I figured it out….. it is indeed a bug.
If I remove the caption, then the controls work.
If I re-insert the caption text, then the controls do not work.Is it possible to report this bug? Is there a workaround?
Thanks
Hi Basilis, sure, credentials to log into the staging site are in the private content. Thanks!
I just tried uploading a video to my media library to see if that would allow the viewer to pause. The controls appear now, but they don’t do anything. Is this a bug?
Thanks
I went up through this thread and saw Josue’s fix for the div by zero error message… that seems to have fixed my problem but this really feels like a workaround that should be addressed in theme development. Go Daddy is the world’s largest hosting provider and the theme should be 100% compatible, with all respect.
Thank youHelp! I used the fix above and while it solves the upload issue, I get:
Warning: Division by zero in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas08_data02/27/2854827/html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/helper-slideshow.php on line 47
displayed at the top of my web page!
Guys – this is a huge issue as more and more of us use Go Daddy managed wordpress… this needs to be addressed in future Enfold theme updates… please….
April 6, 2016 at 4:32 pm in reply to: Full page video that scrolls into a text page possible with Enfold? #609048@Yigit when I have tried that in the past, I have a difficult time specifying exact location of text inside the color section.. any tips on how to place the text? Does that require CSS expertise?
@begrafiks thanks, I tried the fullscreen slider and that it working much better! I could not figure out how to do the effect you see on the NY Times page as you start to scroll down from the top… I like how the video starts to fade out as the text fades in. It looks like they are doing a semi transparent white overlay to get that effect? Here’s the page I am working on….
http://www.thomashenthorne.com/1292-sanderling-island-point-richmond/I also can’t figure out how to get the video to loop… I tried the &loop=1 on the url parameter but that didn’t work.
Thanks so much!!

April 5, 2016 at 10:54 pm in reply to: Full page video that scrolls into a text page possible with Enfold? #608554Thanks much! Perfect timing as I am just working on this now.
Doing that, how do you then superimpose text over the video? I would like to include a banner like in the New York Times example. Thanks!
Thank you for your response! I think I might have solved my issue… the sidebar in the theme settings was turned off for pages… so even though the new template called a sidebar, the global theme settings overrode it. I think I can make this work for my site by just turning off the sidebar on pages where I don’t want one. The answer now seems so obvious…. thank you!
I should add that these pages are not hosted on my wordpress site, but instead indexed to it with my domain url. This is all done through a plugin called Optima Express. Thanks
Thanks Vinay. I am surprised that setting a caption below the photo, which is a fairly standard practice, requires custom coding / configuration. But I appreciate your help!
Thanks.
Thanks so much!!
Any final comment on this? I need to push a new version to the staging website which would wipe out the above page I created for Vinay…thanks
Actually, the problem still exists on the above link even without going back in revisions….
The problem is that the youtube video link / thumbnail does not display on mobile, allowing a mobile user to click the link or the thumbnail and see the Youtube video.
Please go to the above link on your mobile device and all you see is blank space, not an option to click to view the youtube video.
Is this a bug or a feature request or user error?
Thanks
March 16, 2016 at 5:44 pm in reply to: Enfold Demo Question – full width box with text superimposed on photo #599043Noted, will just use my staging site.
A suggestion for those without staging sites would be to create an area on your website where people can cut and paste the code as I did with the above that Rikard posted.
Thanks
Hi Vinay,
Thank you for your response. Now this morning Enfold’s behavior has changed — is it possible some coding change happened over the evening?
This is the page I created for you to see the “red arrow” but now if there’s no background image displayed, nothing is shown.
http://82a.889.myftpupload.com/sample-page-for-vinay/What I would like it to do is give the mobile user the option of watching the Youtube video. How do I do that?
Thanks

[av_textblock size='' font_color='' color='']This is a sample page illustrating the issue with color background and mobile video. If you select a youtube video as a background and don’t specify an image background, the mobile browser displays a still photo of the video with a red “play” icon but the icon does NOT play the Youtube video.

Is there a way to see other demo pages code like this without changing things on my site / losing my site customization?
This is great!!
Thank you

March 14, 2016 at 11:37 pm in reply to: How make a sticky blog post display at top of blog page? #598030OK I figured it out!! I’ll update this thread so if others are searching they can find this.
– Go to theme options and for “page to display blog” select <BLANK> (no selection), then save.
– Go to blog page and use Avia to insert text box, then blog roll box.
– Customize side bar options / page options as needed
Done! Text will repeat on top of page 2,3,4 etc with the pagination turned on. I’m not sure why it does this but I like that it does.
Thanks
March 14, 2016 at 10:23 pm in reply to: How make a sticky blog post display at top of blog page? #598010I went over into the staging environment and played around… I created a blog roll in Avia, and tried to add banner text on top with both a text box and a special box… how do I get intro text on top of the blog?
Here is a photo of my attempt, which did not work: imgur pic
The text doesn’t show… it just shows the blog roll….thanks
March 14, 2016 at 9:53 pm in reply to: How make a sticky blog post display at top of blog page? #598000Thanks Vinay… I am thinking that perhaps I need to set up my blog page. Currently it’s showing a blank screen under the editor.
With my old theme the blog page did not have any spot to add text at all.If I add text to the blank screen under the editor, in preview mode the blog just goes to the home page.
Are there instructions for setting up the blog on Enfold? Perhaps I have some set up work to do? I can probably do this myself if you can tell me what I need to do, otherwise can give you admin credentials, thanks!!!!
March 14, 2016 at 8:11 pm in reply to: How make a sticky blog post display at top of blog page? #597955Hi Vinay,
I would like to add some sort of welcome to the blog page… with my old theme, I had the welcome be the sticky post.Since this theme does not display the sticky post, is there another way to add a photo and a welcome message to the blog page?
Please note that the staging site is still up but we have pushed it into the production site so any changes there won’t take effect.
If you can tell us what to do and how to do it, I can handle it.
Thanks so much!!!
Rob

March 14, 2016 at 1:08 am in reply to: Enfold Demo Question – full width box with text superimposed on photo #597453Here is the link to the demo team page
i am referring to the full width banner about halfway down the page with “The Office” as a headline… and as you scroll, the photo contained in that banner also scrolls inside the box. The effect is like looking through a window at a picture…and as your scroll the window, you see different parts of the picture.
It is a cool effect.
I actually see many cool effects on the demo pages I would love to replicate on my site… how can I see those demo pages layouts without importing them? My understanding is if I import them it breaks all my customization on my live site.
Thanks!!!
March 13, 2016 at 1:15 am in reply to: Full Width Easy Slider – how make it full width but narrower? #597306I figured it out (in case others are searching and come across this…) The photos were too narrow and so the slider was stretching them causing them to be shorter. I re-saved all photos at the same pixel size and now I’m good.
March 11, 2016 at 11:15 pm in reply to: Full Width Easy Slider – how make it full width but narrower? #597081Thanks… I tried LayerSlider but the mobile version looked terrible (picture cropped, appeared vertically vs horizontally) so I went back to my original slider which at least looks good on mobile and desktop, just is a little wider than I would like. Seems like this would be so easy to set / fix?
Thank you very much!!!!!
March 11, 2016 at 6:53 pm in reply to: Full Width Easy Slider – how make it full width but narrower? #596987Thanks… I tried that but it’s still the same issue. The slider is huge — takes up the whole screen below the header. I just want a strip slider, not the whole screen…..
March 11, 2016 at 6:01 pm in reply to: Full Width Easy Slider – how make it full width but narrower? #596966Hi, I posted this a couple of days ago but don’t see a response… can someone help me?
Thanks!
March 10, 2016 at 4:52 pm in reply to: How make a sticky blog post display at top of blog page? #596369Thanks Vinay!
I am trying to limit the number of plugins I use to reduce conflicts and maintain site speed but I’ll look at that one.
Is there a way to put some welcome text / photo at the top of the blog page? That’s what I really want to do, and with a different theme the way to do that was to use a sticky post which that theme supported. Since this theme does not, is there a different way to do this?
Thanks again!! (and thanks for the work on the header… I didn’t want to waste your time with all the customization that I began to realize we were going to need once Thomas saw it and began saying “can we….”)
Thanks
