You have some media queries unclosed in your Quick CSS code:
Try to put the code outside of those, or in the css/custom.css.

En un principio intente hacerlo en el Quick CSS pero no estaba funcionando, si quieres juntar ambos, trata de limpiar antes el código del Quick CSS y lo pasas al custom.css, al final de todo para que no afecte a lo que ya esta.
No, cuando actualices guarda el css/custom.css, porque es probable que se reemplace por uno nuevo.

I don’t see any drawbacks of using .htaccess, have you tried with a plugin? like this one for example: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects/

Yes it could, but that is a very deep customization. perhaps can be added as a feature request, If you really need it try hiring a freelancer for the job.
