Generally, I always try to add the code to Quick CSS first. Most of the time that works, if a conflict pops up it could be styling conflict somewhere or a caching issue.

As for your text color issue, are you needing everything besides the header to be #444?

Please edit your page and choose to display transparent or glassy transparent header – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/intro-to-the-header-configurator/ and then place hotspots element to the top of your page content.

The masonry images are resized to a max width and height of 705x705px in the functions.php file. You can increase the px value then regenerate the thumbnails:

$avia_config[‘imgSize’][‘masonry’] = array(‘width’=>705, ‘height’=>705 , ‘crop’ => false); // images for fullscreen masonry
Use this plugin to regenerate the thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
