    I don’t want to completely disable the lightbox!

    Did you read the request? Did you visit the early post about this? I think not.

    PAGE & POST FEATURED IMAGE ONLY… this is what I want to remove the lightbox from. Be sure to read what Dude suggested months ago that did not work before responding.

    Your stellar support amazes me. You do realize that this version of WordPress is TWO YEARS out of date? Running that is asking for trouble with backdoor entry.

    For anyone who happens along looking for the best solution to this issue…

    Do not center images in the page. Use NONE as the alignment and in the Advanced tab of the WordPress insert image window you can adjust the alignment on the page with this in the Style box: margin:left:85px;. That size margin is for a full width page so if the page has a sidebar you’ll have to adjust the margin width by reducing the pixels.

    I haven’t solved the lightbox overlay magnifying glass issue yet. In this site inserted images farther down the page are really big so no lightbox is really needed. It doesn’t do this off center thing with smaller images like 2 set in columns across the page.

    Hope that helps some other unfortunate soul still using the grossly out of date Avisio theme.

    Thanks Dude – but this doesn’t work. I already tried that before posting here.

    Not sure if it means something but it’s using rel=lightbox[grouped in the back end. Nothing about grouped in the spots you said to fix that fixes nothing.

    Just to let you know, I have solved all issues finally. It took the long awaited assistance of a code magician though. The problems with the navigation in both the sub menu of the header nav bar and the portfolio filters was caused by the way the menus were hardcoded originally. Some very complex fixes had to be done to the code. Not a customization friendly theme.

    Thanks for your attempt to assist.

    in reply to: Add phone & social icons to header – Avisio #70994

    @ Devin – no it is not the RSS Just Better plugin causing chaos with the portfolio filter. Also I have done nothing with the portfolio as far as customization goes yet. The only changes we wish to make here is to tone down the filter buttons and remove the sort by date etc line from the teaser bar as it is irrelevant to this business’ portfolio posts. Also, adding the customization to the RSS plugin links works great in plain named colors. Once you add a hex color number to both a and hover, only the a color show whether hover or not as you can see in my code and what is happening on the footer atm.

    @mya – I have altered the code for this footer area many times and everything I have tried refuses to work. Currently it has been restored to almost an exact copy of the original #3 stylesheet, which is where I left off pulling out my hair last weekend.

    The only reason that the span style is there is that at one point I hoped that would overcome this battle with the code. It didn’t do anything no matter where I placed the ! and I just forgot to remove it. Some themes do recognize the font-color direction, obviously this is not one of them. If switching it to just color works… hallelujah! I will once again try to get the one remaining argumentative link in the footer under testimonials to look like a link instead of standard text this weekend. That the lower footer row of navigation links doesn’t change on hover is not important. I’m over fighting with that area and it will suffice.

    Finally I come back to the header where no social icons or vote buttons are clickable, along with any nav bar links with child pages. The adding of a border does not make the first child tab in the drop down line up with the rest. Currently I believe it is set to 5px and the width still refuses to budge. The missing portfolio filter buttons has something to do with adding the phone and social icon contact bar to the header too. They were there until this area was properly in place above the nav bar.

    in reply to: Add phone & social icons to header – Avisio #70992

    Hi Devin,

    Yes on the added plugin – RSS Just Better. The built in RSS widget makes a link out of the widget title too. Which is fine if you can read the links but has never been possible thanks to issue #4. Its the only reason why I hunted down a different rss plugin. The client has never been happy with this part of his site and support here has not found a way to help me overcome this bug of link colors versus text colors in the upper footer vs. the real footer.

    I’ll try deactivating the plugin, but for what its worth – the amount of effort here in the footer design is long past ridiculous without reasonable happy medium.

    This theme has issues! Much of the items listed earlier all all due to adding divs to the header for important business needs. Something so simple as header phone number and social icons or the Google +1/Facebook Like votes button scripts should never be the cause of so much angst. Neither should being able to have a different color link text or hover in the upper versus the lower footer.

    in reply to: Add phone & social icons to header – Avisio #70990

    Hi Ismael,

    Thanks! A little alignment adjusting and the social icons will sit where they’re supposed to. Not liking the icons but that has nothing to do with you.

    A couple more little things and this will be completed properly.

    1) Why is the top box in the menu dropdown suddenly a few pixels narrower than the ones beneath it? See About and Services.

    2) The portfolio filter buttons have now evaporated? Where did they go?!! Can’t seem to figure this out. There’s 2 rows of them on this site.

    3) No matter how many hours I spent or code edits I’ve tried, I cannot get a hover color in the upper footer links. Finally got it so they aren’t almost invisible but now the RSS feed blog titles are not visible from the rest of the text in the right column. Mouseover shows them but they won’t change color even though there is a mouseover color present on the stylesheet. This problem has been going on for about the last 18 months since I first put Avisio on this client’s site. This is the best the links down there have looked. Now If I could just make it so they have a bold font and a mouseover color I’ll be happy. Can’t get too crazy with color down here – many tones are not easy to read on this background.

    Thanks for your help. This theme is most argumentative on customization.

    in reply to: Portfolio Entries Issue #66345

    Hi Devin,

    I figured out what I was doing wrong with that. Just a matter of getting rid of the way it was set up previously and redoing the portfolio pages options.

    Thanks :)

    in reply to: All Link Colours #37516

    Thanks Dude

    I changed the link colors because e6e6e6 and fff was just too bright. All pages but Home – or some reason there is in the code for this area but only on home. How does that happen?

    Your footer strong code does the trick to over ride what ever made all text in the top footer columns on the home page do this.

    Now my only issue is the text color in the dark stripe of the bottom footer. I tried this but it didn’t change the bottom footer text:

    #top .footer a{

    color:#665D50 !important;

    #top .footer a:hover{

    color:#56647b !important;

    #top .footer{

    color:#333 !important;

    #top .footer strong{

    color:#333 !important;

    .footer strong{

    color:#CCBB9F !important;

    .footer a{

    color:#7A705F !important;

    .footer a:hover{

    color:#818ea1 !important;

    What am I doing wrong in separating these two areas of text?

    :) Thanks – I can’t wait to be done with this project!

    in reply to: All Link Colours #37514

    Thanks Dude – we’re getting somewhere!

    The home page is still retaining the original body content colors though in the top footer and the bottom footer. I cleared the cache and that didn’t change it in my standard Chrome browser. Checked it in Firefox and its the same issue there with a cleared cache. All pages changed but home. Only IE reflects all pages having footers with the same colors of text and links.

    Plus, the bottom footer text is too dark and has disappeared on the pages the changes took effect on Chrome and Firefox, and all of them on Internet Explorer.

    With the dark skin stylesheet and any color being usable for the fully customizable background, there has to be a way to separate the text and links colors – both a and a:hover, just as there is a way to code footer widgets separately from sidebar widgets. How do I stop the home page from reverting to the body text and link colors on FF and Chrome? And how do I separate the top footer and bottom footer color coding so it works? Nothing I’ve tried so far does anything to correct that issue.

    in reply to: All Link Colours #37512

    Hey Dude – thanks for the assistance :)

    I put that code into stylesheet 1 and it didn’t change anything. I also tried adding #top in front of your .footer because that’s where I need the colors to change. Naturally, having tried this already it didn’t work either. When you see the site you’ll see that the footer links are just right but the top footer links are in need of being darker.

    Look at the footer columns on Home and then at those on any other page. The font changed to page font color on home and no where else on the site. How do I put it back to the existing color font in the top footer of home? Don’t even know how such a thing is possible.

    The site is being built at:

    Thanks! Looking forward to getting this to look as great as the rest of the site

    in reply to: All Link Colours #37510

    Hi there – Could you explain how to change the link and text color ONLY in the top footer? I have the stylesheets 1-3 all edited like this for my background color and the existing font and link color for the dark skin 3 is just right everywhere, but not in the top footer.

    I tried adding !important the the a and a hover color info at the top of the stylesheets and separating .footer and #top.footer a and a hover to two lines of code with the colors I think will work, but it didn’t change anything. The link colors aren’t readable on the background the client wants. How would I go about doing this? If I edit it in the widgets it will change all of them and then the sidebar won’t be readable. And for some reason, the text on the footer widgets on the home page are a different color than those on the other pages of the site and I didn’t change anything for font colors just the background.

    Please could you explain how to change these links only in the columns of the top footer? The client is anxious to put his new site up and can’t until this issue is solved.

    in reply to: Avisio Footer… Yikes! #38091

    Hey James.

    Yes, I did get it figured out after much pulling off the hair. I was hoping for a quick answer to stop my frustration, but by the wee hours of the morning next, I did solve my issue. Since I wanted the columns to be not all the same width, my end result in the stylesheet looks like this:

    #top .footer .column1{

    font-size: 11px;

    line-height: 19px;

    #top .footer .column2{

    font-size: 11px;

    line-height: 19px;

    #top .footer .column3{

    font-size: 11px;

    line-height: 19px;

    #top .footer .column3 h4{

    font-size: 20px;

    Everything else was edited as you laid out. By changing the widths of the different columns to fit what I needed for the client’s footer spaces the blank column on the right disappeared. It took a lot of time to get to what it looks like now but its turned out okay in the end.

    See for yourself by visiting the site construction pages at – that footer is looking almost perfect. Just have to do something about the link color in stylesheets 1-3 because its pretty much unreadable on this background color. Along with doing away with the default font and background appearing before the supposedly custom colored overlay.

    Strange, I came to add to this message and it was marked Not A Support Question? Maybe that’s why no one has answered 12 hrs. later.

    I put the original code back into the style.css sheet before my client sees what happened and freaks out. To see what happened when I followed this last part of the directions from the other support post for this there’s a screen shot of the mess it made at

    How do I get rid of the extra space on the right of the footer and increase to width of the first column? I need the left column much wider for customer testimonials.

    Looking forward to some help soon. I’d really like to finish this project as soon as possible.

    in reply to: Help – Main Page #38055

    Thanks Dude :)

    Thats not where they are though. Avisio Options > Mainpage mentions nothing about any image beyond the logo. The aha! moment was you mentioning they are page content. Duh – look on the About ‘Site Name’ page and you can easily change them to anything. But don’t upload them to the gallery like a standard post or page image or they become Pretty Picture images. They have to go into the theme’s image files to be just graphics or a button.

    Love this template, but its a doozie customize. My next issue will be the footer. Posting that S.O.S. Help! message soon.
