    Hi Andy,

    I haven’t made any changes. Here the problem still exists. See below again print screen of the problem.

    To be sure I checked in various browsers, since FF sometimes seems to render the site different from the other browsers, but they all show the same issue to me for screen heights under 786 px.

    Did you check on (pc and tablet) screens with a height under 786 px?

    Monique

    Thanks Ismael,

    You’re workaround unfortunately doesn’t help. I was checking in various browsers on my pc and it seems to me that the issue only exists in FF. Strangely enough IE, Chrome and Opera don’t show the same problem; with or without your workaround, they all look good. Omg, why can’t all these browsers follow the same ‘rules’…?

    I checked a littlebit further and found out that the problem is visible in screen widths from 768 px up to approx. 1280 px. Under 768 px, the screen switches the tabs view to 1 column and that looks fine. Above 768 px, the screen shows the tabs title left of the tab content and than the tab h3 disappears under the sticky header. When I enlarge my screen, I can see the tab container moving down and at a certain width (approx. 895 px) I can see the (1st) tab title and h3.

    Apart from that the problem exists also on my tablet (Samsung) on portrait mode, not in landscape mode. I will check also on an iPad as soon as I have one available.

    Monique

    Hi Ismael,

    Yes, like I mentioned in the first message of this topic, on smaller mobiles (msartphones) there is no sticky header and there it is not an issue.

    The problem exists on tablets and pc, so larger screens than smartphones, where there is the sticky header.

    Hi Ismael,

    With all due respect, the client wants these specific translation services in their main nav menu.

    In fact I agree with the client: you should be able to place links to practically anywhere in the website you want in order to offer a visitor the best possible navigation experience. And you should be able to see where you were linked to when you click a certain link. Now it is hidden by the sticky header.

    Custom work is not an option.

    If there is no solution for this, you can flag this topic as solved.

    in reply to: Left sidebar layout > bg image logo area #601834

    Hi Ismael,

    I checked in on a tablet (landscape screen) and also on a various devices (pc, laptop) with screensizes 1024 x 768 px and 1024 x 600 px, and it shows everywhere where the screen height is under 786 px.

    I think your solution means to show the top header already for all screensizes up to and inclusive 1024 px width? However that cannot be the intention of using a left sidebar layout… Then it would be better to go for the ‘normal’ header on top. But that is not what the client wants.

    Therefore your idea is not a solution to this problem I’m afraid.

    Can we solve this issue for the left sidebar layout or not?

    Monique

    Hi Ismael,

    To my opinion it is not such a great idea to change core files of the theme. It is not good for future maintenance.

    Can I place this avia.js file in the Child Theme, like the css and functions file, taking into consideration the level structure of the original theme folders?

    in reply to: Left sidebar layout > breadcrumbs missing #599845

    Hi Yigit,

    I find it a bit strange that title bar (incl. breadcrumbs!) is disabled on left sidebar layout by default and that there is no topion to switch it on… :-(

    I will discuss with my client what he wants.

    You can flag this topic as solved.

    Monique

    Thanks Yigit!

    That solved at least my current issues.

    Fyi: there must be a bug in the theme options when using left sidebar layout. It is strange that some of the set theme options don’t have effect on the website…!? Perhaps you can improve this in the next version of Enfold?

    Thanks Ismael!

    For the smaller screen widths (tablet, mobile) where the header is placed on top, that is a very nice solution!

    However, it does not solve the issue on bigger screen width and a height of under approx. 786px. where the header is on the left. Can you change your screen size to (for example) below 786 px height and than see what happens? See also the print screen I previously submitted.

    Looking forward to hear from you.

    in reply to: Left sidebar layout > issue font size menu #599769

    Thank you Yigit!

    Using the code to change font-size for main-nav (in my case in Child css) helps.

    Fyi: there must be a bug in the theme options when using left sidebar layout, since changing the font-size in theme options for main-nav links doesn’t work. It works for submenu level though. It is strange that it works for sublevel links and not for main-nav links…!? Perhaps you can improve this in the next version of Enfold?

    Hi Ismael,

    I haven’t changed anything to the settings / theme options. I checked in various browsers and saw the problem is the biggest on FF (see print screen). On Chrome, IE and Opera it looks slightly better since the title is readable, althoug not perfect (to my opinion). So it might be that you use another browser than me and that you don’t see the problem?

    in reply to: How to create avia-content-slider for portfolio #588962

    Hi guys,

    That is really a pitty :-(

    The client decided to go for pagination, although it is not a good or preferred choice since the whole page will be reloaded each time you click next page and it starts again from top… The visitor then manually has to scroll down again to the portfolio slider.

    Is there a solution when you click on next page, that the ‘new’ page automatically scrolls down to the portfolio slider again?

    Thanks & regards,
    Monique

    in reply to: Menu link to tabs hidden by sticky header #588952

    Hi Vinnie,

    I’m afraid that won’t work. There are several tabs all each an anchor link. They all have the same problem, that is that the sticky header floats over the title of each tab. That cannot be solved by moving the achor link of the first tab to a paragraph above… You then solve the issue for the 1st tab, but the problem remains for the 2nd, 3rd et cetera tabs.

    Please have another look and advise.

    Thanks & regards,
    Monique

    in reply to: How to create avia-content-slider for portfolio #576999

    Hi Rikard,

    Like I mentioned above, we do not have a shop and we are not using WooCommerce. I think the Plugin Additions tab only appears when we install WooCommerce?

    The slider we need should be for portfolio, not for products, but it should look the same :-)

    Please advise.

    Monique

    in reply to: How to create avia-content-slider for portfolio #576335

    Hi Rikard,

    I don’t mean the slider on top (that is the layer slider). I mean the section Top Seller, where four products are shown with arrows left and right to view more products.

    Please advise.

    Hey @unicaweb,

    in reply to: Theme options not working #571329

    Hi guys,

    First I deleted the database and all previous theme and child theme files. Then I did a fresh download for the theme (Themeforest) and child theme (your own website). Then installed WordPress and the fresh files for theme and child theme and all seems to work fine for now :-)

    I hope I don’t run into the same issues again.

    For now you can flag this topic as solved. Should I run into problems again, I will open a new thread.

    Thanks & have a nice day!

    Has anyone been able to look at this please?

    I really need to get started now! I cannot postpone any longer. This Wednesday I need to present the site to my client and it needs to be build still completely… :-(

    Can you fix this?

    Monique

    in reply to: Two logos in header #571182

    Hi Andy and Ismael,

    You confuse me. What one of you is saying, the other one changes…

    What I see now:
    1) home page 990 px and up.
    2) home page 768 px up to 989 px.
    3) http://michiels-reusel.arti-sign.nl/home-mobile-up-to-767-px.jpg (@Andy, I checked in the weekend on my partners mobile and saw this, so the issues with mobile must have come form my own mobile).

    To me that looks perfectly alright. What am I missing here?

    @Ismael
    : are you really sure I need to make those changes? I don’t want to change something that is already good. Can the two of you check together please?

    The code I have now put together from all your advise is:

    #header .widget {
        transform: translate(0%);
        min-width: 100%;
    	padding-top: 0;
    	padding-bottom: 0;
    }

    @media screen and (min-width: 990px) {
    .container.av-logo-container {
    	display: none;
    }}

    @media screen and (max-width: 990px) {
    #advanced_menu_hide {
    display: none !important;
    }}

    @media only screen and (max-width: 990px) {
    .responsive #top .logo {
        display: none;
    }

    .html_header_top.html_bottom_nav_header #header_main {
        padding-bottom: 20px;
    }

    #advanced_menu_toggle, #advanced_menu_hide {
        position: relative;
        right: auto;
        top: 30%;
        margin-top: -15px;
        margin: 0 auto;
    }
    }

    Please advise.

    Thanks & regards,
    Moniuqe

    Hi @Diezel23,

    In addition to what @pako69 is saying: for safety purposes never ever use the standard ‘admin’ as (main) user!

    I have been looking for an explanation in English for you. I think this article will tell you why not and how to delete ‘admin’ as user. I am sure you will find many more articles when you google on “why not use admin user in WordPress” or something alike.

    Best practice would be once you’ve installed WordPress on your server and you get that page from WordPress on your screen to fill in sitename, username, e-mail address and password, to immediately use another username. That way there will not be ‘admin’ user in your database.

    Hi Gavin from Interprom,

    What you do is not bad at all, but to me it misses some ‘sparkle’. To build good and good looking websites you need experience (with this theme), courage to try things out and feeling for design. My first website with Enfold was not so exciting either, but they have become better every time (I think). And also I see beautiful websites here with special effects that I love – and don’t know yet how to do ;-)

    This is not the first time you asked for advise on design. Only recently I spent quite some time to send you some tips by e-mail on one of your other websites and I haven’t received a reply from you back… (looks sad).

    Good luck, a lot of courage and keep on trying!

    Hi Andy,

    1) Yes, that works perfectly :-)
    2) Like I mentioned, I’ll still let you know asap.

    Enjoy your weekend,
    Monique

    in reply to: Two logos in header #570031

    Hi Andy,

    1) Sorry, I thought it was useful (looks bashful).
    You can see what I mean at http://michiels-reusel.arti-sign.nl/header-on-screen-size-smaller-than-990px.jpg. The upper grey bar is shown on all screen widths under 990 px and should not be there.
    I cleared cache and refreshed many times, used different devices, tablets, smartphone, browsers et cetera, but it looks the same everywhere.

    2) I wasn’t able to test yesterday. Will do that in the weekend and let you know.

    Cheers,
    Monique

    Hey Andy!

    Checked ftp details, they should be ok. Another effort below.

    I have created a child theme for twentyfifteen and that works. If you look at the site with twentyfifteen-child active you can see text in red and bigger font through CSS.

    I really hope this can be solved soon. I had to postpone presenting the website to this (new) client which is not a good thing… :-( I am not looking forward to build the site in the ‘old-fashioned’ way by not using a child theme!

    Regards,
    Monique
