The issue was with the firewall. The hosting service resolved the issue, and now updating the Title of the images works. You can close this topic. Thank you.
I have been getting an error message at some points when I have been in the dashboard: The firewall on this server is blocking your connection. I will send a screenshot in the Private Content. I wonder if this is causing the issue that I cannot update the Titles of the images.
I tried going into the Media Library, I updated the Alt Text and Title of each image, and neither one stuck.
What image did you rename, and did you put it back to what it was before you renamed it? What Portfolio Item are you in? I don’t know what second image refers to.
It is still not working for me. I am in Flora and Fauna Portfolio Item, and for the third image from the last one, I put in Alt text, and have been trying to get that to be the title, but it is not saving with a title at all. I have tried this on Firefox and Chrome, and have cleared all data from both, and it is still not working. I wonder if there should be a Save button on the Edit gallery page, instead of Insert gallery, as when I click that button, it does not save the Title of the image.
It still doesn’t work for me. It seems like there is a Save button missing from the Edit gallery screen. All I see on that screen is Insert gallery button at the bottom right, and after I click Insert gallery, and then Save on the next screen, when I click back into Edit gallery, the Title of the image goes back to what it was before I changed it.
What I want to do is make all the measurements in the Titles of the images in the Portfolio items be X”W x X”H, and when there is a length, it should be X”L x X”W x X”H (where X is a number).
I updated to the latest version (5.6.12) and it still does not work. When I’m in Portfolio Items / Masonry Gallery / Edit gallery, then I change the title, but after I leave that screen after clicking Insert gallery, the new title does not stick. If I click back into Edit gallery, it goes back to the old Title. I will post login details in private content.
I have not tried that. I have been trying to adjust the image title in Edit gallery. I added screenshots to a folder in Dropbox. The title starts as 18″ long, 9″ high, I wanted to change it to 18″L x 9″H. I change it to that, then I click Insert gallery, but then when I go back to the gallery, the Title goes back to what it was before.

On the main portfolio page, I like how there is the All / Portfolio 1 / Portfolio 2 / Portfolio 3 / Portfolio 4. When I am on the main portfolio page, when All is selected, I want to see all of the images from each Portfolio Item (the images are in Masonry Gallery media elements in each Portfolio Item). Then when I select Portfolio 1 in that horizontal list, I want to see all of the images I have for Portfolio Item 1 (if there are 15 images in the Masonry Gallery media element on Portfolio Item 1, I want to see all 15 images).
I would rather not have to do additional Masonry Gallery media elements, because that would mean updating in two places. (I also have Portfolio Item 1, Portfolio Item 2, Portfolio Item 3 as sub-menu items under Portfolio in the main menu.)
My site is local right now, so no link. I am using Minimal Portfolio. On the portfolio main page, when All is selected, I want to see all of the items in all of the Portfolio Items, including all of the images in the Masonry Gallery media elements. So for instance, for Portfolio Item 1, I am using the Masonry Gallery with 20 images. For Portfolio Item 2, I am using the Masonry Gallery with 15 images. For Portfolio Item 3, I am using the Masonry Gallery with 10 images. When I am on the Portfolio page with All selected, I would want to see all 45 images (contents of everything). When I select Portfolio Item 1 (in smaller type, to the right of the subhead on the left) I would want to see the 20 images. When I select Portfolio Item 2, I would want to see the 15 images, and so forth. Right now I only see the featured image thumbnail for each Portfolio Item when I am on the main Portfolio page. So with my 4 Portfolio Items (which are the same as my Portfolio Categories), I only see the 4 thumbnails.
And what I mean by that is, I’m wondering if instead of seeing one thumbnail image from the set of images in a Portfolio Item, I see all of the images in the set of a Portfolio Item.
Right now the thumbnails are a bit dimmed (not full opacity), and when your mouse rolls over the image, it becomes full opacity.
Thank you, that is great. I also wonder, would it be an issue if I remove the content from the Title field in the gallery? I would like some images to have titles, and others to have no titles.

1. I’m not sure how to display images using the Portfolio Grid. I see I can select categories, but not images.
2. I see at the bottom of the Portfolio Item page, there is a place to Add preview images, and Display preview images. Does that functionality not work anymore?
3. Where can I find Content > Sorting > Order?
4. How large in pixels should the images be to display as large as possible with the greatest quality, but still preserving file size? What should the max height or width be in pixels? I’m especially wondering for images displaying in the lightbox.
5. In galleries, the images start a bit dimmed, then turn to full opacity on rollover. I wonder if I can do the opposite, have the images start at full opacity, then get a bit dimmed on rollover.

Thank you. I am most wondering about the ideal size when it is in the Lightbox. How large can it be? 705px is relatively small. I thought maybe 1500px or 2500px in width? What is the largest size it displays in the Lightbox?
For the Minimal Portfolio theme, I had some questions.
– What is the ideal width and/or height in pixels for an individual portfolio item image?
– When you click into a portfolio section, such as this first image in the Design category (iPad & iPhone freebie) I’m wondering if I can see caption information under some or all of the portfolio item images on that page. On the site I’m working on, some of the images have captions, as you can see on this page here.Regards,
JonahHi Mike, thank you for your response. I looked at Elegant Portfolio, and did not see a menu item for Portfolio, and did not see a dropdown of submenu items that could be used for the various categories of artwork. Does that theme have that functionality?

Thank you for your reply. However, this is not what I’m looking for. With your code, the caption that is generated in the lightbox is the name of the file, not the caption I input in the Edit gallery window. I want the caption I input in the Edit gallery window to be displayed:
A. In the Image list, on hover, similar to the behavior in Gallery
B. If that is not possible, I would want the caption that I input in Edit gallery to appear in all lightbox images, from Image List view, as well as from Gallery view.Regards,
