> further down the table. I corrected that, and continue to have issues.
Thinking it might be the table, I went back in, deleted the one column layout element and the text box element, added a new one of each, pasted the text – minus the table – to see if it would display after update. It did not. It still won’t load.
I then started adding content one line at a time. It allowed the headline “Hunting in South Fork”.
I added the next paragraph and removed the link, thinking perhaps that was the problem.Aspen Ridge Cabins serves as a great basecamp for three big-game hunting units offering trophy elk and deer: Units 76, 79 and 80. These are draw-only units, so check with the Colorado Division of Wildlife for limited license application deadlines (no over-the-counter elk or deer licenses are available for these units).
But that did not fix the issue.
Next, I used the headline and inserted Lorum Ipsum text. It permitted me to save, AND allowed me to edit.
Then I added content a few words at a time. It stopped working when I added
<strong>Units 76, 79 and 80</strong>
.Thinking I was on to something, I grabbed the whole paragraph above and removed all the STRONG elements from the text. And now…IT WORKS.
So THEN I readded the entire content of the page that has been in there, removed all STRONG elements and it loads fine.
THERE IS SOMETHING AMISS WITH THE STRONG/BOLD ELEMENT.
No. I was very specific about the pages that do not work. Hunting in South Fork and Hunting and Fishing in South Fork. It’s NOT a caching issue. I reproduced it on two different computers. On networks 250 miles apart. Yigit produced a page on my site and had the exact same problem.
I have over written both Enfold and WordPress about 5 hours ago, then drove from Austin to North Texas. I have not logged on yet to see if overwriting and time has corrected the problem. But testing the About Us page will not produce the problem. Both hunting pages and the test page Yigit created are the ones with the issue.
Well, I keep posting because you are not responding, and I’m editing the thread as I’m troubleshooting without help. And instead of griping at me for doing so, how about trying to actually add some input that’s helpful. Because otherwise, you’re not helping at all and just aggravating a customer that is patiently waiting for some kind of support.
It’s not like I haven’t done my part in eliminating the small stuff THAT NO ONE DOES AND WASTES YOUR TIME prior to posting initially.
I’m now overwriting Enfold via FTP.
@yigit I reinstalled. And I’m still having the same issue. I thought it may be because it had some leftover code from where I snagged the data off of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife department website, so went in and deleted all of that. And correcting that didn’t fix it either.

You can’t mess it up. Just make sure you’re in the right folders. If you can log in via FTP or even FileManager in the control panel, navigate to wp-content, then themes. You’ll see the Enfold folder in there. Open it. You can either delete all the contents of the folder, or just try overwriting the files in there.
Find the unzipped copy of Enfold on your hard drive and move them all to the Enfold folder on the server. If you chose to overwrite and it still doesn’t work, then delete them and upload again.
It will be easier to just do the whole folder than to try and find the one file especially since you’re uncomfortable doing the upload. Just remember: wp-content, themes, Enfold.
Oh, I just saw your post. Reinstalling WordPress? The whole thing, or just the one file? You’re going to make me dig around and find that FTP info, I can tell. :-)
I’ll try it.
Someone logged in 3 hours ago, created a test page, and it’s having the same problem. Now what?
I was going to overwrite the Enfold files via FTP, but I’m out of town, sitting in a hotel conference room and can’t remember all the log in info for FTP.
Is there anything else that can be done? Or do you know what the problem is? I need to finish the site and send to customer for final editing, but don’t want to create pages only to have to recreate later if I can’t get it fixed.
June 20, 2016 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Website crashed during update!!! (fatal error showing) #651011Do you have FTP access? I would try uploading the theme via FTP and overwrite the existing files. Something got a hiccup during the update.
June 20, 2016 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Keep getting this Error "Error fetching content – please reload the page and … #651009I’m trying to help because I need to free y’all up to work on my own ticket! :-D
There’s something in your setup that’s corrupt. The moderators can’t reproduce it because it is on your end. The permissions issue you were having at first is clear indication that it’s something you (or the original developer) did. Now the paths and setup is not working for you.
Go in through FTP and delete the entire Enfold folder (or whatever you have renamed it to). This time, don’t rename the folder. Activate the the theme. Your original settings should be there in the database still, but if not, export them first. Then reimport them.
This isn’t a theme problem, it’s a setup problem. Get your setup fixed, and the theme should fall in place.
If you’re in the middle of moving it, perhaps its a propagation issue. I see the images just fine.

I used the top suggestion and it worked for me.
add_filter( 'wp_image_editors', 'change_graphic_lib' ); function change_graphic_lib($array) { return array( 'WP_Image_Editor_GD', 'WP_Image_Editor_Imagick' ); }
June 20, 2016 at 5:44 pm in reply to: Keep getting this Error "Error fetching content – please reload the page and … #650965Ah. I went back and reread your original post. You need to add some code to the functions file. Your host doesn’t support imagik. Hold on while I go find it.
