  • I don’t think it is a plugin because I’ve disabled every plugin and it still occurs. Also, I’ve tried before installing any plugins on a clean installation and still get the problem. I can use the workaround, but do you think there will ever be a solution to this problem?

So that’s the problem, then? Wow. It took us a month and many many hours to get to that point.

So let me ask you this – is that a problem with the way the theme is reading the code? Do you know why would it only be a problem on the server installation and not on a local installation? In the future, if I just delete that space, it will work fine?

    Hi.
Once again, I’ve said this so many times, I think no one is listening.
Please take the exact text in the box below and enter it in a text block. You cannot use simple words like “test” or “hello” because it won’t reproduce the problem. Put the exact text from the private content box below in a text box in advanced editor and put it between <h4> tags.

Andy, You didn’t recreate the test page with the elements I said to use, which is why you can’t recreate the problem. If you use the <h4> and text I listed above, it will hang up, but when I looked at your KRIESI Test 2 you didn’t use that. That’s probably why the problem isn’t showing up.

Thanks, Andy. The thing is this. I created the site on a local virtual server using Instant WordPress and migrated it to the production server using the Duplicator plugin. It works fine on the local installation. But after migration, it starts acting up. My hosting service had me change all of my settings, but it still happened. No matter what I do it still happens.

HOWEVER, you should be getting the same problem when you create a text box with the header I described <h4> above. If you are NOT, that means the issue is not with the server, but rather my computer or web browser locally. But I get the problem wherever I log in and your other staff have duplicated the problem, so I am confused about you saying you don’t get it on your end.

It worked, but when I went into the text block and added the text below and it hung up again.

Yes, I deleted all files in the directory before uploading the fresh file.

Thank you for working on this.
First, yes, you can disable any plugins you want. We disabled them all before and it didn’t help.
Second, I have uploaded a fresh version of the Enfold theme using FTP. Didn’t change anything.
Third, I’ve updated the phpinfo file link so now it works again.
    Thanks!

You already have admin access. Please see the other thread below. I gave it several times so use the LAST userID and password.

Yes, thanks. We’ve made some progress over the last month. The page is unstuck somehow.
But I will just have to accept that in Enfold, I will never be able to add a header <H2>SAMPLE</H2> in a text box or it will hang up the editor. Instead I will have to have separate header boxes. Sad that we can’t get this fixed.
I just created a test page that includes simply a text box with <h5>This is a test of the Avia Layout Editor</h5> and it got hung up.
So if there is nothing more that can be done, let’s just close this thread out. I’m disappointed and wish that we had been able to fully resolve the problem but I’m grateful that we developed a work-around.

in reply to: Color Section Background Video Overlay Flash Flicker #513837

Looking at home page video, it is doing it now. I find that if I use Chrome as browser, it doesn’t flicker. If I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, it does. Microsoft Edge seems to work fine. I don’t have Firefox, but I’m guessing that is fine too. Only IE11. Problem is most of corporate America uses IE11.

I think this has created a work around. It didn’t solve the problem because I can’t use HTML code within AVIA without it getting hung up. But I guess I don’t need to. Disappointed because Enfold’s features don’t all work for me. But I suppose there is no way to fix whatever this problem is. I still get the hangup if I use HTML code within AVIA or when I design complex pages, but I will try to work through it in hopes that a future update will address the problems I have. Thanks for working with me on this.

Okay, seems like some progress. Questions:
    1. I’m confused. HOW did you get the editor to allow you to edit that page? It was impossible to edit, and therefore couldn’t be changed by anyone who tried before.
    2. Now that you made the change, the page looks different than all other pages under the “Services” parent. Specifically, on this page, AFTER THE WIDE BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM, it shows a sidebar. This sidebar doesn’t show up anywhere else on these pages that have “Services” as a parent. However, on this page, despite all settings being the same, using default template, etc., it shows up.
    3. The big problem was that the H4 header issue was only one of many that created the endless loop problem. Anything of complexity caused the problem. Because the H4 problem hasn’t been solved, I don’t think that the other problems have been solved (tested a few, and still getting the hangup.) I’m delighted that we may have the one page working, but I still can’t develop new pages or posts, which is the real problem.
Thank you for your time on this!

Okay, I tried that. Here’s the answer I got:

“Okay our shared hosting uses suPHP (in turn, means FastCGI) to allow multiple PHP versions be available to use. Switching to CGI isn’t an option under those circumstances, unfortunately.”

“local installs versus hosting installs are really difficult to troubleshoot as we’ve no way to duplicate the local environment. You can try changing the PHP version for firstmarksolutions.com in cpanel — I have seen various plugins have compatibility issues with new/older PHP versions. e.g. 5.4 doesn’t work, but 5.3 or 5.5 does…”

I tried changing the version of PHP to 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, and 5.6 but the problem still existed.
Also to address the issue in the other thread, “Make sure that your subdomain is allowed to exceed the php memory limit of 64M. Contact your host. You need at least 128M.” The host tells me my memory is set “memory_limit is set at 256M”

They say, “If the theme developers can provide you with any other solutions than switching to cgi, if we can accomodate, we certainly will do so.”

    Hi,

Where am I with my problem now you ask. I’m exactly where I was when I started on the last post. Nothing has been fixed. I tried to use the <h4> header to illustrate the problem and allow you to recreate it quickly. However, it happens anytime I create a new page with any complexity. Post or page, it still locks Avia Editor in an endless loop. So your advice about trying to create a new page doesn’t help. I’ve done that at least half a dozen times and it always locks up.

It seems like there has been a disconnect in the support I have been receiving from you. I have been asked to do things by many support techs but no one seems to follow through. It is like no one reads the rest of the thread before giving new advice that really isn’t based on a thorough review of the problem. I have been asked to do the following:
    1. Disable plugins (done)
    2. Disable Wordfence so you can login (done)
    3. Provide a login ID (done)
    4. Have my hosting service create a PHP INFO file (done)
    5. Try to explain what creates the problem (done-many times)

But yet, I can’t seem to get anyone who follows-up on the items above. I’m not sure if anyone has really looked carefully at this issue. Is there a Level 2 support that I can be sent to? I really fell helpless here because I’ve bought your product, invested thousands of dollars of time in creating the site, and I’m stuck with Enfold. So there’s really no way that I can solve the problem on my own with out starting with a new theme company and spending thousands of dollars to re-create a new site. I was under the impression when I bought Enfold that I would be able to get support if there was a problem. So I’m hoping that we can solve this. I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it if someone could sincerely help with this problem by looking carefully at all that I have written and done here.

    Thank you.

    Hi guys,

Any progress on this? I’m really hoping that we can get this fixed.

    Thanks.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #506150

As I said above, all you need to do to reproduce the issue is:
    1. Create new page.
    2. Convert to advanced layout editor
    3. Add a text box and go into the editor for the text box.
    4. Insert this using the visual editor: <h4>The Difference Between FINRA Rules 3120 and 3130</h4>
    5. Click “Save Draft”
    It goes into endless loop.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #504506

I’m not getting that error. I was able to log in. Can you try again and let me know if you still have the problem and If so will check with my hosting service? Thanks.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #502291

Done as requested. Also, tested your login and it is working.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #501990

Sorry – I posted earlier that I reloaded the entire site so I sent you a new login. I have added you again below. Also, your PHP link is below.

NOTE: As I have said before, I’ve had this problem with ALL plugins disabled, so that’s not the issue.

    Please help.

    See updated private information.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #501647

At this point, I am unable to add pages or posts to my live site. I must do it in a local version and migrate to the online version. This is a disaster.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #501628

Another thing that just happened. When I create a new page and put an H4 heading in the text box under visual editor, save as draft, then try to go in and open the text box I get this:

    An error occured
    X

Error fetching content – please reload the page and try again

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #501619

Also, Rikard – If you read the prior posts, I have 9 identical pages, all with complex text blocks, this is the only page that is causing this problem.

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #501616

What I said was that it locked up whether I copied from Word or whether I manually entered text using the Avia editor. Either way, my Enfold is not working properly, and I’ve re-loaded multiple times. Your comment about others not experiencing it is negated by the post immediately above. This thread has been going on and on and on, yet no one seems to have the answer. Is there another level of support, as this is a real problem. I would simply switch to another theme, except that I have over 120 hours in the site that I’ve developed. So I’m stuck here with no answers. And the last post you made indicates you really didn’t read my very detailed description of the problem. Is there a supervisory support person that this can be escalated to?

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #501266

I was able to get in your page and save it like it is with no problem. So I deleted your page and tried again on my own to create a simple page with nothing but a text box and enter h4 header. It worked fine.

However, when I go to add more voluminous content in the text box, it locks up. I tried the following:
1.I cut an paste a paragraph of text from a word document into the visual editor in the text box you created. It locked up.
    2. I tried again, this time manually typing in (rather than cutting and pasting the text into the box). Locked up.
    3. I tried again, this time just changing the header text you entered. Locked up on save.
    4. I created a new page and created your simple h4 header in text box. No problem. Then changed the header to “The Difference Between FINRA Rules 3120 and 3130” – locked up on save.
    5. I started again, a new page, and just the text box with my h4 Header “The Difference between FINRA Rules 3120 and 3130” – locked up on save.
So you know, I completely re-installed Word Press 4.3. And downloaded a fresh version of Enfold, current from Themeforest and installed new. Still doesn’t fix it.
So it seems like the text box with a level of complexity locks it up.

    Hi!
    Thanks for continuing to help.
    VERY INTERESTING result here.
    1. I deleted the page in the live version of the site.
    2. I re-built using the Advanced Layout Builder
    3. I use the following elements on this page and nine others: 1) 2 grid blocks, 2) three text blocks, 3) 4 whitespace lines, 4) on icon list, 5) a full-width button, and 6) a full width sub-menu.
    4. After each element I added, I clicked “Save Draft”
    5. I was near the end of adding elements with all working fine. When I got to the first text box it hung up and went to endless loop after I saved.
    6. I deleted and started again. This time going straight to the text box (which is within the grid block).
    7. I added the heading and body text. Clicked save. Hung up again.
    8. I deleted and started again. This time going straight to the text box and only adding the heading (I put in the heading in the “TEXT” option rather than the Viewer). Hung up again. Was using text to add <h4></h4> heading.
    9. Tried again, this time not using TEXT editor, but VIEWER, same thing happened when I tried to use the <h4></h4> heading.
    10. Tried again. This time with no heading, but pasted in content from a word document that I used to temporarily park content from the page. Hung up gain.
    11. Tried again. This time by manually typing all content in the VIEWER section of the text block. So far it worked.
    12. Went into the text block under VIEWER and tried to add the header using <h4>MY TEXT</h4> clicked save draft. Hung up again.
    13. So clearly what’s causing this problem is that I cannot add headers using HTML code like <h4> which hangs it up either in VIEWER or TEXT editing mode. I can’t have a site where I can’t add headers! This isn’t a problem on any other page, but will now happen whenever I try to add headers. SO my option is to not use headers (unacceptable) or to be unable to edit pages. Not a good set of choices. Can you help?

    Thanks so much!

in reply to: Enfold Avia Editor Stuck in Endless Loop #499893

    Hi.
The only way I am able to recreate the page is to go back to the local version, re-create the page, then migrate to the web server. I cannot recreate the page in the live environment because the Avia editor is stuck in and endless loop with the circle spinning around and around. I cannot edit the page at all. Answers and points as follows:
    1. No, I didn’t add any custom scripts or elements to the page.
    2. No, the page is not longer.
    3. In fact, this page is one of 9 pages on the sub-menu in the services section of the site. Each of these 9 pages are structured exactly the same, using exactly the same content and layout elements from Avia. Nothing fancy. All the others with the same exact elements work fine.
    4. I can’t go in and delete elements one at a time because I can’t edit the page.
    5. Since all of the other pages with exactly the same standard layout, structure and elements work fine, I don’t think it is the elements.

    Hope you can help.
