No need. Moving on.
I’m not running any caching plugin but I do have an image compression plugin running…?
I went through and turned off each plugin one by one to see if that changed the result, it did not.
The code is working great in the customizer so I’m happy. I thought you should know. You can mark this resolved unless you have any other questions or comments.
Actually I do not. I haven’t had it deactivated since the first issue I posted and had it suggested that that is what should be happening. I have since had all expired CSS and JS files generated by the theme deleted. Is there any other variable that could cause this?
That didn’t work in the quick css but I loaded it into the Customizer CSS and it worked fine. It does take out the product image but I can live with that. Appreciate it.
This is the latest time a custom css did not work in the theme’s quick css but did in the customizer’s css field. …any concern there?
Thanks Ismael!!
Tru dat! It’s why I asked the question above: “2nd question: Can this one line of code change be put into the customizer as a css change? or do I really have to put the entire functions.php file in my child theme folder…because this breaks the theme when I did it and got the white screen of death.”
Putting the entire functions.php file can’t be the way to go since that’s a critical file that will have changes made in the future, that you will need to not overwrite. But I did, but labeled it functions.php2 in the child theme folder.
Still no answer.
AJ; You did not need to add any line, just change the value on the existing line. The fact that you added a line is what the problem is. Now you have two lines commanding the same function. Delete what you added and change the existing line value to what you need. Regenerate and that should be all you need.
Closed. Thank you.
Jordan: That did NOT work in the Quick CSS but I added it to the customizer and it worked beautifully. Thank you. My faith in your abilities has been restored slightly. You’re still 1 for 3 which would get you drafted by most professional baseball teams.

AJ…there are multiple lines of code that address all the options for the blog layout, one is for big images if you have that option selected, you don’t say. Make sure the line of code you change matches the size option you have marked in the blog layout options page.
Then you do need to regenerate but you can regenerate only that specific image in the media library.
I know I have the “read more” links in some posts. I put them there. You can only do that manually from the classic editor. That doesn’t answer my question.
I also know there are a FEW options in the blog layout tab. None of which addresses my question either. In fact, those options on the Blog Layout option page are about as minuscule as it gets. Meta Data & Links…that’s it.
MOST premium themes have the ability to add the “read more” element automatically after you set the number of words to include in the excerpt or just draw from the excerpt.
Your blog element options are some of the worst I’ve ever seen for a business theme.
I would like you to address the issue I raised in my question on this thread. I know it will probably be, “there are no other options” but maybe there are.
I post questions here to find more and better ways to use this theme. I don’t post questions here to have you tell me things I already know or to parrot back to me things I’ve already done.
It seemed to be this code line:
$avia_config[‘imgSize’][‘entry_with_sidebar’] = array(‘width’=>845, ‘height’=>540); // big images for blog and page entries
I successfully changed the container size and regenerated the existing image and it now works just fine.
Support Note: It would’ve been much easier to have given me this code option in the first place instead of just telling me to “change my image size” which had nothing to do with the issue.
My question now: How do I keep this code change in my child theme so that future changes to the function.php file doesn’t mess it up again? Do I have to copy the entire functions.php file to the child theme or can I use some snippet?
Appreciate the help Victoria.

7 days since I asked this simple question. Maybe this format isn’t that efficient for answering questions.
Wrong. The image is 1030x618px. Your featured image container is probably 321px tall. Is there anyone there that can answer my question who understands WordPress and this theme?
The first location did not work but the 2nd one did.
Thank you!!Basically, any page. Your code sits in my Quick CSS input field. Didn’t change anything. 007s did change the background color but not the font. But I’m repeating myself.
I changed that setting to your recommendation. Nothing changed. I even tried to reuse a px value but nothing I could do changed the width at all.
I’ve left it set to 100%.I’m only running the most basic plugins (All 11 active) so I know it’s not that.
What’s going on? Do you need to login to look at settings or ??
Even the demo is wider than my site…??
Demo: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/
Me: https://jsummers.info/Is it because my menu is smaller?
Well you’d think that the whole idea for using the builder would be to have MORE options not fewer.
I’m becoming more and more disappointed with this theme as I get deeper into it.

These are my settings: Default Demo>Enfold Child Theme Options>General Layout >Layout>Stretched>Dimensions>Responsive Site Checked>Maximum Container width>100%
You built this theme, you tell me?

That doesn’t work either. Stays the same.
Didn’t work at all 007
1. That works for the background but I need a hex code value. …???
2. It didn’t work for the font color.- This reply was modified 5 years, 9 months ago by JeffreySummers.
The problem is that you don’t have all the elements for a post page when using the builder to create posts.
Where’s the author link element?
Where’s the “You might also like” element? The only posts elements I see are share and comments. ???
Plus, a builder post doesn’t follow the global blog layout options I chose and input from the options page.
Here is the exact same post created both ways.
What am I missing?

Titlebar: that was the issue. Thanks.
Can the title bar background color be changed along with the font color?

UPDATE: I deleted the testimonial element from the demo page, then re-added it and it moved over. SO deleting and re-adding elements places them correctly on the page?
Still haven’t figured the title bar issue out yet.
Resolved. Thank you.
Tried both ways (actually i’m used to the copy n paste option wealthy outlined because it’s how WP Bakery works although there’s no need for editing the function page because VC is designed to show you the code for just such editing purposes) but with that said I like Yigit’s way better. ( https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#templates. )
Appreciate all the help.
Update: I went back to the default editor and all the elements appear now, including the featured image. Does this not happen when I use the Avia builder?
