I understand your position but my rationale for a 3rd party builder is that it can be used in multiple themes making it easier to move layout/content without having to recreate it, which is what we did we moved to Enfold a few years ago. If we use the Enfold builder and decided to move to another theme all of the layout/content would have to be recreated

The Enfold theme is great but I need the flexibility of a stand-alone builder should there be a need to migrate from the Enfold theme. We’ve had that issue with previous themes no longer being supported and the layout/content needs to be recreated. Is there a resource you can share on migration from the Enfold builder if that is ever needed?

I found a workaround to my issue hence my failure to reply, apologies.

Yesterday I upgraded to the most current version of Enfold and the builder that I’m using Themify (I erroneously stated Beaver Builder in the previous messages) hoping that it would resolve my ongoing issue with the Themify Builder no longer working with the Enfold Theme.

In short, the Themify Builder only works on the front page of my site https://henrico.wpengine.com (this is a staging site that I’m using for testing). If I try to Turn On Builder it never opens just the spinning wheel. I’ve tried adjusting Enfold Performance settings (as previously suggested) and still no change the Themify Builder will only open on the home page.

I’m currently in the testing phase https://henrico.wpengine.com so the site I’m sharing with you is purely testing, any help would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to avoid using another theme or recreating hundreds of pages by moving the content from my preferred builder

in reply to: Beaver Builder #969020

No I haven’t adjusted any of the performance settings.

in reply to: Use Beaver Builder with Enfold #965377

Understood, we had been using the Enfold builder but the other builder has more features and allowed us transport content from theme to theme much easier. Enfold has been great for us but the because Enfold is not WCAG accessible we need to migrate to a new theme. Thanks for responding.

in reply to: Use Beaver Builder with Enfold #964379

Beaver Builder has stopped working with my Enfold theme (except occasionally on the front page of my site I’m not sure which recent update of Enfold caused it to stop working) but after communicating with the plugin author this is the response I got…

Thank you for your patience. I inspected your site and found that Enfold theme has an issue. This theme deregister ‘wp-mediaelements ‘ stuff ( http://jmp.sh/ODvXy9w ). I advise you to contact your theme provider and ask to solve this issue.

Is there an “easy” way to resolve this issue? While I understand a small bit about JS and PHP I’m not versed in them so this is a bit beyond me.

in reply to: ADA Compliance #747025

We’ve only tested the themes we are using and the prevailing issues relate to the ARIA landmarks

I’ve found several other ADA compliant WordPress themes however I was hoping to avoid a theme switch. Thanks for the suggestion.

in reply to: ADA Compliance #744503

Greetings don’t know if this topic is still open but I’ll create a new one if necessary.

We use Enfold on our website http://henricoschools.us and the compliance issues we have identified are not content creator issues i.e. alt text, links.

There are several that can’t be resolved by the content contributor but the largest issue (when looking at the WCAG 2.0 compliance guidelines) is https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/#content-structure-separation

I’ve got 98 instances that have been red flagged (related to the mouse over menus that are repeated on all of the pages within our site)

    1.3 ADAPTABLE
    1.3.1 Info and Relationships
    Use unique identification for elements
Make a decision for this issue The ID used for an element on the page is also used for another element on the page.
    ID’s must be unique.

    TECHNIQUE TO RESOLVE

In order to sufficiently meet this criterion, one of the following techniques can be applied.
H93 https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/H93 Ensuring that id attributes are unique on a Web page

    Failures
The following examples show typical mistakes that cause this error.
    F77 https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/F77
Failure of Success Criterion 4.1.1 due to duplicate values of type ID

The references are taken from the official accessibility guidelines WCAG 2.0. https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/

I use a web governance solution through http://siteimprove.com which audits my site and delivers me reports every 5 days. I’m hoping that the accessibility issues within the Enfold theme can be addressed because it is one of the best themes I’ve every used in WordPress.

    Excellent! That did the trick.

    Thanks!

in reply to: Category posts page text is right/left justified #607592

We applied the Enfold (3.5.1) update to our test site and are having the same issue with alignment on category and archive pages. They left/right justify automatically even though the post isn’t formatted that way.

See how the text is right/left justified on the first two entries on this page? If you click on the first post you will see it isn’t justified in the actual post, only as displayed on the archive pages.

I tried using different computers and browsers and clearing the cache; and the problem appears to be Chrome on a Mac. Clearing the cache didn’t work. Sorry to get you involved with something that is just a browser issue.

I also want category pages to have the same settings as the single page post.

Also, how do I keep the featured image from showing up on the main blog page? I selected Don’t display image on single post on each post. I just want the full content to appear.

PERFECT! Thanks for the quick response.

in reply to: Iconfont Manager error #477287

I got this worked out. Apparently it didn’t like the icon font file names; they were rather long. I changed them in Fontello and then downloaded the zip file and it worked perfectly!

Thanks Andy! I’ll get the child theme set up and then make this change,

in reply to: Portfolio Grid AJAX Portfolio navigation arrows #477243

I’ll just use the slideshow and forget about the gallery, thanks for your help.

in reply to: Portfolio Grid AJAX Portfolio navigation arrows #476646

The “Single Portfolio: Big Slider” (top, right on that page) does exactly what I want. It has thumbnails and hover works on a desktop, but the slideshow arrows work when you click on a thumbnail; it goes through the photos. Mine just keeps showing the same photo. I must have something set up wrong. If I select slideshow instead of gallery, I don’t get the thumbnails.

in reply to: Portfolio Grid AJAX Portfolio navigation arrows #476473

I’m not sure why you can’t see the photos; they look fine on my end. I’ve provided individual links instead.

    Click on this link: http://henricoschools.us/photo-galleries/
Click on the first portfolio element – Freeman
You’re saying that you see arrows on either side of the large photo on this page? I don’t see them on any device. There are arrows in the top right side above the photo title/caption, but those navigate between portfolio items not photos within a portfolio item.

I want to be able to navigate with arrows in addition to (or rather than) hovering over the thumbnails. If you click on the thumbnail on a mobile device, it opens the one photo and the navigation arrows don’t do anything. You have to close that photo and click on the next thumbnail. Not an ideal situation.

I’m not sure how else to explain what I’m trying to do.

I am not using a child them and have my other changes in the custom css section. I don’t see the php file you are referring to when I go to the editor.

in reply to: Portfolio Grid AJAX Portfolio navigation arrows #475802

Hopefully the screenshots will make my request clear. Perhaps I can’t use the AJAX grid for mobile.

    Excellent!
    Thank you!

in reply to: Portfolio Grid AJAX Portfolio navigation arrows #474478

I’m ready to revisit this topic as school is out for the summer.

    http://henricoschools.us/photo-galleries/
I’ve turned the AJAX feature on and added preview images for the first portfolio entry (Freeman).
The CSS code provided above has been added and I don’t see any arrows.

I want arrows to appear on all devices for navigation so you don’t have to rollover the thumbnails as that won’t work on mobile. If you click the thumbnail on mobile, it opens that photo and arrows appear but they don’t do anything.

in reply to: main menu location #471007

    http://henricoschools.us/

We may need to use the space above the menu items to spell out our school system name. I assume that would have to be part of the header background? Would it then work responsively?

hover for search icon is working now.

I think I’ve found a good position for the search icon so it looks fine on the mobile devices I am using for testing.

    Thanks for the help!

I was able to get the close button to work on the mobile menu by removing the extra curly brackets from the provided code; so this is what I used and it works.

    @media only screen and (max-width: 1150px) {
    #advanced_menu_hide { display:block !important; }
    }

The search icon is in the top bar; I moved it’s location to the right so you can see it (it was being overlapped by the menu items). The absolute position keeps it from adjusting location as the window is resized, and when you mouse over the icon, it disappears.

In addition, when I hover over the search icon, it disappears. I think it may just need a color change.

I added the code to display the close box for the mobile menu, but I don’t see the close option unless I shrink the window way down. I have the breakpoint for desktops/laptops set at 1150px, so that’s what I used in the code you provided.

The code to put the search icon in the top menu bar works except the absolute position doesn’t allow it to adjust as the window is sized, so it overlaps the top menu links. Can it be placed in the area where the social icons are, adjusting location as the screen size changes?

in reply to: icon box fixed height? #463495

I actually figured how to just affect the one page and it works but…

It will crop the height of boxes that are larger than the set pixels, but it will not increase the size of boxes that are smaller than the set pixels. I want the boxes to be all the same size regardless of the content. Can this be done?

in reply to: icon box fixed height? #463492

    Andy,
I think this will work but it changes all the pages. How do I change just this page?
