Hello,
The host had no further ideas or solutions as everything there looked to be performing as it should.
However I was able to fix the issue myself. I created a duplicate of the front page that I was able to open inside of WordPress. I then deleted the old front page, renamed the new one (the duplicate), elected it as the Front Page in the Enfold settings and now am able to open and edit as it should.
Thank you for your help and I send this in case anyone encounters a similar issue. I have no idea what the problem was, but was able to fix it and maybe it would help others in similar situations.
Thank you, Paul
Hello,
Yes I understand that. The host said it is getting that server error because of a request from the theme.
I just went into the host error logs and then tried to pull up the front page. Here is an error from trying that. There are also multiple errors referring to cookie consent which I have tried both on and off as well as many AVIA references.

This is the problem and why I contacted support. I am unable to access the front page. I have spent hours with the host troubleshooting and have verified that the hosting is working fine and the site is well within its’ storage and capacity/performance limits. In fact the public pages are loading quite quickly.
The other pages are loading and working fine in WP. It is just the front page.
Many thanks,
Paul
Hello,
I created a new administrator account and was able to log in with the credentials.
Please give these new ones a try.
My apologies for the trouble.
Paul
Hi Mike,
My apologies, please try with the new credentials.
Many thanks,
Paul
Hi Mike,
I disabled all the plugins and the same issue is occurring, no change.
I have created an Admin account for you with details in the Private Content area below.
Thank you for your help,
Paul
Hello,
I just purchased support for the issue detailed above. I am using version 5.7.1, WP 6.5.4 and PHP 8.2.14. There is no custom class header.php or footer.php in a child theme.
Many thanks, Paul
It doesn’t matter what the changes are. When I am logged in sometimes the other browser window shows the Admin bar and sometimes it doesn’t, it just seems random. The actual changes being made are irrelevant. If the 2nd browser shows I am not logged in any changes publish, but will not show to the public until it decides to show the admin bar again. When this is the case I simply make my changes and move on knowing they will eventually display to the public …

I disabled all of the plug ins then enabled one at a time checking and the same, no log in showing. After about 15 minutes it showed then after a while disappeared. It seems very intermittent.
It just seems the changes I make in WordPress are not getting through to display outside of random results ……..
WP Settings > Reading should not be set to Home page?
Any further help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Paul
Hi Yigit,
Further to my previous message. I was going through all the pages and found some in addition to the Front page that are doing the same. But the Front page seems to always have this behaviour.
Many thanks,
Paul
Hi Yigit,
Absolutely. The issue still persists today as was just checking.
I said earlier all the other pages (when logged in) show they are logged in with the black WP bar at the top except for the front page. And all the others update and display immediately. It really seems isolated to the front page??
Anyhow, really looking forward to hear what you think. Hopefully you can see something in there causing this.
Many thanks for taking a look.
Sincerely,
Paul
Thank you.
I checked with the host and they said there is ‘some’ server side caching so we disabled it and the same issue persists.
It seems odd that it is only the home page that won’t update, or show that we are logged in to WP. All the other site pages are fine.
Any other thoughts would be a great help.
Many thanks, Paul
Hi Nikko,
https://www.banff.com/banffnationalpark/ This is my staging site. I only have the Home page now, but would like that Menu higher (but at the base of the transparent area) , the logo bigger and the transparent area smaller.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Paul
Hi Rikard,
That is too bad, but I appreciate you checking and getting back to me.
It creates a mobile version of a WordPress site (which I know Enfold has). We have used it for years and have enjoyed the features it provides, primarily selection of content for mobile only, or exclusion, as well as multi ad capabilites which made it easy to optimize the phone for mobile specific ad delivery.
We will move forward and discover new options.
If you have any ideas of a mobile plugin (or features in Enfold) that allow ads to be served uniquely (location and frequency) to the mobile devices we would love to hear about them.
Many thanks again,
Paul
Thanks Rikard,
I did disable it and the unwanted code disappeared.
Thanks for anything you might be able to suggest.
Paul
Of course,
Since switching our site to the Enfold Theme, any pages and posts we make display code on the mobile pages that the public can see and it shouldn’t be there.
Here is a sample I copied off of a Post we put up today:
[av_one_full first min_height=” vertical_alignment=’av-align-top’ space=” margin=’0px’ margin_sync=’true’ padding=’0px,18%,0px,18%’ border=” border_color=” radius=’0px’ radius_sync=’true’ background_color=” src=” attachment=” attachment_size=” background_position=’top left’ background_repeat=’no-repeat’ animation=” mobile_breaking=” mobile_display=”]
[av_textblock size=” font_color=” color=” av-medium-font-size=” av-small-font-size=” av-mini-font-size=” admin_preview_bg=”]We use WPtouch Pro and you can see it if you go to the following link with your phone: https://www.banff.com/5828-2/
Many thanks, Paul
None of the Media Elements are sticking to the top of the page when logged OUT of WordPress (looks fine when Logged in).
It’s happening with: Fullwidth Easy Slider, Featured Image Slider, Advanced Layer Slider, Image ….
Hi Victoria,
Log into WordPress, then in a new browser window bring up and look at the home page. It will display as I would like …
Now … Log OUT of WordPress and bring the home page up in a new window again and it will not display properly?? Trying to figure this one out …
Many thanks,
Paul
Hi Victoria,
Thank you here it is …
Thank you Rikard,
That worked fine. How can we change the vertical spacing in the sub menu?
Many thanks,
Paul
Further … The header transparency works fine when I am logged into WordPress. When I log out it doesn’t work as described above.
Here is what I would like (Home Page – http://www.banff.com ) and what is happening:
Many Thanks,
Paul
Thank you Rikard,
Maybe it’s better explained here what I would like to do. Funny, since I posted this one, it stopped working in Firefox and is behaving like iPad and Chrome now with the image below the header and not underneath the header as a background with header overlay.
Many thanks,
Paul
Okay … I would like to have an image as the background underneath the header and menu.
I have done what I think should produce this on the home page http://www.banff.com
What I have done seems to display and work fine in Firefox, but on iPad mini and Chrome the image I am using for the background seems to site below (not underneath) the header? i.e. the header has an all white background then the image below …
Thanks in advance,
Paul
Thanks Mike,
Yes I agree and see the same on my end. This though is with the header qualities set at No transparency. It is when it is set to Transparency when the issues arise.
It is working now so I will do without the feature as we are up and running, but I was hoping to use some of that functionality to integrate nice images into the top of my website with logo, navigation and underlying image etc.
Probably something I am missing on my end, but will keep working at it.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Paul
Thank you,
Since I posted I kept working and I was using transparent header and iOS just didn’t seem to like it.
Since moving to No transparency everything is solid on all devices.
But, my goal was to add some imagery into the header area. Do you have a suggestion on how I could add some images, or image space within the header for come color?
Many thanks in advance,
Paul
