    Any final comment on this? I need to push a new version to the staging website which would wipe out the above page I created for Vinay…thanks

    in reply to: Color section video background mobile question #599202

    Actually, the problem still exists on the above link even without going back in revisions….

    The problem is that the youtube video link / thumbnail does not display on mobile, allowing a mobile user to click the link or the thumbnail and see the Youtube video.

    Please go to the above link on your mobile device and all you see is blank space, not an option to click to view the youtube video.

    Is this a bug or a feature request or user error?

    Thanks

    Noted, will just use my staging site.

    A suggestion for those without staging sites would be to create an area on your website where people can cut and paste the code as I did with the above that Rikard posted.

    Thanks

    Hi Vinay,
    Thank you for your response.

    Now this morning Enfold’s behavior has changed — is it possible some coding change happened over the evening?

    This is the page I created for you to see the “red arrow” but now if there’s no background image displayed, nothing is shown.
    http://82a.889.myftpupload.com/sample-page-for-vinay/

    What I would like it to do is give the mobile user the option of watching the Youtube video.How do I do that?

    Thanks
    Rob

    [av_section min_height='' min_height_px='500px' padding='no-padding' shadow='no-border-styling' bottom_border='no-border-styling' id='' color='main_color' custom_bg='' src='' attachment='' attachment_size='' attach='scroll' position='top left' repeat='no-repeat' video='' video_ratio='16:9' overlay_opacity='0.5' overlay_color='' overlay_pattern='' overlay_custom_pattern='']
    [av_textblock size='' font_color='' color='']

    This is a sample page illustrating the issue with color background and mobile video. If you select a youtube video as a background and don’t specify an image background, the mobile browser displays a still photo of the video with a red “play” icon but the icon does NOT play the Youtube video.

    [/av_textblock]
    [/av_section]

    PS – now that I can see it, it’s so clear and easy.. wow.

    Is there a way to see other demo pages code like this without changing things on my site / losing my site customization?

    This is great!!

    Thank you

    Many thanks!!!!!!

    OK I figured it out!! I’ll update this thread so if others are searching they can find this.

    – Go to theme options and for “page to display blog” select <BLANK> (no selection), then save.

    – Go to blog page and use Avia to insert text box, then blog roll box.

    – Customize side bar options / page options as needed

    Done! Text will repeat on top of page 2,3,4 etc with the pagination turned on. I’m not sure why it does this but I like that it does.

    Thanks

    I went over into the staging environment and played around… I created a blog roll in Avia, and tried to add banner text on top with both a text box and a special box… how do I get intro text on top of the blog?

    Here is a photo of my attempt, which did not work: imgur pic

    The text doesn’t show… it just shows the blog roll….thanks

    Thanks Vinay… I am thinking that perhaps I need to set up my blog page. Currently it’s showing a blank screen under the editor.
    With my old theme the blog page did not have any spot to add text at all.

    If I add text to the blank screen under the editor, in preview mode the blog just goes to the home page.

    Are there instructions for setting up the blog on Enfold? Perhaps I have some set up work to do? I can probably do this myself if you can tell me what I need to do, otherwise can give you admin credentials, thanks!!!!

    Hi Vinay,
    I would like to add some sort of welcome to the blog page… with my old theme, I had the welcome be the sticky post.

    Since this theme does not display the sticky post, is there another way to add a photo and a welcome message to the blog page?

    Please note that the staging site is still up but we have pushed it into the production site so any changes there won’t take effect.

    If you can tell us what to do and how to do it, I can handle it.

    Thanks so much!!!

    Bumping this since it’s 4 days old… any thoughts?

    Here is the link to the demo team page

    i am referring to the full width banner about halfway down the page with “The Office” as a headline… and as you scroll, the photo contained in that banner also scrolls inside the box. The effect is like looking through a window at a picture…and as your scroll the window, you see different parts of the picture.

    It is a cool effect.

    I actually see many cool effects on the demo pages I would love to replicate on my site… how can I see those demo pages layouts without importing them? My understanding is if I import them it breaks all my customization on my live site.

    Thanks!!!

    I figured it out (in case others are searching and come across this…) The photos were too narrow and so the slider was stretching them causing them to be shorter. I re-saved all photos at the same pixel size and now I’m good.

    Thanks… I tried LayerSlider but the mobile version looked terrible (picture cropped, appeared vertically vs horizontally) so I went back to my original slider which at least looks good on mobile and desktop, just is a little wider than I would like. Seems like this would be so easy to set / fix?

    Thank you very much!!!!!

    Thanks… I tried that but it’s still the same issue. The slider is huge — takes up the whole screen below the header. I just want a strip slider, not the whole screen…..

    Hi, I posted this a couple of days ago but don’t see a response… can someone help me?

    Thanks!

    Thanks Vinay!

    I am trying to limit the number of plugins I use to reduce conflicts and maintain site speed but I’ll look at that one.

    Is there a way to put some welcome text / photo at the top of the blog page? That’s what I really want to do, and with a different theme the way to do that was to use a sticky post which that theme supported. Since this theme does not, is there a different way to do this?

    Thanks again!! (and thanks for the work on the header… I didn’t want to waste your time with all the customization that I began to realize we were going to need once Thomas saw it and began saying “can we….”)

    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi – yes, I now realize I cross-posted as I added the question onto another thread.

    I see this question asked frequently on the forums – perhaps it should be made into a FAQ?

    Would it be possible for you to give me the quick css with colors for:
    Facebook
    Twitter
    Instagram
    Youtube
    Pinterest
    Linkedin
    Google plus

    ?

    I am guessing if you put together one post with all of those that will eliminate a lot of questions…. and is a huge help to me! It would be great if this were an option on the social sharing menu, given how frequently it is asked.

    Thanks so much,

    Rob

    For #1, I just found this code in another support post on this forum, and that fixed it… still need help with #2 please, thanks!
    .single div.big-preview.single-big, .single .small-preview {
    display: none !important;
    }

    in reply to: Colorful facebook icon #595418

    Hi, how do we do the same for all the icons so they are all colors, like the Facebook icon after the above css?

    Thanks

    I slept on this and realize I probably need to bring in a web coder / design person to customize this header.
    It would be a great enhancement in future versions of this theme to include (a) more header text customization and (b) sticky menu for mobile. It seems like these questions come up a lot on the forums.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thank you Vinay – definitely you made some good progress!

    The positioning of the Sotheby’s logo looks great when page is first loaded before scrolling begins, so great progress. The mobile menu looked great until I changed “Marin Real Estate” to “Marin Luxury Homes” and now it’s wrapping on the mobile version. Is it possible for that to fit on the one line?

    However: When the user begins scrolling the page, two issues:
    a. Sotheby’s logo doesn’t get smaller like the logo on the left (TH logo).. can it behave the same as that logo? That logo fits nicely between the two bars that frame “Thomas Henthorne” on top and bottom.
    b. Sotheby’s logo doesn’t seem to respond to re-sizing when I change pixel height in the text widget. Ideally it would be same size as “TH” and then resize as user scrolls down. I am also wondering if it could link to a site like the other logo?
    c. When user scrolls down, the FAQ & Contact on the main menu run into the “Marin Luxury Property Specialist” and they stop working.

    Idea: Is it possible to create an additional text box / widget to the right of the “TH” logo — for a “header 2” text widget? I am wondering if we move the Thomas Henthorne text box over next to the TH logo we can fix the problem (c) above? It would be great to be able to fit 2-3 lines of more closely spaced text, so the header looks something like this:
    sample header for vinay

    I am sorry this is so difficult… I have spent more time on this header than configuring the rest of the site, I think!

    Your help is much appreciated,
    Rob

    Thanks!

    (And it’s fine w/me if the Sotheby’s logo does <not> display on the mobile version of the header… I don’t think there’s any room for it?) Unless it somehow fits in the area for the secondary menu?

    I really appreciate the help with this.

    Thanks!

    And adding link to image using upload site requested earlier, sorry I used a different site originally

    image here

    adding more info

    Thanks Vinay!

    1. I added the quick css and it fixed the issue with the title bar, but the issue with the logo remains, hoping you can move it as pictured in the above post.

    2. Also the “Marin Real Estate” phrase under “Thomas Henthorne” in the header runs into “Contact” on the main menu when you scroll down, can you fix that too?

    Please note I am using child theme so you can make changes there if you want.

    3. The “contact” on the main menu is not working – I assume that might be related to #2 above?

    Thanks!!!
    Rob

    Hi again Andy,
    I’ve done some more work on the header since I wrote the above and have added a text widget and tried to add a second logo, using some of the tips I found on the help forum.

    The text widget is:
    <p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 28px;”>THOMAS HENTHORNE</span></p>
    <p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 22px;”>Marin Real Estate</span></p>
    sothebys logo

    So that adds text and the logo. The text was off so I added the following CSS from related support topics:
    #header .widget {
    left: 50%;
    padding-top: 0;
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    transform: translate(-50%);
    z-index: 999;
    }

    That got the “Thomas Henthorne ” etc text nicely centered, but two problems remain:

    1. The above-mentioned one where the grey title bar is partially under the header when the page loads prior to any scrolling
    2. I can’t figure out how to get the Sotheby’s logo positioned to the right so it’s positioned as in this picture where I dragged it with my browser and took a photo before it snapped back:
    photo here of sotheby’s logo positioned correctly

    Thanks again for your help!
    Rob

    Thanks, phone number fix worked great!

    Here’s a screen shot of the issue I’m having:

    post image screen

    As you can see in above photo, the “top marin real estate agent” and text in the black title bar is running into the logo <BEFORE> scrolling… so when you first load the webpage, the bar is already under the logo.

    Does that make sense?

    Thanks!!
