Ok, well I was researching a little more and it’s not going to work the way I thought it was.

But it’s from 2015 so I don’t know if it will work.

Your WordPress can not write to your .htaccess file.
Go to Settings > Permalink Settings and at the bottom of the page it tells you what to do next. You will need FTP access.
