Thank you. I was able to get the update to work on my second attempt without issue.
Update: I realized I didn’t unzip the installable wordpress files. After unzipping them, I have had wordpress state that there is a critical error on my site. My hosting company is working on restoring the site now. I am hoping to try updating the theme later, but want to avoid errors. Any additional advice?
It may be worth noting we are using php 5.6 right now for the old theme. Do we need to update that before updating the theme? Switiching to any version higher cause blank pages to appear on our site, which is why we need to get the theme updated I believe.
Thank you for your reply. I downloaded the installable wordpress files from themeforest and uploaded them to my cPanel. I thought perhaps my dashboard needed time to catch up to the change, but I am still seeing the old version instead of the current version.
